Anyone who wouldn’t deal 9 + 40 for Williams is nuts.

I'll go the opposite of everyone. I think Williams is Beane's #1 player by a comfortable margin. All along the Jets have been reportedly desperately wanting to move down. If you recall back to 2013, the Raiders desperately wanted to move down from 3, eventually taking only 12 & 42 to do it because it was the best offer. I don't think Beane would hesitate to do #9 & #40 to make sure we walks out with Williams. I have a hard time believing it given the division rival part. But it's not ludicrous.

Really hard to see them trade Julio. The value in trading Ridley to go from 14 to 9 feels off (though he's certainly a guy we should know pretty well considering Daboll and Foster). They don't have anyone else who approaches real value in making a jump up the board, Hardy and Sanu are nice players but are more like window dressing in a trade. BUT #9 & #40 for #14, #79 & Julio would treat Julio as being worth roughly pick #35, which might be pretty solid value considering his age and the usual price tag on expensive vets.

YPP picks required to move up/down with #9 attached

I've wondered about the Giants. They haven't been mentioned ever as a team willing to move down, though rumors about them have been all over the board. If they are going to take a QB, don't think the value is right taking it at 6 but don't expect he'd be there at 17, might they consider a move down (Jacksonville / Detroit surely aren't taking QB, though it opens it up for a team to move in front of them) in return for another day 2 pick. That could potentially let them get the QB they want while also getting a "bonus" pick. -

Feels like the thing I'd be most surprised about is actually picking at 9. Beane has shown himself to be very aggressive in the past and I believe I remember hearing an earlier interview about them not planning on drafting as high as 9 again anytime soon and needing to knock this one out of the park, so a move up would seem to fit his MO. On the flip side I think our spot is perfect for someone who wants to move up an get a hot player like Devin Bush or grab one of the QBs. -
In this scenario, I think the Falcons would be moving up for Bush, not Oliver. IMO if Oliver is on the board by 7 I think we do something like our 3rd for Jacksonville's 4th to move up.

Can we just have one "post your scenarios" topic and dump all these LAMP into it? -
If you consider Bosa / Williams / Allen to be unrealistic, I'm really hoping for Oliver, White or a trade down. Basically echo what NewEra said. I think there's 5 "blue chip" guys and would love to get one of them (willing to trade up to do it, I'm more willing to give up pick 40 if we get a ~4th back than most). Absent those 5 guys, we are likely to get the same level player at 9 as at ~15.

Giants select in the first round ...

Haskins I think he's the guy they've wanted all along. -
Murray goes 1 Bosa goes 2 Washington goes full Washington and trades to 3, takes Jones. Giants panic and flip with Oakland, take Haskins at 4. Tampa takes White at 5 Raiders, fully flushed with picks, takes the guy Gruden supposedly loves in Lock at 6. Bills give the Jags their 3rd and get Williams at 7.

If the price is right, I think we move up to get Williams. If not and he's on the board, we take Oliver at 9. If neither, I think we are moving down.
