  1. How many linebackers, in the entire league, are fast enough to cacth Julian Edelman from behind?
  2. I'll be honest, I thought Su'a Cravens was too slow to play in the secondary. I wasn't impressed with his game speed and I thought he would be a bust as a high draft pick. I'm looking like an ass right now.
  3. You often have to read between the lines with these press conferences. To me it seems that Lynn acknowledged there were issues causing delays in getting the play calls in. He also seemed to hint that Tyrod had freedom to change plays at the line, but that the playbook options were complicated. That's just what I took from it. For what it's worth, Coach Lynn does come off as being a smart guy. Let's hope that turns into production.
  4. Didn't Jeff Fisher just get a contract extension...like a few weeks ago?
  5. I was actually wondering if Gillislee / McCoy is our new Freddy / Marshawn. At the time, Marshawn was the high profile back. A first round draft pick. But at every chance, Freddy just seemed to do more. I'm not saying Gillislee is as good as Fred Jackson, but I see a similar situation where the back up does more with opportunities than the featured back. Gillislee moves forward. McCoy moves laterally until he finds a hole or turns up when he reaches the sideline.
  6. I never understood the hype on Scooby. He was a linebacker who was smart enough to know where the ball carrier would be...but slow so the tackle was made 5 yards too late.
  7. The last one where Clay was wide open, I'm guessing TT went with the out because they were running the 2 minute offense (such as it is). Considering how long the offense takes to set up and run a play, I wouldn't want them going down the middle in that situation. On the first play, the design should've had the slant curve in to the opposite 40 yard marker. Easier throw than a 10 yard out, and he had a chance for YAC. Great job by the way. I love this stuff.
  8. Greg Roman could've been a Superbowl winning OC...in 2000. I'm sure he's a smart guy. But his offense is old. This is a passing league. Competition rule changes over the past 10 - 15 years have made it so. He and Rex have not evolved to the modern NFL. The people saying that defense was the problem last night are wrong. It was a team loss. All 3 phases were bad. Offense was 3/10 on 3rd down. Two of those came in garbage time if I remember correctly. We could not put a drive together. Last week was bad as well. Roman does not have the football smarts to run an NFL offense. Rex is on the same boat in my opinion. He gets no pass from me.
  9. No love for Eddie Robinson? He's a coach on the field. Just don't ask him to tackle a slow QB at the goalline.
  10. You don't have to be a Bills homer. Let's be objective here. Tyrod Taylor's 2016 QBR ranked him 7th in the league (tied with Cam). His QB rating placed him 10th in the league. Does this make him a top 10 quarterback? Maybe, maybe not. But it certainly should have him ranked much higher than 26th. That ranking is ridiculous whether you're being objective or subjective.
  11. I can't figure out why people are freaking out about this. He wasn't saying the NFL shouldn't exist. He was saying that the human body was not created to play football. The human body did not evolve for the purpose of playing football. That is all. Stop with the insults. Whaley isn't an idiot biting the hand that feeds him. Consider the context of the conversation and the rest of what he said. Jesus, some people are just sitting around waiting for people to screw up so they can pounce. Let it go.
  12. Jim Kelly ran a Bills offense that led the Bills to 4 straight Super Bowls. During those years the Bills offense ranked 1, 2, 3, & 7. This happened during years before the NFL set rules to increase passing proliferation. If anyone thinks Kelly wouldn't be in the 20+ million club...I don't know what to tell them.
  13. That's a bold strategy Cotton let's see if it pays off for 'em.
  14. I feel like something needs to be clarified for the people who complain about Ragland's speed. Yes, there are knocks on his speed. But that means Ragland is too slow to be Von Miller; it doesn't mean he's too slow to play mike in the NFL. He has all the makings to be a good/really good lb for us.
  15. The guys at walterfootball.com claim to have sources; those sources say the Bills do not want Nkemdiche. Just throwing this out there. "A lot of mock drafts have projected the Buffalo Bills to take Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche. In speaking with sources, the Bills have ruled out Nkemdiche, and he isn't a finalist for their first-round pick. Buffalo is keying in on a defender for the front seven in the first round. The priority to add more defensive talent will carry over into the second night as well." http://walterfootball.com/nfldraftrumormill.php
  16. So funny you mention that. I kept hearing the name Scooby Wright so I watched him play. I also made fun of his running. I remember thinking, "He runs like a kid learning how to ice skate, or like someone trying to run in the snow without slipping." Very flat footed stomping around the field with a short stride. I can't see why people like him so much.
  17. To be fair to Reed, he was double teamed a LOT. Also he says that he wasn't asked to rush the QB very often. That said, he doesn't seem to play with the quickness needed to be a quality pass rusher. Personally, I'm not very high on some of the pass rushers in this draft like Spence or Lloyd. And while I see the amazing potential of Chris Jones or Nkemdiche, their work ethic scares me (a motivated Chris Jones would look great in a Bills uniform though). Overall, I really like Andrew Billings. He doesn't have the pass rush ability of Chris Jones, but he is strong and has quick feet. He can occupy blockers, get to the QB, and collapse the pocket. I think he's as close to complete as we could hope for at 19. Higher floor than Jones, but with a lower ceiling.
  18. I love Billings. Strong guy, extremely quick feet. He just seems to play at a different speed than most of the DL in this class. I don't think he'll be there at our 2nd pick. Ideal for me would be a trade down into the 20s and take him there. I'm not as high on most of the linemen in this draft as are most pundits.
  19. I've watched a lot of Dak. He clearly has a ton of arm strength and talent. When he throws the ball, it gets where it's going in a hurry. Beautiful looking deep ball. I can see why people like him. What is concerning is that he doesn't seem to have very good ball placement on anything over 15 yards. He would make, in my opinion, a great west coast offense QB. He's great on short routes. But NFL defenses would be able to take that away from him. He would need to develop his intermediate and long route accuracy. I just don't know if that can be coached. Definitely some positives in his game, but I wouldn't be confident in him as a starter.
  20. Hogan is the way to go for me. He doesn't have a cannon like Jones, but on short and intermediate routes he puts the ball where receivers can get YAC. He seems to read the field well. He's not afraid to run with it if nothing is there. He's not just an athlete who plays quarterback. I think people get too attached to athleticism.
  21. Seems like they're getting experienced, depth guys with some turnover ability.
  22. One of the funniest comments I've read in a while...and I agree 100%.
  23. I'm sorry. I realize I don't post much here. But I've been visiting this site for more than 10 years. I love reading Bills related conversation. But why do people like you even start topics like this? Constructive criticism is one thing, but nagging, whining, and b!t@hing before the game is even played? Is negativity and pessimism so fused to your core that you can't even look forward to a Bills game? Be honest, you're not looking forward to the game, you're looking forward to the Bills losing so that you can come back here and take some kind of pride in predicting the disaster of a loss. Because after two games into the season, you've already decided you don't like this failure of a team. There are so many great, intelligent posters here at twobillsdrive. Even when they disagree they usually speak with intelligence and the debate is terrific. You're not at their level. My rant is over, the mic has been dropped.
