  1. If Garcon is starting at $16 mil I'm not making any predictions on where these deals are going to end up.

  3. Between Mixon, Baker and lying about 40 times Oklahoma is starting to seem jealous at the attention Baylor is getting.
  4. I think the money they get in FA is going to tell a different story.
  5. I like the Kujo - LT / Cordy - RT formation, but I don't think Cordy does and if Kujo shines he's going to be very expensive to retain, so either you are starting over anyway or in the same position you argue against.
  6. My other counter point. Rookie QBs are very cheap. I'd certainly feel better about a rookie QB (or Cardale, another cheap option)'s chances of success behind a very good Oline. Signing Wagner could increase the comfort level of flipping Tyrod for a draft pick (if that option is on the table), freeing up another large chunk of cap space and moving forward with a more cost efficient higher upside option at QB.
  7. So a strong oline doesn't help a mobile QB? I'd think any QB or RB would benefit being behind a strong oline. Certainly helped a pair of rookies shine in Dallas.
  8. Thanks for helping sum up what I've been trying to say. The importance of LT - RT has shifted some, from LT being a premium position and RT being an after thought. Balance is more important now as defenses are going to attack your weakest point regardless of where you put it. Dallas just showed what a dominant OLine can do in the league at this point, controlling the clock dramatically helped their defense by keeping it off the field and it helped Dak develop. We have one massive hole in our line keeping us from that level, Wagner would fill it emphatically. While it's not a "premium" position, I don't view it as a waste of resources.
  9. He's going to be a very interesting player to watch in the draft. Talent wise he's a 1st rounder (or high 2nd given the devaluation of the position). Sad to say but I think if him hitting the girl wasn't on video he would likely have a dramatically different outlook at this point.
  10. My logic is we are the Buffalo Bills, if we are going to do something in FA we have to take what's available to us. Bouye simply isn't an option, so there's no point in pining over it. Saying "we should sign AJ Bouye and Tony Romo" shows a fundamental lack of understanding of our position as a team in the league and our cap capabilities.
  11. I agree with your philosophy, but we have to do what's available. I hated letting Gilmore walk, I think there were players we could have cut to create cap room but didn't for what may be sentimental reasons. But I think this whole FA period is going to be wacky, I'd rather sign a guy like Wagner who I know upgrades what's long been a problem area than signing the Chris Williams of the world for still a lot of money. But I tend to have a more "stars and scrubs" roster approach, I think you can find guys for cheap that will give you 90% of what a $5-$6 mil guy will in this market. My first preference was to keep Gilmore and move on proactively from guys who won't be here in 2 seasons, but like I said, that ship has sailed.
  12. Wagner has ties to Dennison, Bouye has no ties to our coaching staff. This isn't Madden, considering our status in regards to contending and our inability to blow up the corner market due to cap considerations, Bouye is not a player we can realistically plan to pursue.
  13. I'm been vocal about not being a fan of letting Gilmore walk, but it's water under the bridge at this point. I like targeting a guy like Wagner more than spending the same amount of money on 2-3 guys you are simply projecting into starting roles at other positions. The depth at DB in this draft, the lack of depth at OLine in this draft and the price difference between making Wagner the highest paid RT vs making Gilmore the highest paid Corner make up for some of the positional value swing IMO.
  14. Keep Kujo, he's cheap, if Wagner goes down you can swing Glenn to RT and Kujo at LT. Henderson can't be relied on. There's a reason we found Mills on the street in the middle of the season.
  15. The league has shifted the last couple of years. Teams always used to line up their best pass rusher on the blindside, but recently teams have realized the difference in quality between the RT and LT and started putting guys like Von Miller and Mack on the right side. Wagner was graded out as the best RT in football by PFF in 2014, his play declined a little bit the last couple of seasons, but he's a dramatic upgrade over Mills and it's an important position for us if we want to keep with a run oriented offense. This draft is deep on WR talent, but not on olinemen, it would represent a significant investment in our OLine, but put us among the best in the league and hopefully allow some drafted receivers / under the radar FAs to come in and shine.
  16. I'm of the mindset that most every decent FA is going to be expensive this offseason, so I'd rather overpay one surefire starter than overpay 2-3 guys we are hoping can fill starter roles.
  17. Gilmore was always gone the moment we didn't tag him.
  18. It's going to hurt, but he's the one guy in this market I'd be OK spending on. Dramatically upgrades our line putting us among the best units in the league.
  19. I hate how everything to come out of the national media about us is basically "Even though he could go to a better team, Juszcyk is shockingly leaning towards the Bills".
  20. What I think WILL happen (not what I would do): QB: Tyrod (think we get one of the top 4 QBs in a trade back into round 1) WR: Kamar Aiken LB: AJ Klein CB: Sidney Jones (at #10) S: Williams / Graham with a safety taken later in the draft
  21. I like the signing, but it makes me wish we could move on from Clay and put a "big" TE in that slot.
  22. Maybe when Marshall was younger, but he seems to get it now. He had his issues and he's gone public with his fight, but if anything I think he can be a positive influence on ODB now.
  23. He's gone. Going to go back to Cali.
  24. Jeffery / Pryor / Marshall / Stills / Jackson / Garcon / Britt are all clearly a tier above him ..... The top shelf talent goes first and sets the market, then the next tier fills in when teams get desperate.
  25. Jets to the Giants has to be one of the best moves in football for guys. You don't need to change your daily life and you get a dramatic upgrade in franchise quality.
