left off Mark Rypien. Flacco doesn't belong. -
Running Back Age/Production Curve

If one goes by the posted graphic, Sammy's production goes down 25 % this season. -
Two plays changed everything for two quarterbacks
moshermw replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. The receivers were shaking their heads and their body language was not good after a few plays. Lost trust in EJ to find the right receiver. -
Did 23 months for interstate gambling - not cruelty - that's only a max of 6 months. So Uncle Sam even thinks dogfighting isn't as bad as not giving them their cut of the action. Did the 23 for him and his peeps - they got nothing - and threw him under the bus. He did learn that society isn't as tolerant of dogfighting as his childhood culture - an still spreads that message. Bigger lesson was on how to pick your loyalties - that must have really hurt - and therefore stuck. Dude was a freak of nature - has lost steps. Still has a good arm and is more accurate than most think. The Jets O was a dumpster fire - even in comparison to ours so wouldn't base anything on that.. Every locker room he's ever been in loves him - great leader and motivator as a vet now. Would think he could be a quality backup for a couple years to a dual threat QB. EJ, Locker, Tyrod, etc. Starter ? no.

Thought this thread had long been buried. Happy it made a comeback. I'll give you that TT has a lot to prove on throwing accuracy when compared to RW - a lot. But it's not glaringly inaccurate at all to say that TT is as elusive as RW. I've seen them both play - it appears you haven't seen TT play. See video linked below. Note that Justin Houston is an all pro LB. The comparison is much less in trying to compare their accomplishments - that would be silly - but to say they are similar styles, drive, and stature. RW didn't go higher in the draft because of his height and neither did TT. TT went to the Ravens and couldn't surplant Flacco. That's all we know about him at this level. Only the Ravens know how good or bad he is. RW surplanted Matt Flynn. Got his shot and the rest is history. I'm just saying to give TT at very low cost and risk compared to other options. He fits Roman's style. Just saying to give him a shot as a gapper until our draft pick situation allows us to get a Bridgewater, Luck, i.e. some sure thing.

Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
moshermw replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod's 'inconsistint-ness' was much more about the abhorrent QB coaching that was VT while TT was there. As was that for Logan Thomas. Call him out as Frank Beamer's buddy - Mike O'Cain. Brutal. Both QB's regressed even from HS. I'm not even sayin that TT is the long term Bills answer - I'm just saying that the team needs a 'cheap' 2-3 year bridge QB that gets it - and bridges the Bills to the next Jim Kelly. There's not one of those that we can get in this college class. Tyrod might not be the next JK but all we know is that is something less than Joe Flacco. In the system that's coming I'm here to tell you that he's a shorter but cheaper, faster and more motivated than a Kaepernick. -
Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
moshermw replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod was only the sole starter for 2 years - the other 2 he was part of a "2-headed monster" BS thing with Glennon (Sean not Mike). Rushing TD's in 4 College seasons: Tyrod - 24 Moore - 1 Meh. Bring them both in. Just don't think Tyrod should be overllooked by this staff given the style of O at least we, on this board think they willwant to riun. -

For sure. Why I added, fwiw. Intriguing is the right word - Bills should at least bring him in for a look. The LACK of data is what's kinda cool - could be a steal in the rough. -

Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
moshermw replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. His four-year rookie deal ended with the Ravens this season. He made $550,000/yr and the Ravens liked him a lot even though his style is different from Flacco's. They brought in QB's every off-season to try and Beat TT out - never did. Best one was Kolb but also Dennis Dixon and a coule other names. The Ravens won't want to spend the $$ he (and his agent) should want to keep him as a #2 but he would still be a potential huge bargain if the Bills bring him in. It's like this IMO - the bad news is there's hardly any reg season NFL film on him - the good news is no one (except the Ravens) really knows how good he is - and they held on to him for four years .... -
Bills to go in little-talked-about direction at QB?
moshermw replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod Taylor has been off the radar (except by me) and has not been beaten to death. Summary: - 4-Year backup in a good system to a Franchise QB - Joe Flacco, Ravens - Not many NFL snaps largely because Flacco never gets hurt. - Has a Super Bowl ring - not many of the other QB's discussed aside from Eli can say that.. - All time QB at VT - Held clipboard, shut-up, and learned, without cycles on his body - Nearly undefeated in Pre-season, FWIW - Badly wants to start in the NFL - would sign for MUCH less than a "real" Vet - 4.5 40 with great arm. Physically faster and more elusive than Russell Wilson - ran a faster 40 at the same combine than Kaepernick - Would fit very well in a Rex/Ryan/Roman power-run first, throw second scheme - a la Niners with Kaepernick - because he himself is a legit running threat. There's other QB's that fall into the category of not getting a shot yet because of playing behind a Top 5 QB - this one seems under the radar enough to mention in this thread again... -
6th or 7th round pick for Kirk Cousins?
moshermw replied to Buffwagonscircled's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correct answer is Tyrod Taylor. Unrestricted free agent - 4-year backup to Flacco who has never really had a chance to start. Quite possible he is the next Russell Wilson. Was better than RW and EJ/Ponder in the same league (ACC) in college. Faster and as good an arm than RW. Drafted in the 6th rd because he's 'only' 6 1. Kids a born winner. -
Who will the Bills bring in at QB?
moshermw replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right answer is Tyrod Taylor. Missing from the list but should not be. Partly because of the below quote and link and partly because this is page 7 of "knowledgeable" football fans and he's under all your RADARs. Fits into Rex's run first system very well and would be CHEAP. Bring him in to at least try him out. Check this out form last August: “I’ve been very impressed,” Kubiak said. “Ty really bought into what we’re doing; he’s working extremely hard. The thing I love about Ty, I know his goal is to be a starter in this league and that’s what you want as a coach. So he’s very competitive, pushes Joe every day, doing a great job.” Head Coach John Harbaugh split up his team during Monday’s practice at M&T Bank Stadium. There was Team Tyrod and Team Flacco, with the second- and first-team offenses squaring off in an 11-on-11 scrimmage. Team Tyrod won. Of course that’s only one practice, and Flacco is entrenched as the starter. But it’s a good sign of how far Taylor has come since being a sixth-round pick in 2011. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Tyrod-Taylor-Impressing-In-Training-Camp/e7667379-51a8-4aaf-a0ad-3421da5a247c He's being shopped now as we type. Bring. Him. In. -
We're gonna build a bully ...

