  1. We are now the Giants that beat us in the first SB. Run. Run, Ru, pass only when needed to physical receivers. No real speed threat on O. Tough DL and LB. Based on the first PS game, I bet we feature Tolbert and Di Marco and not really Shady so much. Only excitement will be the occasional Shady gash or TT scramble. Otherwise ? Paint drying. All said, if the D is good, it's a winning formula. I'll watch paint dry to 11-5 and a Wild Card birth.
  2. Right answer now is: 1. A Boldin 2. Shady 3. Z Jones X-Factor = Logan Thomas If "the system" works, still plenty of real near-freak talent for it to work. Starting with TT.
  3. What is this, exactly ? Way more misses than hits on "sure things". Won't belabor with a list.......nah, I l'll at least start it: - J Football - Bortles - Cutler - Pennington - Sanchez - RG3 - Gabbert - Ponder - Leinart - Locker TT is better than all of them right now. If he does steadily improve this season and the Bills keep him while developing Peterman or whoever, I'd be glad if that's Billsy.
  4. Been lurking or missing for a while but pointed out in 2015 - repeatedly - that Tyrod beat EJ and Ponder at VT at a 4-0 clip, including the ACCCG. There was never a doubt in my mind that he would beat out Cassel and EJ. As an admitted TT homer, however, I am really open minded this season to the true make or break. Compared to what most on this board thought he could do when he first was introduced, he's already shattered all but what the true homers (BuffaloHokie13 - this means you, too) knew he could do. That said, he will still not surprise me if he can shred the league this season with quick passes and continue to gash with 20+ yd runs. Bills will finally have a real OC and supporting cast to take some load off of just him. He's proved he can lead and and carry an offense almost by himself - clearly not anyone's preferred MO. Playoffs were 1 game away both seasons. Navigating playoffs and winning the Super Bowl (National Title) is the only thing that would resemble new ground for TT to take. Am admittedly less confident in that for 2017. If it doesn't happen, all anyone ever wants is a fair judgement if it doesn't go down perfectly. It would be very easy to step way backwards at QB if "the passing game" is the scapegoat reason that a Lombardi Trophy doesn't come to Buffalo in 2017. I don't know how I would act if the Bills actually made the Super Bowl and were up 28-3 in the 3rd quarter and lost in OT like the Falcons just did. Crazy to hope that doesn't happen, yes ? no ? Ryan's fault ? Clearly time for bed ..
  5. Am not nervous about most of this - maybe Ragland and Lawson. Taylor got measurably better every year even under a crappy OC at VT - not nervous at all about him getting better - not saying Super Bowl MVP or anything but this is still a focused man on a mission - no doubt he will get better - at least even with deserved increased expectations. Been impressed with Sammy already - even with more than nagging injuries - and it's year 3 with TT as a a partner. Even Julio took a couple years to dominate. Leslie Frazier - who was once a HC listening to a young whipersnapper ? - meh - professional and the right personality.
  6. 2016: Roman/Lynn OC Rex/Rob Ryan/Some other dude DC 2017: Dennison OC Frazier DC Excited about that alone Throw in: Watkins Healthy Ragland back (like an extra 2nd rounder) Lawson back - ditto Tyrod - familiar system - and one he should thrive in - and is still in a "prove it" year Zay Jones - XFactor Logan Thomas - XFactor Will be a fun team to watch regardless. With McDermott's apparent measured style - I believe we will be in every game. Lots to be excited about.
  7. Like: Matt Cassell Kyle Orton Trent Edwards ? Simply stunning.
  8. Tyrod has never lost a QB competition. He relishes them. It was for backup in Baltimore because Flacco was entrenched as starter. They brought in someone every season and TT crushed them for #2. He actually did beat Flacco too in scrimmages, too but little was ever said about it. Crushed EJ and Cassel as well - it now seems comical but at the time it was 50% tops on this board that thought he would beat out those two. FNG Peterman, TJ Yates and Cardale will be light work for TT. Even if he was being paid peanuts. Different level of talent. Ya'll are crazy but funny.
  9. OP's list was good. Would only add QB Jerod Evans and Isaiah Ford from VT - both are good value late - they together destroyed all the VT passing/receiving records..
  10. and Brady. Not Cousins. And am sure not you. Can't get it - unable. Saving this post for next year.
  11. Well said. Would also add - and was surprised nobody in this thread touched on it - that both RGIII and Kaep have displayed dooshy behavior - RGIII overinflating his play in Washington and being a locker room cancer, and Kaep letting himself get out of shape and the whole National Anthem thing. Players and even fans who question his play dig Tyrod as the man - team first type guy, dedicated, gym rat, leader, simply lacks overall dooshiness.
  12. Isiah Ford ran slow at the combine (4.61) but improved it at his pro day (4.51). Dude was great at VT - silky smooth with, as you say, great body control - very much shades of Lynn Swan. At times was a man amongst boys - uncoverable. He's thin and a little slow so with this loaded WR class, should fall to 3rd round. PLAYMAKER.
  13. Nice address of real needs.
  14. Bucky Hodges actually played WR 95% of the time as a senior at VT. 6'7" with a 39" vertical, 4.5. Needs to work on catch consistency - easy thing to work on. He'll be there at 3 or 4 and could add versatility to the overall receiving corps because he is also a TE.
  15. Like: Bills Vikes (someone does care about them) Falcons Packers Ravens Hate: Patriots (tho they are GD impressive - so respect) Cowboys (could jump Patriots this year in hate-ability if they are successful again - fan base is absolutely insufferable - at least P-men fans are quiet-ish) Redskins (see: Cowboys on fans) Seagulls
  16. Pretty good analysis. 1a. DB's 1b. Help for Sammy 2. RT 3. Solid BU QB 4. BU TE (intrigued by Logan Thomas, tho) good news is this draft is super deep in 1a, 1b, and 4.
  17. The Walter Football Mock has Bucky going to the Bills in 3rd.
  18. I could not have done any better except I think TE is OK with Clay and think (VT homer) Logan Thomas is a sleeper there. Just go WR or DB again there - but even that is a quibble given the deep TE class as well. Well done, sir.
  19. I thought the games the last two seasons on the whole were leaps and bounds more entertaining and competitive than the past 15 years. The offense was actually exciting and fun to watch. You watch the same games ?
  20. What does this even mean ? In all your experiences as an NFL coach, define coaching scared.
  21. No. Unlucky. And would not be because of TT unless he gets hurt.
  22. Got the same - Ian Rappaport. Someone put Ryan L. on suicide watch.
