Fred Jackson: Bills want to give Shady 300+ carries
moshermw replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When asked about 30+ carries a game, OJ once said, "no problem, ball's not that heavy" If Tyrod or EJ start and stay reasonably healthy, they will approach 100=6/game=1.5/qtr. I'd bet on that. -
This is the correct answer. /thread

What if Tyrod leads us to a Super Bowl win?
moshermw replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Are you even a football fan ? TT is a D1A 2x ACC Champ, Orange Bowl Champ. TJ is D1AA nada. ... And FWIW Tyrod is 2-0 vs. EJ. -
The press speculates on EJ's future
moshermw replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. 20 other dudes. FSU - mostly 4 and 5 stars VT - mostly 3 stars, occasional 4 and 5 (TT). Not a scout on the planet thought EJ was first rounder, or that Brady was 1st ballot NFL hall of fame QB, or that Russell Wilson was an NFL MVP QB. As many have said on here, just want the best option for this new season. It's up to the coaches to decide. I think one discounts any of the 3 (not Tuel) at their own peril. Any of them could break out and be special in 2015. Go Bills -

I'd be too happy to even drink ... nahhhhhhhh. Be interesting to poll the fanbase on the chances of this happening. I'd go 1 in 25 or 4%. -
non-Bill most destined to be become a Bill
moshermw replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure but would add to your argument that he and TT are friends and fellow VT stars. Not sure Buffalonians are ready to forgive him for the dog stuff just as a fill-in. Eagles fans did cuz Andy Reed did and he had real moments of stardom in Philly. The MNF game comes to mind where he hung 60+ on the Redskins on National TV. -

1. VT is and has always been a run heavy offensive team team. In D1A, only they and Nebraska have NEVER had a 1000 yd receiver in their history. QB history includes 2 Vicks, TT, Bryan Randall and Don Strock. WR include Andre Davis, Jarrett Boykin and Antonio Freeman. 2. Did not play with the Ravens #1's. Flacco would never allow that. TT and #2's did beat Flacco and the #1's on the reg in TC under Kubiak. 3. Here's TT with Kaep - they're buds and work out together - dude is a beast and how I'd want my QB to look - no homo: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Tyrod-Taylor-Trains-With-Colin-Kaepernick/b6d872db-c54a-47f2-8b94-6cd32824ff9d -

Tyrod was never ever going to move to RB or WR. That was media pidgeon-hole'ing him cuz he's fast. Dude's never played anything but QB since he's 5. -

Offensive playcalling: what to expect
moshermw replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also note that from 2012-2014 Kap ran for over 1500 yds, 10 TD's at a clip of 6.0 ypc. Read option and scrambling. Depending on who emerges as the starter, one could see more of that than the Orton or Ej run teams of the past 2 years. TT is every bit as fast and is more elusive than Kap. EJ is also a reasonable run option QB. TT is a legit threat to house a read option run if the seam is there. He can make at least one tackler miss. This is why I think Rex wanted to give him a shot. Dude has a strong arm that only needs a flick so real quick release. If his passing and decision making are as improved as preliminary reports (from Rex and even Bills D players), this IMO is what gives him the edge over the others and will add QB running to the arsenal of choices for this O. -
Around the NFL: Projected 2015 Starters for Bills
moshermw replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love it that he projects 3 WR set as the 'base" O - all 3 WR are $. Also love how the QB is somehow defacto between EJ and Cassel. TT is an unknown long shot to the masses I suppose but has as good a shot as the other two to start IMO - especially in Roman's system. -

SKILLS: 1-poor, 2-weak, 3-above average, 4-very good, 5-elite Arm Strength: 4.0 Accuracy: 2.5 Mobility: 4.0 Decision Making: 3.0 Mechanics: 3.0 Pocket Awareness: 2.0 Intangibles: 3.0 So here were his skill grades in 2011 according to this dude. Pocket awareness is the only weakness at 2.0 which is the one that can be fixed the most with 4 years with NFL QB coaching and OC work - as can Accuracy and Decision making. I disagree with the Mobility of only 4 even back then. He's an elite runner and has elite elusiveness by any metric - best QB 40 time in 10 years - Vick being the last before RG3 and Top 5 3 cone of all time.. These ratings do not take into account that he took less $ for a chance to start - definition of the Intangible "wants it". 100 to 1 ain't it here. I'd say more like 4 to 1 - to start and then win the AFC East - especially in Roman's system with the rest of the weapons. I hope you're wrong mainly for the Bills sake - best option right now and a very high ceiling IMO. -

