The signing of Mario was the first big FA landing since I believe Bryce Paup (could be missing someone). It signaled the end of signing guys from the D list while overpaying. Assuming we do start winning, that's my turning point.

Apparently there's a backstory to the backstory. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2015/05/01/jameis-winston-wasnt-trolling-with-his-crab-legs-photo-he-got-them-from-a-deadliest-catch-captain/ Jameis apparently just doesn't understand how much he's hated and that the internet lost their sense of humor a few years ago.

"Watch this, just got picked #1 overall, gonna eat these crab legs then take this girl into the back against her will and no one will try to stop me."

I like him as a pure football player, but Collins seems like a dinosaur from a past era, related to the Roy Williams / Mike Doss "in the box" type safeties. Now teams want guys like Demareus Randall, McCourty, Byrd, Aaron Williams who can both play in zone as well as cover guys. Collins struggles with both of those aspects.

Tampa's gotta go Oline, Jameis is going to get killed behind that unit. Jake Fisher or TJ Cummings.
-
I really just want one of AJ Cann or Jake Fisher and one of Eric Kendricks, Bernardrick McKinney or Denzel Perryman. Trade our 5th, 2 6ths and 7th to make that happen. Spend Saturday setting up the UDFA list, hit that hard as soon as round 7 ends and sell them on not having to compete with other drafted rookies for a spot.

I think his hearts in a good place, my problem is this process isn't a MTV confessional, it's a job interview. He should honestly answer the questions asked of him, but if I'm interviewing some kid and he goes off on a tangent about emotional issues he's dealing with or makes confessions and tells me he hasn't even told his family that information, I'm probably going to say "this guy has a screw loose, pass."

TRADE DOWN.......the smart thing to do.
Chuck Wagon replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Teams just aren't in love with guys in this draft. Two trades in the first round and only doing it with 5ths doesn't suggest someone is going to be tossing around a 3rd or even 4th to move around in the 2nd. Teams want as many darts as possible this year in hopes of hitting a blind bullseye. -
Even bigger than the drug tests is he's got serious questions about his love for the game and often simply seemed like he didn't care to flip on his motor during games last year. Granted he wouldn't be the first chronic smoker to have motivation questions.

TRADE DOWN.......the smart thing to do.
Chuck Wagon replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The value isn't there for a trade down, judging off yesterday the best we could hope for is 2 5ths to move down 5 spots or more. No one is handing out a 3rd to move from #50 to #60. There's going to be a quality prospect at 50, just take them. -
What Would It Take To Get Mettenberger?
Chuck Wagon replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mettenberger and Zach Stacy requesting trades is too funny. Stacy especially. Hate to break it to you buddy, but you were relegated to the bench well before Todd Gurley was a Ram. -
Was the trade for Watkins worth it?
Chuck Wagon replied to Luxy312's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, I believe part of his offer from Jax the Browns matched said he couldn't be tagged again. He's going to exercise his option and walk. Too bad for them the Browns think they can contend for a playoff spot, they should shop him today to see what they can get. -

Trying to think of the best way to say he's slang for a cat and a part of the female anatomy. -

When the Erving pick came in it should have come with a message that said "Thanks for all you've done Alex Mack, we wish you luck with your new employer in 2016". Also thought it was pretty awkward when Thomas Davis was announced as man of the year then read off a guy who'll likely replace him if everything goes according to plan. -
If Clemmings / Cann / Fisher and Landon Collins are gone, I seriously consider La'el. Assuming all clears up you can't beat the value, but there's a lot unknown and if he's in any way involved it's a complete loss.
-
That was my big takeaway from the night, the price to move up seems much lower than anyone realized. I can't believe the lack of movement overall, no one wants to give up a 2nd or 3rd. The value on positions of need may not be close.

Disappointing seeing the Olinemen fly off. Hoping for one of: Landon Collins TJ Clemmings AJ Cann Jake Fisher Eric Kendricks Bernardrick McKinney Paul Dawson Denzel Perryman Maxx Williams

I hadn't heard the Chicago tidbit. It seems there's some pressure on them to (as Anthony Molina would say in Draft Day) make everyone wet.

Him too

Freddie is a great guy.....he's not the 3rd best undrafted player in the league. I'd have to say it's between Michael Bennett, Chris Harris and Cameron Wake. Notable undrafteds 2013 - CJ Anderson - Pro Bowler last year 2012 - Burfict , Tayshaun Gipson 2011 - Chris Harris - Denver corner, Pro Bowler last year , Doug Baldwin 2010 - Victor Cruz 2009 - Foster , Alex Boone, Michael Bennett 2008 - No one really of note 2007 - Ditto 2006 - Tramon Williams, Brent Grimes 2005 - Brandon Browner, Cameron Wake 2004 - Jason Peters, Wes Welker 2003 - Romo, Antonio Gates

How does your top 10 fall tonight? Throw them out there, lets see who gets the most right and start some none Bills draft talk. Fair warning, a bunch of trades ahead. 1) Bucs - Jameis - At this point, short of the ESPN crew showing up to his house and finding it full of hookers and blow, he'll go #1. 2) Eagles - Mariota - The latest reports have the Jets, Browns & Chargers all pulling out of the Mariota hunt and the Eagles bidding against themselves. I think it's a 3 team trade with the Titans getting 19, 20, the Eagles '16 1st and a couple of guys like Michael Kendricks and Brandon Boykin, Mariota to Philly and Bradford to Cleveland. 3) Falcons - Dante Fowler - Quinn recruited him to Florida, edge rusher is one of their biggest needs and they've got a history of big draft moves. 4) Raiders - Leonard Williams - He said he wanted to be a Raider when he declared and they make it happen, putting him into their front 7 along with Mack to have two swiss army knives they can move all over. 5) Vikings - Amari Cooper - The Redskins really want to move back for more picks, Cooper was high school teammates with Bridgewater and gives them a security blanket he can grow his career with. 6) Rams - Kevin White - Worst case scenario for the Jets with that top 4 gone, so they move down and allow the Rams to jump the Bears for White. 7) Bears - Brandon Scherff - Also nightmare scenario for the Bears as the 4 guys who went in front of them would be ideal. Take the best Olineman and fit him into a porous unit. 8) Jaguars - Todd Gurley - Our first big surprise. They invested in WR early last year, signed Julius Thomas in the offseason, but still have Gerhart & Robinson as their primary backs. Taking Gurley here gives them a guy their fanbase is familiar with and gives Bortles a bellcow back to help open up the game. 9) Browns - DeVante Parker - I had them grabbing Bradford with pick 19, they get tired of waiting and praying Parker falls to them so they decide to make the move up to get their young WR, cashing in some of their 3rds and 4ths they've accumulated. 10) Jets - Andrus Peat - The Jets fall back to 10 and grab the guy they were eyeing at #6, Peat can push Giacomini for the RT spot and give them a long term replacement for Brick at the LT spot.
