  1. The Steelers had a long history of excellent drafting with Kevin Colbert. This combined with a HOF quarterback kept the team in the thick of the hunt for a Lombardi. They no longer have Big Ben, or Colbert. Their past team building strategies are gone. Looks like they're trying to find a new path.
  2. Milton Williams seems like the next pretty good player to turn a great superbowl performance into a huge contract. Like: Alvin Harper Larry Brown Dexter Jackson
  3. If the FA says, "no," then the answer is no. But the thing is, they won't say, "no," because of the implication.
  4. I remember JJ Watt wanting to "play for a winner," then signed a contract with Phoenix.
  5. And good DT play. We need better in the middle of the line for Groot to shine. I'm hoping for big upgrades there. When I say, "big," I mean that literally.
  6. So I guess we're not trading for DePaola. It's Beane even trying to win the superbowl? What are we doing here?
  7. He could be our new Lorenzo Alexander. Kind of reminds me of that kind of player.
  8. I don't know if I would call him a complete bust. But he's the worst kind of QB to have. Huge potential, but just can't put it all together. He's the kind of quarterback that keeps a team around 9 - 8. So he'll keep you from sinking, but he can't swim to safety.
  9. Benford reminds me a bit of Kyle Williams in that we can see how good he is, but no one in league media seems to talk about him. Kyle was a stud and one of the best DTs in the league but he didn't get the press either. And he played at a great value for the Bills his whole career. I absolutely think Benford is an elite top 10 CB. He locks down good receivers. It will be interesting to see what kind of contract he gets.
  10. Let's see what our new (very good) ST coordinator can get out of the new, young (very gifted) punter.
  11. Brown has been living off the glory of 1 season from 4 years ago. I wasn't at all worried when KC signed him last year. He just hasn't been consistently productive.
  12. The question should be which high end player, not named Miles Garrett. Having Garrett means we could legitimately say the Bills have the best offensive player, and best defensive player, in the entire NFL.
  13. Beane has done this multiple times in the past. Let a guy test the market. If he doesn't get signed (usually the case) Beane brings him back at less than the lower tender. BTW, I really like Morris. His number doesn't get called much, but when it does, he makes a big play.
  14. Does this mean Dyami Brown will be available? He's an interesting player. Low risk with some potential.
  15. I love Kelly. But the man was on a team stacked with Hall Of Famers, All-Pros, and Pro Bowlers. HE didn't get to 4 Superbowls on his own. Allen has been carrying this team. Your opinion is your opinion. So I won't say you're wrong. But I respectfully disagree.
  16. I want attacking, hungry, d-linemen. So far, I'm liking James Pearce and Omar Norman-Lott in the first 2 rounds. Both seem to get lined up pretty wide, but they get to the QB fast. Lott has no business getting off the line that fast at his size. Apparently there are some character issues with Pearce, so he may fall a bit.
  17. The questions are: Do we already have the replacement on the roster? Can equal production be replaced in FA for less than the savings? If either answer is yes, then they're likely cut. You can factor in morale, and team chemistry, but those are smaller considerations. With this being stated, I see Miller, Trubisky, Edwards, and Martin as cuts. That's about $17mil in savings based on those numbers. I'm sure there are post-June 1st designations that would change those figures.
  18. Key injuries the last few years, odd transitional year for Epenesa, Kincaid not getting stronger in year 2. Seems like upgrading is needed in strength and conditioning.
  19. I sincerely would like to thank him for everything he has done for this team. And I hope he gets his 15 million from some team in the NFL...just not from Buffalo.
  20. He's only had one year of double digit sacks. He's a good complimentary piece on a great dline. Bills fans would be disappointed in his production/compensation ratio.
  21. This is the least interested I've ever been in the superbowl. I'm not saying that hyperbolically. I'm just going for the food and my brothers' company.
  22. You're right. But it was the Rams team of yesteryear that did win a superbowl. I was only half serious. I want to build through the draft. I was just pointing out that Beane hasn't done well in the first 2 rounds. That's where you're supposed to be getting your probowl level players.
  23. If the Bills are taking pages out of someone from the NFC west, I'd do a bit of the Rams approach. Trading picks for proven commodities. Beane isn't getting much from rounds 1 & 2 in the draft anyway.
