  1. Jets catch a break with that Giants game being one of their 8 "away" games. Dolphins catch a break of having their last 5 all in nice weather or a dome.
  2. We "only" have 3 games against teams coming off extra rest - Giants Week 4 (play on Thursday night football week 3) Dolphins Week 9 (Thursday night week 8, our bye week) Cowboys Week 16 (They play Saturday week 15). Unless I'm missing something, I don't think we are catching anyone coming off their bye week. A lot of attention being paid to the first two games, but IMO the stretch that will define our season is week 9 to 12 (Miami, @ Jets (Rex's return in primetime), @ Pats, @ Chiefs on a short week). Last 5 games look winable, in my mind if we are 6-5 through our first 11 we've got a chance. 7-4 and we are looking strong. 5-6 or worse and we are in trouble.
  3. Hooray, more garbage Giants football forced on us in prime time!
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football_on_Thanksgiving Some insight on Football on Thanksgiving there. I always remembered the Egg Bowl (Miss St. - Ole Miss) on Thanksgiving night (it was from 1998-2003). In my mind, Thanksgiving is for the NFL, Black Friday is for College. What would Sunday Night football be without Cowboys - Giants - Redskins games that mean nothing?
  5. 1. Jameis Winston - Bucs 2. Marcus Mariota - Eagles 3. Amari Cooper - Vikings 4. Todd Gurley - Chargers 5. Brett Hundley - Chargers Bills Pick - Stephone Anthony - LB - Clemson - Just a hunch, Whaley likes SEC/ACC guys and Rex has close ties to the Clemson program.
  6. Barksdale was the guy who stood out to me. He's only 26 so he should have some quality years left and graded out very well in the run game. He must want PAID.
  7. I'd trade 12 & 19 to get Leonard Williams 3rd or 4th. I think the Titans will likely be the same story as the Bradford-Foles trade, ie they aren't trading the 2nd pick unless they are getting a QB. I do expect the Jags & Raiders to be open to moving back. I think Williams is the clear top position player. Williams & Jameis are my two blue chips from this year. I think the next tier (in no particular order): Mariota, Cooper, Kevin White, Devante Parker, Brandon Scherff, La'el Collins, Fowler, Ray, Beasley, Waynes. People can have other guys they like in that tier, but IMO it's a 12 guy draft at the top. Waynes, the two tackles and the edge rushers aren't glaring needs for the Browns and 12 is a tough spot as you could get one of Cooper / White / Parker or you could get none of them. Consolidate the picks and remove the risk, putting Williams as a day 1 starter on the line. Looking at the draft, I'm really not heartbroken about losing 19. I expect all 12 of the guys I mentioned to be gone by then and realistically I think you can get nearly as good a prospect at 50 as 19. If the Browns do keep the pick, I know it wouldn't be popular with the fans but I'd seriously consider Gurley or Melvin Gordon. I view West as JAG and while Crowell showed some nice flashes, he was still a udfa. I worry they are going to put a heavy burden on West/Crowell and neither guy is in the Gurley/Gordon class. One of those two backs would give the team a difference maker to build the offense around while still having cheap quality depth at the position.
  8. Why does Spikes count in our comp pick formula unless he signs elsewhere? I don't see how resigning one of our guys would affect our return.
  9. If we signed Wisnewski I would immediately feel better about the line. He's gotta be asking for Mike Pouncy level money the way he keeps bouncing around visiting teams. There will be impact players available with both our picks, the question is if we land them. With Wisnewski aboard, I would be happy to go BPA twice and take a developmental lineman in our later picks.
  10. It's just the guys I'd like to see, they are likely all gone, but a guy can dream.
  11. Is Landon Collins unrealistic? McKinney, Cameron Erving, Jake Fisher, Arik Armstead, Maxx Williams, Shaq Thompson I'd be thrilled if we got one of those 7 guys.
  12. At minimum it beats what we were hearing about EJ at this time last year. The real question is has EJ made real progress or has the vibe at OBD just changed from pessimist Doug to optimist Rex?
  13. They look like something you'd get at Wal Mart crossed with something Bowling Green state U would wear.
  14. I've got plenty of enjoyment out of his site as well, I was just speaking to those getting upset with his projections. Mock drafters are like weathermen. People can follow the weather and know as much or more than the weatherman, the weatherman presents a more professional approach to a wider audience, but arguing about who the Bills are likely to pick at 50 is pretty close to arguing about the 10 day forecast.
  15. Walter Football is literally just some random dude who started making mock drafts and figured out how to get his site high in Google search results.
  16. Call me a debbie downer if you want, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think some breaks go against us this year, we lose a handful of close games and we end up with a top 10 pick after a 6-10/7-9 year. We already played the game of draft pick chicken regarding keeping our pick owed to someone else out of the top 10, I'd prefer not to do that again another just to get a guy in the 20s this year.