Has anyone seen any twitter reaction from players?
moshermw replied to BuffaloPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Going only on the OP post - and borrowing from Mike Zimmer (new Vikes Coach) - Something like - "I don't need to care what the players think about me - they need to care more about what I think of them .." $. and ^^ this^^ Rex is a players coach but will make them impress HIM. -
[closed]What is Buffalo's best option at Quarterback ?
moshermw replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's an UFA after this year. All a matter of $$. He made $645,000 in 2014. Bring him in to compete with EJ. If he beats him out, bet he'd sign for a song in a 2 year deal to start. -

Right here: -
Just sayin he beat RW twice in college (and EJ and Ponder once each as well). Sat behind a franchise QB like AR. TT NFL Combine results, 2011: 40: 4.51, #1 that year ahead of Kaepernick and Cam Newton Vertical: 37.5 in #1 that year ahead of Cam and CK. 3-cone drill: #1 that year tied with Jake Locker Only point here is that TT is as elite a pure athlete as Cam and Kaepernick. And holds all relevant VT passing records. Just short (6'1, 217). Also wanted to add that Darrell Bevell also developed Tavaris Jackson in Minnesota - maybe not a great claim to fame but TJ was a much bigger project than TT or Wilson - he likes these dual threat QB's. TJ was a completrly unknown D2 QB and took the Vikes to the playoffs one year. He now is the solid Russell Wilson backup at Seattle. No, I'm not TT's agent.
-
completely agree. Each of those names are in the same boat - but all 3 are different types of QB. I went Tyrod cuz of VT roots and because it seemed Darrell Bevell was getting the most love for HC - at least on here - TT is his type of QB. Mallet is much more Brady-like, i.e. not a dual threat. Kellen Moore is probably the smartest of the three - not a rocket arm or runner - but cerebral. All 3 have potential and would be CHEAPER than a big pick or a big $ contract like Cutler. We need to conserve picks this year. OL, OL, OL.
-
Touche and agree. Thanks for the welcome - couldn't have possibly been the Captain Morgan doing the spelling at 1:38 AM...

He's been behind Flacco for 4 years. Joe never gets hurt. Would never go there but it's sort of like Aaron Rodgers behind Favre. Held the clipboard. 6th Rounder - biggest knocks were reading D's and too short (6'1). VT QB coaching has been a$$ since VIck (left after 2 years). Still he holds all VT passing records - broke Don Strock's. Is as fast as Russell Wilson if not faster. Has worked under Flacco and OC's Cam Cameron and Gary Kubiak last 4 years. Bet he can read NFL D's now. I say just bring him in for a look at least - that you've never heard of him is the beauty of it.
-
See thread on Tyrod Taylor Summary: - Free Agent - at end of 4 year deal with Ravens - Poor man's Russell Wilson - just faster and more elusive - Arm is as strong if not stronger then RW and accurate - Four year, unseated #2 to Joe Flacco - Wants to start - badly enough to take low $ (think 1/3 of Orton $ish) - Is 2-0 vs Russel Wilson in same college conference, and 1-0 vs EJ and Ponder both - Holds all VT PASSING records and is almost as fast as Vick at his prime. - Held clipboard behind Flacco - with OC's Cam Cameron and Gary Kubiak - Proven winner at every level - Unproven as a starter but could be a steal .. that's the beauty
-
Picture this: 1. Darrell Bevell - runs the Seahawks Offense with Russell Wilson 2. T. Taylor - as strong/accurate/ arm, faster and more elusive than RW - been in the league longer under a GOOD (read: Super Bowl) system - can't WAIT to start and learn under someone like DB. 3. CJ Spiller (Seahawks have NOTHING like him) 4. Sammy Watkins (see 3) 5. Marquise Goodwin (see 4) 6. Freddy Jackson/Bryce Brown/Boobie = 3 Marshawns That D with Kiko back... OL, OL, OL first 3 (2) rounds Championship !- with zero trades or deals other than bringing Tyrod for 1/2 of Orton $. EJ = quality backup or TT vice versa

Brady to the Bills ????? Possibility?
moshermw replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting thought. Not a long term answer and would be too pricey as the 'gap' filler. Spend the $ and picks on OL. Plenty of other 1 or 2 year options that cost much less, including developing EJ. Don't picture myself rooting for this guy - even in a Bills uni.
