This screams arrogant “We got you to the playoffs, we can do no wrong” pick. Beane and McDermott put their careers on the line with this pick, they better hope Allen is a decent QB.

By far, the best sceanario for the Bills

Yea don’t be surprised if Jackson is picked well before that if Rapoport’s comments are true

Sadly, I think this mock from CBS is the most accurate...

Unless Rosen or Mayfield fall, Jackson at 12 makes a lot for sense than most people here think. Rather draft Jackson without losing a pick than losing a ton of picks for one of the top 3 QBs. -
Beane is “Trying Like Hell” To Move Up For a QB

You guys are burying the lead, Jason La Confora is saying this. I know I think are definitely not trading up knowing his tracking record of predicting Bills moves -
Lamar Jackson Declares for the 2018 NFL Draft
K-Apps replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Now with Daboll as OC, I think I would draft Jackson if he’s available at 21. If they can develop an offense similar to what O’Brien did with Watson or Pederson did with Wentz, I think Bills can have a star player. Definitely will need a deep threat WR to compliment Jones and Benjamin for it to work. -
I’m not big on a Big 12 QB who will have a big learning curve playing QB in the NFL (Bryce Petty). Really can’t waste a 1st round pick on a project QB.
-
And tell me you think the Bills are any shot at getting any of those supposed QB prospects and do the Bills have the offensive coaching and personnel currently for any young QB to succeed?, answer those questions well and I’ll consider you to be right. And btw, Flacco, Eli, and Wilson when he won are not elite QBs imo, solid but both Ravens and Giants were decent teams with good defenses. You don’t need a star QB, it just that the Pats have the greatest coach and QB combo and everybody goes gag over. To really need a well-balanced team and is good on both sides of the ball. And that’s been one of the Bills biggest problem.

How is it losing mentality if overall roster is stronger with better players sans QB. Look at the Vikings, they have a great roster filled with players they drafted. To me, strengthening the roster is more important than getting a QB in this draft. The biggest problem during the streak was drafting based on supposed needs instead of drafting BPA and not smart drafting plans. Biggest mistake any team can make in the forcing picks, numerous teams including the Bills can done this especially in terms of QB, just look at the 2011 Draft.
-
I say sign either Bridgewater or McCarron since both will not command a high salary and can a bridge to a young developing QB. Find a diamond in the rough QB in the 3rd-4th round, we aren’t getting any of the top QBs so reason to waste a the top picks on a project QB when the team has so many other issues and lacks talent everywhere.
-
He’s a freshman now, sure he needs to progress and fill out and I have no doubt he will considering where is and who is coming him. The way he moved the safety and got his receiver wide open like that was tremendous. But biggest thing I like was his composure and poise reminded me of Russell Wilson in Wisconsin.
-
YES, he move the safety and gave his receiver and walk in TD. There are NFL QBs including Tyrod who can’t make that play as a QB. If he continues to progress he is a sure fire top pick in a NFL draft. None of these QBs have this kid ceiling. I rather Bills middle with journeymen or Peterman to have a chance st this kid.

Draft Grades in National Championship Game
K-Apps replied to TFBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man it would be a dream if the Bills would get him in a few years if he can progress -
Please, there is a reason why he was considered a top QB recruit coming out of high school and you saw it tonight. I see no reason to draft a QB in Rounds 1-3 now especially with no chance of Rosen and Darnold.
-
Get Tua in a Bills uniform in 2020, forgot all these QBs in this upcoming draft
-
Look I get you want a franchise guy, we all do, but the fact of the matter is unless in Aaron Rodgers case inexplicably falls in the 1st round, it’s very difficult to find a QB in with the picks Bills have in the 1st. I rather find a diamond in the rough like Russell Wilson. I rather continue to get good players all across the roster because this roster lacks talent, I think you can agree on that and FA will be part of the way to do that.
-
Wow you really missed my point entirely, the Vikings roster is mostly filled with players they picked and most believe they have the best overall roster in the league. The fact they are winning with not having their starting QB should tell how well-constructed their team is. If the Bills fan construct team like that in 2-3 years and the QB is a journeyman playing solidly I would take in a heartbeat over a star QB with a middling roster. The biggest reason the streak was as long it was because bad roster construction and overvaluing needs over getting good players. Taking Rudolph over BPA would a classic Bills mistake.
-
My point is why force a pick above what he is projected, if Rudolph is projected a 2nd-3rd round that’s where you pick him there if he’s there. If you want waste another pick like when the Bills picked EJ Manuel and JP Losman instead improving your team in other areas instead of QB, be my guess. I rather build my team like the Vikings where it’s a strong overall roster and the QB just has to competent.
-
Alex Smith really, if you guys are complaining on Tyrod, you will do the same on Smith. Rather go after a placeholder like Keenum, McCarron, or McCown if Jets move on from him.
-
Yea I just didn’t see Mayfield enough NFL caliber throws where he had to lead his receiver or make throws in tight windows. If he in McVay type offense where skill players are schemed in great position to make plays, he could be solid. In Dennison’s offense, I think he would struggle mightily especially if O-Line isn’t strengthen.