Can't read the link here at work but will later - predictable what's in there, though. Too short to be a starter, doesn't look downfield long enough, NFL DE and LB are faster so he won't be able to buy as much time with his feet, and misses some throws he should make consistently. Close ? And it was in '11 before he had 4 years to have actual QB coaching - most of his VT issues are traceable to a QB coach that was just Beamer's buddy - think Marrone and Hackett here - awful. So these are just the types of people and reports that TT can't wait to prove wrong. Speaks volumes in today's world that he'd take less $ for a chance to start. Wanting it isn't the same as getting it, tho... I'm rooting for him and if he actually gets picked to start over Cassel and EJ, there's no doubt he'd have earned it and would have done at least some "proving wrong". At the risk of getting ahead of ourselves, not sure what the standard would be for shocking the NFL. Just starting a season or two ain't it. Super Bowl W and MVP would do it. Lots of distance between those two scenarios .. can't wait to see it all play out. -

Taylor was an unrestricted free agent. Not sure how one can misconstrue the meaning of that (see below). The Ravens had no choice because Tyrod wanted a chance to start and it wasn't going to happen in Baltimore with Flacco all but calling the shots with his big salary. He turned down twice the $ from Denver for the same reason. Unrestricted free agent[edit]Unrestricted free agents are players without a team. They have either been released from their club, had the term of their contract expire without a renewal, or were not chosen in a league's draft of amateur players. These people, generally speaking, are free to entertain offers from all other teams and to decide with whom to sign a contract -
Will Roman's O fit our offensive players?
moshermw replied to BillsInMaine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Tyrod wins the QB job one can immediately add him to the list of weapons that will be nearly impossible to prepare for. Come to think of it, it might be why he would win it - all things being equal. Keep in mind here that Justin Houston is KC's Pro Bowl and franchise LB. -
5-6 WGR interview with Tyrod Taylor
moshermw replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Been posted on here before but this was his 2nd last VT game ever - against EJ and Nigel Bradham and FSU. He also had 2 receivers that got drafted into the league - Danny Coale (Dallas) and Jarret Boykin (GB). This is how he can be with receivers on the same page. -

5-6 WGR interview with Tyrod Taylor

- Got screwed on his pro day - Never got any playing time - regular or pre-season - with the Ravens's #1's - Flacco would not allow it. - Last season Team Tyrod and the #2's beat Team Flacco in scrimmages all the time. Kubiak knew that .. hence the Denver offer. The City of Buffalo is about to fall in love with TT. -

He was an unrestricted free agent. Not sure what those words leave out in terms of his status with the Ravens. Wanted a chance to start and the Ravens knew that. Cameron and Kubiak wanted him to play more snaps. Flacco pouted about that - was simply time for Tyrod to get out of that hopeless situation - i.e. behind a never injured, super highly paid, Super Bowl MVP QB. This. Sorry to pile on before finishing thread. -

Speed Kills Except for the Bills that We Draft
moshermw replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fast Bills: Leodis: Brain getting better - see Percy. Marquise: Don't care how good he becomes - is fast a crap - and just watch is 30 for 30 and STFU. TJ: Not sure here. Spiller: Used wrong from Day 1. Pathetic waste of talent. Can any O coach spell S.L.O.T !? Sammy: Rookie year over and now healthy - look the eff out this year with Percy and Woods on the field. Percy: Will return kicks - no more Leodis eff ups - migranes under control - look the eff out this year. Clay: Fastest TE in the league. Look the eff out this year. Tyrod: Fastest QB in the league. Vick lost 2 steps, RG3 also. Yes TT's 40 time is better than Kaepernick, Mariotta, and Russel Wilson's. And he has no cycles on his body from playing behind Flacco - physically still a rookie. And is more elusive than any of these except maybe Vick. Look the eff out if he wins the job. Ronald Darby: 2nd Fastest CB this combine to Tre Waynes. Rex sees something else there, too. Summary: Look the eff out this year. Speed everywhere. Legit track type stuff - everywhere. -
