  1. Out of that list, Spriggs. Should be able to lock down RT, and improve our depth or give Henderson/Kujo a chance to compete inside at RG. Bell is a reasonably close second with Shepard 3rd. I'd be really disappointed with Cook / Johnson / Whitehair.
  2. Espn is all hot takes and cheap shots. NFL net doesn't resort to parlor tricks.
  3. There's nearly 10 guys left I could have been happy to take in the 1st round. Hopefully guys like Conner Cook and Derrick Henry go before our pick.
  4. I expect Lynch to go between 7 - 12. The 49ers / Browns / Bears / Saints could all be in play for him.
  5. Daniel Jeremiah & Bucky Brooks just said the top of the draft is looking like: 1 - Goff 2 - Wentz 3- Buckner 4- Ramsey 5 - ??????? Trade ???? (Jville keeps things very close) 6 - Tunsil or Stanley 7 - Tunsil or Stanley (if one is left) 8 - Bosa 9 - Hargreaves 10 - Floyd
  6. I imagine Philly would love to recoup a draft pick for Sam, but this late in the game I don't see anyone stepping up to pay that contract. If you are the Jets, why are you trading a draft pick to pay Bradford the same amount of money Fitz wants? Denver doesn't have the room to pay that. The Browns are rolling with RG3. That's pretty much it in regards to anyone who has an opening to let him play.
  7. I have a feeling it's going to be Chris Jones. Versatile defensive linemen fits Rex's MO and our team needs. I would love it if we didn't have to give up much to move up and get one of the blue chip guys. I'd also love it if we were able to sell our pick to someone who wanted Lynch and picked up an extra 2nd or early 3rd. I would hate it if we look at corner as I think that signals goodbye to Gilmore.
  8. The only guys I'd consider over Glenn would be Tunsil or Stanley and the only DB I might want over Gilmore is Ramsey. All of them are likely gone well before a pick we could get for Glenn or Gilmore.
  9. Carson Wentz : Eagles Jared Goff : Rams Ezekiel Elliot : Bears Laquon Treadwell : Bengals Paxton Lynch : Cowboys Bills Pick (bonus) : Dodd
  10. I'm kind of surprised none of the offensive guys down the depth chart followed Herman to Houston. I know Greg Ward is no slouch at QB, but I would be surprised if they had a better RB than Dunn.
  11. The Buckeyes coaching staff & playcalling did Cardale no favors this year. I'm kind of curious what his status would be had he pulled the cord and gone to Carson Wentz's level of competition right off the National Title.
  12. I still think it's more likely they move down once or twice more from #8 than they move up from #32. They already have 8 picks in the top 141, it wouldn't be shocking to see them get up to 11-12 picks in that range. By sheer volume they'd have to have one of the worst drafts ever to not get at least 4-5 guys who can really play out of that, 5 guys who can really play in the draft is a major win for any franchise.
  13. There's a rumor floating that the Browns might be interested in Paxton Lynch. Because, Browns.
  14. The local buzz in Ohio has been for a long time that "these QBs just aren't any good". Everyone I've talked to is thrilled with the move. Given what the Rams and Eagles have given up, I think it's pretty safe to assume the knocks about "small hands" and "subpar competition" is more smokescreen than actual criticism. If they've dealt away a franchise QB, it's a tough pill to swallow.
  15. I fully expect the Browns to move down again.
  16. Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah were talking about Bosa on their podcast last week. They were saying inside the scouting community there's almost no buzz about him at all and given the depth of the dline class he's the one guy the media might be most wrong about on his range. If he is the target, it might not take much at all to end up with him, but I don't think he presents enough athletic ability and versatility to be a guy Rex is really overly interested in.
  17. Create a sack You can do things scheme wise to "stop a sack", get the ball out of the QBs hands quickly, shade your protections, screens, etc. One dominant LT is pretty avoidable (ie Von Miller lines up over the RT, JJ Watt lines up all over). A dominant pass rusher changes the game more, you are forcing the offense to adapt and (especially with a guy like Watt) you can move him all over to create problems. I think a "franchise LT" is one of the most overrated spots in the NFL. Teams like the Packers / Pats / Broncos / Steelers have won super bowls without "franchise LTs" while Joe Thomas has been one of the best in the game for the last decade and the Browns have routinely looked like a pop warner offense and Tyron Smith hasn't stopped Romo from getting knocked out of multiple seasons.
  18. I think the Browns are going to move and they are simply going to take the best offer they have when they hit the clock. I agree with this, I think they drop to #7 then look to drop again. NFL moneyball is likely a pretty simple concept, load up on as many picks before the middle of the 3rd round as possible, that's when the vast majority of good players will go and you want as many darts as possible with the hope one or more of your picks equals the quality available at #2.
  19. I expect a lot of movement with this draft. I think Philly will be the team to move up to #2, right now the big hang up is likely seeing who the Rams pick. I hear some of the concerns about the Browns wanting too much, but ultimately I think the money ball approach is to take multiple picks and have multiple chances, they'll take the best offer on the table. There's some real intrigue in Tennessee potentially moving back up, if they are sold on one of Tunsil / Ramsey / Stanley, they could easily move up from #15 with all the draft capital they've amassed. If the Browns move back to #7, I would not be shocked one bit if they move down again from there, or if they take a guy like Stanley then Thomas might be dealt before the weekend is up.
  20. The only guy I really want in this draft class is Ramsey. Lock down the outside with Gilmore & Darby then use Ramsey as a hybrid safety/nickel back allowing us to take 3 WRs one on one with our base defense. I would trade #19 and our 2nd or '17 1st for him. But it's ultimately a moot point if a deal can't get done with Gilmore long term. Otherwise, the past 16 years have turned me pretty apathetic on the whole thing. I think Whaley has done a decent job, and by that I mean he isn't royally screwing things up like we were during the Maybin years. We aren't winning anything without a real QB and Tyrod isn't making it through 16 games most years. If we trade the farm for Goff or Wentz and they hit, it's a game changer for us. If we do it and they bust out it doesn't really change much, we would still just be a 6-10 to 9-7 range team. That type of move would sum up the Rex Ryan Bills perfectly, a whole lot of noise, gets us talked about on ESPN, but without real results we are still just the same place we've been for nearly 2 decades.
  21. When is the last time an ESPN reporter asked tough questions or put someone on the spot?
  22. Given Glenn / Gilmore / Tyrod's contract situations, I'm worried we might find ourselves in a Denver situation with what happened with Jackson/Miller/Brock. I think Whaley will want to have his back covered if Tyrod is the guy he can't tag and gets blown away with an offer.
  23. It might be surprising, but I think we are taking Paxton Lynch.
  24. 32 teams want to trade down in this draft.
