If Cobb and Edelman are barely squeezing in, no way Sammy makes it. Odell Beckham might crack the top 10 though.

La'El Collins signs with the Cowboys
Chuck Wagon replied to SBUffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Son of a biscut Once we didn't draft him he wasn't going to be a Bill and I applaud Rex for giving it a valiant effort. All around home run on this offseason everywhere but the Oline and you can't say they didn't try. -
Deflate-gate investigation complete

The problem I have with Tags vs Goodell is the way Goodell operates in a "gotcha" mindset. This went on all year, if not years. When Tags was commissioner, he would have dealt with it by going to Kraft, saying "we are watching this, you'd better cut it out" and that would be that. With Goodell, he's going to wait for everything to blow up in the media, let it spin out of control for a while, make the Patriots feel like "if this was a problem, why didn't you say something?", make every fan of other teams want their pound of flesh after hearing the nonstop media frenzy, then level a random and inconsistent punishment. -
I tend to look more at the reasoning than the result. If you come with a fair assessment (ie it's an unproven offensive line in flux that will need to be relied upon heavily in order to have an effective ground & pound attack, the defense has their third coordinator and scheme in 3 years so there may be an adjustment period, etc) then I don't have a problem where you rank the team. Too often the analysis is simply lazy and misinformed (the old "it's the Bills, who is their QB, they'll be bad"). Kiper is especially bad in this regard, in his draft grade he ripped us because he said we could have drafted Mike Evans without trading last year, then ripped us for not taking Bryce Petty (who went 1.5 rounds after he thought he should) and ripped Darby, saying he's a 4th rounder when other analyst have him as a fringe 1st. There's some good analysts out there who form solid opinions, then there are talking heads who deal in extremes and often have a clueless take. Most of the later type work for a network with 4 letters as its name.

While I'm really hoping Rex made an impression on Monday night and we get a first round pick for free, I agree with this. They wanted to be moved into the supplemental draft before last Thursday. He wasn't drafted. Police have said he wasn't involved. Roger should snap out of heartless robot mode and understand this is a rare circumstance and help him get his career back on track.

Rumor: Chip Kelly to the Titans?
Chuck Wagon replied to Juice_32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's absolutely ridiculous but at the same time it makes a lot of sense. It wouldn't shock me if the Eagles were getting tired of Chip's act pretty quickly, I've said before if they fall apart this year and are bad, it could get real ugly quickly with the players he's cut/traded/resigned being very popular guys with fans. The Titans can't be overly enamored with Wisenhunt after one season of ending up with the 2nd pick. Obviously Mariota is the future, why wouldn't you want to bring in the coach who gives him the best chance of success? -
Prediction Time! What Will Tom Brady's Punishment Be?
Chuck Wagon replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one ever accused them of being intelligent, I'm sure equipment guys break NFL rules all the time without being prompted as they know what will make the players comfortable. -

4 games, can't be less with the Farmer suspension. 4 games is more than a slap on the wrist but doesn't completely wreck the Pats season. -
Deflate-gate investigation complete

Right on, it's the NFL opener + more people would enjoy seeing them get destroyed than would want to see a celebration of all things Pats at this point. -
Deflate-gate investigation complete

The report is pretty incriminating. They basically had everything short of "we have these guys doing it on video tape". I can't see how it's just a slap on the wrist, especially the way Brady publicly denied everything and this report rips his denial to shreds. Add in Kraft publicly demanding an apology and they are daring the NFL to take significant action. -

If Ray Farmer gets 4 games for sending texts, there should be a march on NFL offices if Brady gets anything less for lying, failing to cooperate in the investigation and bribing equipment guys. -

If he hasn't been already, that guy is getting the axe from the organization. -

If the GM gets a 4 game suspension for sending some texts, what does the QB get for ordering balls to be doctored? -
Deflate-gate investigation complete
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way I read it it's all Brady, the equipment guys didn't want to do it and he had to bribe them to keep it happening. Add in his refusal to cooperate with the investigation and Mr. Brady may have some extra time off this fall. -

Suspend Brady and BB for two games would be pretty fantastic, having Jimmy Garropolo and no BB in week 2. -
Just to further attempt to put the "Why not pick him in the 7th round?" discussion to bed. The 32nd pick in the draft gets a signing bonus of ~$3.5 mil with a total value ~$7 mil. Collins as a UDFA gets about $1.1 mil over 3 years. A 7th round pick is in the same ball park. There's a tremendous financial incentive to sit out for a year (or go play in Canada or something similar) if he were eligible to reenter the 2016 draft.

Bills fall to 19 in ESPN Post Draft Rankings
Chuck Wagon replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Almost every single other media outlet recognizes we were a good team that improved this offseason through FA. It's pretty much just one (along with their troll) who isn't giving us any credit. -
Ha, that's how the Browns board I lurk on is. One poster will say a random linebacker is the best in the league, one random guy will say "he's ok" and it will set off a firestorm of accusations about Steelers fans, name calling with words I can't believe are allowed on a public forum and people saying "if you don't like the Browns, there's the door." It's one of the lowest football IQ collections I've seen in one place.
