  1. You don't have to be the best QB in the league to get the top contract. You just have to be the best one currently looking for an extension. Both Carr and Goff were the highest paid QB in the NFL at one point.
  2. Dak isn't as good as Mahomes... But he's good enough that I wouldn't want to see the Pats sign him.
  3. Say that to his face.
  4. McDermott has shown a willingness to change. To adapt. It cannot be overstated how important this is to long term success. For this reason, I am hopeful that he goes away from the savvy, non-athletic vet to play CB2 in a zone scheme. We need a young athletic CB2 across from T. White. We need scheme versatility. Sherman will not give us that. Just like Norman couldn't do it this year. While I like Dane and Levi, neither one is athletic enough for this either.
  5. If Mike Hilton is only going to cost 4M per, I want the Bills to pursue.
  6. I love Feliciano's attitude. But I don't love his play. We can save a lot of money by restructuring Morse. D. Williams should be the priority free agent to retain for the Bills. Then we will probably draft a guard in the high / mid rounds of the draft. If they can sign a good free agent to act as a bridge or competition for Ford and Boettger, that would be great. I really think we're realistically looking at Dawkins / FA / Morse / Ford / Williams as the starting line next year. With Bates, Boettger, another FA, and rookie as backups.
  7. Drafting a running back in the 1st round when run blocking is bad = drafting Sammy Watkins when your quarterback is EJ Manual.
  8. On this Bills team, I don't think you keep Morse AND Feliciano. You sit down with Morse and have a serious conversation about his thoughts on concussions and playing another season. Don't even talk to Feliciano about numbers until you sit down with Morse. On a separate note, there is no way I'm paying Feliciano 8M per year average. I love his attitude, not his play.
  9. Beane was pretty open during his press conference. It points to the direction the Bills are heading in this offseason. Milano, Brown, and Feliciano will not be back. They will try hard to sign Williams. Beane will be looking hard for a new athletic TE. No major RB acquisitions. As a replacement for Milano, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah would look good in a Bills uniform. Maybe Zaven Collins. Both are playmakers on defense.
  10. In Madden, a long time ago, I would line up in onside kick Right. Then short kick it to the left side. My guy would get it most of the time. The Bills should just do that.
  11. Walterfootball.com was one of my favorites. But the site has become nearly unusable lately. So many pop-ups and ads. Just slows down the whole browser.
  12. Jim Leonhard is the type of former player that tends to make a good coach. He's a guy that succeeded on hard work and brains. He was never the most athletic guy. But he had smarts, instinct, and tenacity. I wish him well until he plays the Bills.
  13. It will definitely be interesting to see what Beane does. As much as I love Roberts and appreciate what he provides, I think they might opt to replace him with McKenzie (who took a punt the distance a few weeks ago). I think your "needs" are pretty spot on. I would add CB2 to the list. What I'd love to see is us trade down from the 30th pick and use the 3 second round picks on CB, OLB, OG. I left Williams off of my list of cuts because I think the Bills make him the priority free agent to re-sign. And yes, we need a fast RB. Those can be found in later rounds. I do not want an RB at pick 30.
  14. My opinion is the biggest moves will be who we lose, not who we pick up. I think we lose Milano, Feliciano, and Roberts, and Brown. Bean is going to need a great draft this year. My vote would be for trading down and taking 3 2nd round picks. Unless someone like Micah Parsons falls to 30 (could happen due to locker room issues).
  15. Couldn't have happened to a nicer team.
  16. Hughes doesn't make it home very often. But he gets pretty consistent pressure. Plus he's a leader in the locker room. We should keep him.
  17. Might be the worst call I've seen in my life of watching football. I'm not being hyperbolic. That FG was wrong on so many levels.
  18. That they got from Houston in the first place. So are Miami and Houston just swapping back and forth?
  19. Olive is really an enigma. He's crazy athletic for a man his size, but he's still a bit undersized for the DT position. Started off slow his rookie season, but came on strong towards the end. Looked like he'd take a step forward this season... then Star opts out and Oliver is forced to play out of position a lot of times, and without much help on the line. Is he good? Yeah. Is he the game changer that you'd want from the 8th pick? Not right now. It's been 2 seasons, and we don't really have an answer on Oliver. Like you said, that's frustrating.
  20. I hear you there. I'm just not sure how so many can be so positive that Culley is going to fail. Though, losing Watson won't help his cause.
  21. I'm hoping he trades down. I'd rather have 3 2nd round picks than a 30th and 60th. We have holes to fill <insert ubiquitous Michael Scott joke here>. I'd like to see CB, OL, and athletic front 7.
  22. How many successful coordinators go on to fail as head coaches? A lot. This is because being a successful head coach is about more than coordinating one phase of the game. The head coach has to be a football smart CEO type, with strong leadership skills. I know next to nothing about Culley. So I don't know if he's a good coaching candidate. But hell, didn't Andy Reid go from QB coach straight to head coach?
  23. What a simple, yet effective way of putting this into perspective.
  24. I'd prefer we go o-line before RB. Better run blocking will help any running back. My preference in this draft would be to trade down. 3 2nd round picks sounds better to me than pick 30 and pick 60. Then take CB2, OL (guard or tackle depending on how we handle free agency), and athletic front 7 (DE or LB, again depending on what we do in free agency). Running back in the 3rd.
  25. I like Dane. There's a spot for him on the team. But I don't think he has the athleticism to be a full time CB2. That's the same limitation that Levi has. Good football players between the ears. That's important, but I can't see them as starters at CB2. I'd love to be wrong.
