If I could build an OT in a lab, he would look like Spencer Brown. The dude is absolutely elite in measurables and he's one of the top 20 athletes in the entire NFL (not hyperbole). He's is just raw. I'd bet Beane is nervous about Brown being another Wyatt Teller, as I am. But we do need to push his development by bringing in another starting caliber OT.

Very informative. A lot of very good work went into this, though I'm not sure it's myth busting. Seems to show the Bills are near the top in special teams spending. I'm not saying I disagree entirely with the Bills approach. The super bowl winners tend to be near top 5 in special teams each year.

I opened this thread expecting a Twice Zone episode...I was not disappointed. I kid. The idea seems fun, especially if we were talking about Henry and OBJ from 3 years ago. But I don't think they are currently these guys anymore. Plus I don't want to pay 10 M for a single running back. That's as much as I'm willing to pay for an entire backfield (3 backs).

I agree with you that he's been one of the best in the league lately (13 seconds aside). I'm not a McDermott hater. As I said, he had issues in the past with game management. He has improved, from year to year, into one of the better game day coaches. What I'm saying, is that I'm concerned he will regress if he has to focus on defensive play-calling. I don't see how that concern would be be controversial. I'm not trying to give a hot take or be argumentative.

I like what you said here. And I'm glad the Bills gave Poyer a little bonus this year as a classy way of saying thank you (and maybe avoiding an unnecessary distraction). He really gave us his all, but this is the business side of things.

I agree completely. I want to keep Tremaine, but would it be better to have him, or sign both Okereke and Nate Davis for the same price.

He still needs to manage the game when the offense is on the field, but if he's calling defense, he also needs to be managing in-game defensive scouting and adjustments. The d coordinator isn't just taking a break when the offense is on the field. I think I remember McDermott hired an assistant for game management. He'll need to lean on this assistant much more. Some head coaches can do this, but I'm nervous about McDermott's ability to be one of those guys.

McDermott has struggled with game management decisions in the past. The idea of him calling the defense is intriguing, but I'd imagine that the game management decisions will regress as a result. That makes me nervous.

I'm surprised at how many of the bottom teams (financially) don't even have a real franchise QB. Terrible cap management/team building. I think the dolphins blew their wad, last off-season, and expected a big year. They're in a tough spot moving forward.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree that we should draft or sign another safety, but keep in mind that Hyde and Poyer were both corners before coming here. Benford isn't very fast for a corner. Plus he has the size and ball skills to be a good safety. I'm intrigued to see what he can do back there. But like you said, we still need to draft/ sign one in case.
