  1. Yes They have money to spend and I'd have to imagine Harris's first visit would be Buffalo.
  2. I was under the impression Spikes wants to be a full time player and he's already been told he's a part time player here and would get a contract offer that reflects that.
  3. I'm telling you, the contracts that get signed in the next couple of days are going to make peoples heads spin. There's a lot of teams with a lot of cap room who have to spend it and not that many good players available.
  4. No, but ESPN isn't targeting intelligent sports fans. They are targeting the average joe who is still taking Steven Jackson in fantasy leagues and emails articles to their buddies saying "look at what this guy said".
  5. I want Revis bad but I'm more than a little nervous about what Woody is willing to pay him. Though I imagine a record breaking deal for Revis from the Jets would add more than a little bit of fire to the whole tampering incident the Pats are trying to press.
  6. No one is starting threads about Chris Brown on a message board.
  7. You are right with this. I think people don't understand the business model ESPN has embraced. They long ago entered into the professional troll business. It's why they put Skip Bayless and Steven A. on every single day or use someone like Mark May to rile up Buckeyes fans.
  8. As much as I do believe in elite backs, I'd much rather have Kiko / Marshall than Shady / 5th round pick for roughly the same money.
  9. Transition tag would give us a chance to match whatever contract Hughes gets. You only get the tag number if he signed the tag and didn't pursue a contract elsewhere.
  10. transition tag =/= franchise tag.....
  11. They live in a vacuum where 31 other teams trying to get better don't exist and they don't understand there's several teams that have to spend over $30 mil of cap room this FA period to avoid being fined.
  12. I never said $14 mil, but he's not going to be considerably cheaper than Hughes.
  13. I have. I'm pretty sure it gets filed into a black hole. The simple truth is we are stuck with him as the Bills writer unless he does something controversial or decides to pursue other career opportunities.
  14. Hardy will likely get north of $8 mil. There's a lot of teams with a lot of money to spend and pass rusher is high on everyones list. Hardy will get a big one year "prove it" contract from someone.
  15. McPhee is going to get paid only slightly less than Hughes. Morgan, Reed and Graham are interesting names. Obviously we all know Hardy can play, but given teams being desperate for pass rushers, I'd be surprised if he signs near a cheap as some seem to believe. No one will give him a long contract, but he's not going to be signing for $2 mil.
  16. The problem with "just ignore him" is the suits at ESPN won't see ignoring him as any different than "no one reads Bills content" and it might lead to even less stories by the people we actually want writing about us.
  17. Then the whole negotiation was just a show, or a hope they'd get him to agree to a discount based upon emotional pleas. I've known he was gone for a while and think we can replace his production, I just don't understand the whole dog and pony show of meeting with him when we had the tools to ultimately control his destiny and didn't use them.
  18. I just don't understand why Whaley won't use the transition tag. I think the whole "we won't tag you so we can negotiate in good faith" is a BS approach, it's a business and these guys have a short shelf life, they are taking the most money 90% of the time, at least the transition tag gives us the chance to say yes or no to matching a deal. This is is one chance at a big contract. I can't blame him, he's doing the smart thing. We set a value on him, he thinks he's worth more, it's business. Good luck Jerry, as long as you don't go to Cleveland. If you do that I hope you break your leg.
  19. I can't see Cutler and his "TV Star" wife enjoying a relocation to WNY, plus as mentioned, there was a pretty public falling out with Kromer not even 6 months ago. Cassel can play the conservative role we need, if EJ beats him out in camp then great.
  20. There was also no chatter whatsoever about Kiko. He gets dealt and suddenly he's a GREAT young linebacker.
  21. What's Seantrel up to these days? Someone should tell him Cyrus is coming for his job.
  22. Sometimes I think Marshawn is a brilliant guy who grew up sheltered and is pulling a ruse on the media, other times I think he might be one of the 10 dumbest people walking the planet.
  23. NE moving on from anyone gives you pause, but I do think he's exactly the type of guy we need to plug into the middle of our defense if we really want to transition to more of a true 3-4. We lack a true NT, I worry about Kyle W. holding up in that position and I think it limits Dareus's effectiveness a bit.
  24. or Oakland or maybe Cleveland if they get desperate enough
  25. Julius Thomas is going to severely disappoint a fanbase this coming season. Let's hope it's not us.
