  1. Thanks dude, so glad I found this place. I read Buffalo Rumblings for years but the comments section there isn't overly conducive to a conversation. I love football and love the Bills, this is my only outlet to talk to anyone else who knows something about the team.
  2. I didn't even realize Tuel was a choice, at this point I don't see him as anything but a camp arm.
  3. I'd have to imagine EJ's seat would be very warm. It'll come down to Taylor and him and it seems like Rex has spent a lot more time talking up Taylor. Cassel isn't going anywhere, worst case he's going to be the vet in the film room and on the sidelines (like how the Colts keep Hasselback around Luck). If we did take Petty (or Hundley) it would not surprise me one bit to see EJ flipped for a ~5th before the weekend is out. I really only see 6 draftable QBs, though other people might like some of the small school guys.
  4. I think first-pick.com's is way more fun (and likely more accurate, though there's some random chance built into theirs), but here goes: 50: R2P18 G LAKEN TOMLINSON DUKE Took Tomlinson here as I expected the other guards to be gone before we pick again. 81: R3P17 G A.J. CANN SOUTH CAROLINA The first pick where I said "what the heck?!". I expect Cann to be gone long before our 3rd round pick. I just couldn't pass him up. Cann & Tomlinson could plug in and be our starting guards for the next decade. 155: R5P19 S CODY PREWITT OLE MISS 6'2" safety who runs a 4.4 and was 2 time 1st team all SEC? Yes please. 188: R6P12 TE JESSE JAMES PENN STATE Shocked to see James fall this far. Prototypical big TE we could really use and seems like an absolute steal in the 6th. 194: R6P18 OT ROB HAVENSTEIN WISCONSIN Going back to another Olineman here seemed like a bit of overkill, but Havenstein is going in the 2nd - 3rd round likely, so he was too good of a value to pass over in the 6th. Suddenly we are loaded full of young oline prospects that with proper coaching should really form a solid unit in a few years. 234: R7P17 CB IFO EKPRE-OLOMU OREGON Another guy who was too good of value. He's a likely 1st round pick before his injury. In the 7th we can stash him, allow him to really rehab properly and have a real find.
  5. Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Dante Fowler, Leonard Williams That's my complete list of guys I'd be fine moving up to get. Considering no one is trading out of the top 5 for pick #50 and a '16 pick in the teens, I'll be upset if we make any sort of move like that.
  6. Pretty much what I expected. I don't think a QB is realistically in play for us in the 2nd, but one of Petty/Grayson/Hundley in the 3rd may be too much value to pass up.
  7. Yeah! I mean we could have had the 5th best tackle, the 5th best WR or a good backup for Mario & Hughes to pair with a TE who showed very little last year. What an idiot!
  8. I would be there as I've got family in Chicago, but my wife and I are expecting a baby any day now so being 6 hours away so close to the due date was not going to happen.
  9. As I mentioned in the Shoutbox, the only way I see this going down is as a 3 way deal. Way too risky for Philly to trade Bradford for assets as step 1, if your offer for Tennessee gets trumped by the Jets then you are left with a Sanchez/Tebow/Barkley depth chart and 2 picks right where the talent falls off. On a related note, I'm really hoping Philly's QB depth chart is Sanchez/Tebow/Barkley. Philly is the one NFC East team I don't hate, but seeing Chip overplay his hand and being left with that would be too funny.
  10. Or hold our breaths that Whaley doesn't trade our 2nd and next year's 1st for some random tackle.
  11. I'm leaving work early today to help chaperone my wife's school field trip to COSI. AKA I'm going to play at COSI. Combine that with draft day and the productivity is not going to be high.
  12. Yes, and the PFT story last night before I went to bed was that he never showed up to talk to the investigators.
  13. Is there an update to the Collins story? Last I heard was police didn't know where he was.
  14. I thought McCown signed for the same money as Orton, the Browns offered a 3 year deal but I believe it's not guaranteed. And yes, I realize I can look all this up, but I'm feeling lazy today, it's a holiday.
  15. Browns are going to trade 19 to the Eagles for Bradford. Kiko isn't going anywhere. Eagles are going to trade 19, 20, Boykin, Michael Kendricks and likely one more pick, either a 2nd this year or next year's 1st to go to #2. The Browns are going to have ended up trading Sammy Watkins for a corner who can't play and a chronically injured QB on the last year of his deal who already said he doesn't want to sign long term in Cleveland.
  16. #19 for Bradford (on the final year of his deal) is just dumb and so Browns. Anything less and I like it as worst case it buys a year for Johnny to sit and develop. I'd be livid if I was DeMarco and the Eagles used Bradford to recruit me or if I were McCown and the Browns told him he had a very good chance to start (from my understand, that's why he picked them over us).
  17. 5th this year and conditional 4th/5th next year, make it happen Doug. Answers our biggest remaining hole (outside of QB) and allows us to go BPA in the 2nd and 3rd.
  18. Oh I complete agree. The Giants got to a point last year where they almost exclusively threw the ball to ODB. They also got their butts kicked a lot. I'm sure Sammy would have impressed a lot more people had he gotten 20 targets per game while we got smoked.
  19. I hear the concerns regarding QB and Oline, but anyone who thinks Sammy doesn't help improve those spots is kidding themselves. Belichick himself said Watkins was the guy they game planned for and adjusted coverages towards. Woods is a nice player, but he isn't going to do that and Stevie never did as well. When you have a player that requires extra attention it changes the dimensions of the defense, a safety needs to shade over instead of sneaking into the box and it opens up lanes. Anyone who can't see the positive impact a true #1 wr has on a team, even a team that wants to go "ground & pound" and doesn't have a QB, just isn't going to understand. Look no further than the Pats offense, it's a completely different animal when Gronk is healthy. You can scheme all you want, at the end of the day it's a game of inches that comes down to playmakers being able to make plays. Our offense and team as a whole is better off with Sammy than with Ebron and whoever goes 19 this year.
  20. I guess I am wrong, genius Chip Kelly knew he'd be the best player in the draft, but instead of trying to move up 10 picks to get him he decided he needed a good strong guy to carry water around practice and took Marcus Smith instead.
  21. I don't see the Jets trading him for a 2nd given his age and production. If that's the case, trade #50 for him and we'll figure out the cap when it gets to that.
  22. Here's the real question - If Odell Beckham didn't do what he did, would this still even be a discussion? I don't hear anyone but the most delusional Browns fans saying they'd trade Watkins for Justin Gilbert and the 19th pick in this draft. Most people seem to be getting hung up on Beckham without realizing no one had him valued at #9 and bringing him up is some serious revisionist history. It's clearly worth it, Sammy came up huge in a couple of wins last year and we haven't had a WR of his caliber since Moulds was in his prime.
  23. I can see both sides of the RG3 trade. The Rams haven't exactly stacked talent from the trade, outside of their DLine it's a whole roster that makes you say "Meh, he's ok". It's tough to argue the Deadskins aren't feeling the pain, their roster is very thin and RG3 has been nothing but a headache after his rookie year. Bottom line, Shanahan never should have left him in that playoff game, he's never recovered. I've been saying for a while the difference between the prospects at 19 and 50 is very small. The public perception of trading a 1st vs a 2nd is much bigger than the actual talent between the two spots in this draft. Nice to see a guy like Clayton acknowledge that as well, I think there's plenty of national people who owe Whaley an "I was wrong".
  24. SEC player in a murder investigation? The Pats have called dibs.
  25. If they don't get the right price before the draft, I could see them taking him at #2 and then auctioning him once he's actually off the board. Sounds like Mariota is hoping for Philly or San Diego.