  17. The Sammy Watkins trade costs us a shot at a QB again!
  18. There's ~14 linemen in this draft that I'd be more than fine getting 2 from: Scherff, La'el Collins, Peat, Clemmings, Humphries, Flowers, Jake Fisher, Cann, Tomlinson, Jackson, Marpet, Kouandjio, Erving, Grasu. There might be a few others guys would put in that group or taken out, but that's mainly the gist of it. I'd really like to move down from 50, pick up an extra pick in the 4th or in '16 3rd and take two out of the above group. Glenn / Henderson / Kouandjio Icogntio / Urbik / (Richardson) / (Williams) Wood If we are going with 9 linemen, there's room for a guy in each the 2nd and 3rd round. That would put one of Urbik / Richardson / Williams on the chopping block, likely Williams as that would be the most cap favorable move and Urbik is likely our backup center (unless it's Richie). Aside from adding another pass rusher (can never have too many, though I imagine it'll be picked clean by 50), a MLB (some good ones projected around 50, landing someone on Brown's level to replace Kiko would be nice), or a traditional TE (should be a decent one available in the 5th) spending both picks on Olinemen to keep building a competitive deep group would be fine with me.
  19. I didn't say they needed to stop being Raiders fans, just saying the product is still in the marketplace. It's 2015, you can still easily keep up on the Raiders from 2,000 miles away regardless of them being in Oakland, San Antonio or St. Louis. I've always thought of the Raiders as one of the more transient franchises, with a fan base all over based upon people who saw Bo Jackson as a kid or love the silver & black. As has been mentioned, all 3 of these franchise have been in the LA market at one time, so it's not quite like you are moving the Browns to Baltimore, the Bills to Toronto or even the Jags to London. The Rams are going to move to LA, unless it gets blocked and the Chargers are likely gone to LA. The real question is where do the Raiders land, it's gotta be St. Louis or San Antonio I would imagine. The Chargers would be like the Bills to Toronto, but only if the Bills started in Toronto, arguably had more fans there, couldn't sell out their stadium and got to split the cost (at most) on a state of the art new one. I know plenty of Browns season ticket holders who live 3 hours away. Even if traffic is brutal, diehard Chargers fans can still make it to the game.
  20. Football-wise, I think Philly and Chip might be the best fit possible. Chip is doing it his way and he's fearless, if there's anyone going to get the best out of Johnny, I put him high on the list. It depends what pick they get. If they convince the Browns to give #12 and Johnny for Bradford, my hat's off to Chip, that puts the Eagles in position to grab Mariota and removes one of the primary threats to trade up. If they just move around 2nds to turn Foles into Johnny, that's a big fail. I'm curious about two potential factors, the first being I can't imagine Demarco would be too thrilled. The second is the conditional pick the Rams owe the Eagles. If Bradford plays less than 50% of the snaps, the Eagles get a 3rd. If he's not on the roster, how can he play 50% of the snaps?
  21. Ivory >>>>> Ridley The Jets also resigned Powell. I imagine Ridley is just a guy they are giving a shot with their ample cap room.
  22. The latest I've heard is Chargers and Rams to LA and the Raiders to St. Louis. If that's what happens, I don't think it's all that bad. The Chargers would be up the road a couple of hours and season ticket holders could still likely stay with the team. Plus it's beautiful year round in San Diego, given most of the city is transplants, I don't think it's too heartbreaking. As far as Oakland football fans go, they do have the 49ers right across the bay in a brand new stadium. If St Louis does land the Raiders, I think that will be an upgrade for that market. They've got a rivalry with the Chiefs already and St Louis vs KC in football could get pretty intense. Those moves would make the NFC West better with the Rams being more natural geographical rivals with the 49ers and Cardinals. I think at times it's tough for fans of a franchise that's such a part of the community like the Bills are to understand some different markets. So much of the markets in the west and south are transplant fans who tend to be older and have ingrained fandoms from other teams. I think there's good to be gained from some franchise movement.
  23. The Browns have gotta be "that guy" in your fantasy league who offers Rivers & Gates for Luck & Gronk and tells people he almost traded for Luck.
  24. I've been wanting to add Landry since the start of FA. We have some young safeties like Duke and Rambo who've shown flashes, but it would be nice to add a vet who knows Rex's defense on the back end. Landry, Spikes and maybe an edge rushing project in round 3 or 5 and this defense is set personnel wise.
  25. People would be shocked if they knew how many players are completely on Richie's side and think Martin is the one who doesn't belong in the locker room. As with Harvin & Rex, talk is cheap, put us back in the playoffs and all will be right in the eyes of Bills fans.
