Josh Gordon - Would you trade for him?
Chuck Wagon replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think our biggest (maybe final) need offensively is a big WR who can line up outside and compliment Sammy across the field, allowing Woods to work primarily from the slot. We have some guys internally who could be that, but they are all unproven. Gordon could also fill that need, but his breakout year was a while ago at this point and he's too unreliable to give up what the Browns would want. So yes, I'd take him for dirt cheap, but the Browns aren't going to give him up for dirt cheap. -
We win 7 of our last 10, miss the playoffs again and get a crap draft pick.

Eagles Trade for Dorial Green-Beckham
Chuck Wagon replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep, sounds like an all around train wreck of a guy, but if he put it together on paper he'd be a perfect complement to Watkins & Woods. -
Sign one of the guards, Boldin, Hardy & Freeney. #Iveheardofthem

Where's the media's pound of flesh about the Titans using a high draft pick on an injured guy?

Ron Brooks and Leodis McKelvin...... Philly's Starting CB's?
Chuck Wagon replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have Sammy's brother Jaylen as well. I would expect Rowe & Carroll will be their starting CBs with McKelvin as the nickle, but McKelvin & Brooks obviously have experience with Schwartz. -
Bills related Time Travel - What would you change?
Chuck Wagon replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The 2004 draft, but a different direction from Roethlisberger, use my 1st round pick on Vince Wilfork / 2nd on Bob Sanders / 3rd on Matt Schaub / 4th on Jared Allen then told Donahue he had to get Aaron Rodgers and Justin Tuck in 2015. We would then be able to swap Schaub for the haul the Falcons got 3 years later (Schaub + #10 overall for #8 overall + 2 2nds) while having a guy to allow Rodgers to develop like he did and our defensive line would be loaded with Wilfork (never a Pat) / Allen / Tuck / Schobel and Chris Kelsay never gets paid/ never has to play a large role. -
Not everyone at ESPN is pessimistic about the Bills...

The good thing about Joyner is all of his analysis is deeply rooted in statistical study. The bad thing about Joyner is all of his analysis is deeply rooted in statistical study. He's really good with his numbers, but sometimes they can completely lack any sort of context. -
I'd be perfectly fine to never see a Cleveland team win a title. Their fans are the worst, no one cares as much as them and no one else has had heartbreaking losses. If only one of their teams broke through to win a sports championship it would suddenly be 20 degrees warmer in the winter and the steel industry would open up all the boarded up factories. I know plenty of people who "love Cleveland" and moved away as soon as they could. I thought it was a bad 30 for 30. The beauty of the 30 for 30 series is deep diving on one game / one team during a particular period of time. Trying to talk about 50 years of a cities history and sports teams in 90 minutes along with the ending just left it feeling like an ESPN Infomercial for Lebron James and the NBA playoffs.

Bill Barnwell's AFC East offseason report cards
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The good national guys will readily admit fans know way more about their teams than they do. The guys on NFL radio are really good and will defer to callers on their individual teams. The four letter network does not have this approach, they prefer to come off as know-it-alls peddling in hot-takery. They have a consistent approach on the Bills that borders on professional trolling because they know that drives more clicks. -
Bill Barnwell's AFC East offseason report cards

For some "analysts" trading up is never a good move. It's never worth the 20% chance you got Ladarius Green or Jaye Howard to make sure you get the guy you want. -
Bill Barnwell's AFC East offseason report cards
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a Giants fan, so I don't really understand why he's always so negative when it comes to the Bills. I'd think most teams would be thrilled to have a homegrown #1 WR / LT / 2 Corners / 3 DL (I think Hughes counts as "homegrown" we bought low and he broke out with us) who are all right on the edge of being All Pro level talent. -
Bill Barnwell's AFC East offseason report cards
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not typically big on "this national guy always knocks us", but Barnwell always knocks the Bills. Last year he put us in the "Bottom 7 - teams with no prayer" portion of his season preview. Reading the column, that's about the most brutal write up for a "B" offseason I've ever seen. The "things they did right" was full of negativity and the "things they did wrong" included a nice potshot about being low on homegrown drafted talent. -
2017 NFL Mock Drafts & Top Prospects
Chuck Wagon replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Why do all of these have the Browns going QB? Haven't they heard the little birds out of Cleveland saying they got Russell Wilson 2.0 in Cody Kessler? -
Sam "has the starting QB job" now, but he and everyone else should know if it's anywhere close and Wentz looks anywhere near ready then he's the guy. The Eagles and Broncos can claim all they want about redshirting Wentz and Lynch, but if they look ready they are playing. It's musical chairs at QB and the Eagles just brought in a chair that says "reserved for Carson". Sam knows it and he knows he's screwed if he's not head and shoulders the best. He came into the league as a golden child and it's the first time he's really faced opposition, his reaction has already spoken loud and clear across the league.

Bears release Matt Slauson -Signed w/ San Diego
Chuck Wagon replied to JM57's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The transition from a spread college offensive lineman to a NFL system is a very hard one to make. I thought Miller performed admirably, considering what he ran at Louisville is nothing like we asked him to do. Often times the goal with rookie olinemen is to redshirt them (like the Cardinals did with DJ Humphries last year), so let's not close the book on Miller yet. That being said, I do hope we add Slauson as depth and competition on the oline can't hurt, especially since we did not address it during the draft. -
2016 NFL Top 100 - will any Bills make it?
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sammy and Dareus are probably locks. Gilmore wouldn't surprise me. Shady (though he had a bad year) / Tyrod / Glenn wouldn't shock me. Darby would be very surprising, his national pub died down in the second half of last year. -
Vote: Which Teams Had The Best Draft On Paper?
Chuck Wagon replied to Marty McFly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am a huge fan of the Jags offseason in general, adding arguably 2 top 5 players in this draft is a cherry. Their offense showed signs of breakthrough towards the end of last year and Ivory answers a big need for them in short yardage. They are adding Fowler - Malik Jackson - Ramsey - Jack, all of which could (should) be impact players this season. -
Is anyone else refreshed to not see every single grade say "The Bills are ineligible from having an A draft because they traded a 1st round pick for Sammy Watkins"?
-
From the limited amount I've seen on him, he seems like a guy we could use like the Cardinals use Deone Bucannon. A special teams ace and a potential nickle ILB. Surprised he went undrafted when those type of players are currently the rage (guys like Neal and Lee going in the top 20).

Dallas Offered Us Their 2nd and 3rd for #19
Chuck Wagon replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I felt the talent really dropped off around pick 60, that's when you stopped seeing guys who were viewed as borderline 1st round picks and started seeing picks like Aguayo. Pick 67 is Dallas' pick, they took Maliek Collins, who is a nice prospect but far from a sure thing. It would have hurt if we moved down to 34 and saw Ogbah and Dodd go 32-33, though we still could have ended up with Ragland and someone like Noah Spence or Jarran Reed (who went at pick 49). I think Dallas needed to toss in the '17 1st. Something like #34 - '17 1st for #19 & a couple of 4ths. -

Trade the rest of our draft picks this year for Vonn Bell and let's go.
