Week 17 12/31/23 GAMEDAY Bills vs Patriots Pregame Thread
Captain_Quint replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jones gets it out quickly, but the team has already given up for the year. But you know they want to rain on our parade. I still think the Bills come out and take care of business in important game. -
Marv Levy was at One Bills Drive today!

Got to win one for Marv this year. -

DaQuan Jones is BACK - will play vs the Patriots

Hyde against the Dolphins is huge. He and Poyer have been successful against Tua since he started, and McD does well to confuse him. -
DaQuan Jones is BACK - will play vs the Patriots
Captain_Quint replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, I'd say he'll be on a pitch count, maybe coming in on 1st/2nd down for run defense. Or 3rd and long to anchor the middle. But it will be great to see he and Joseph both stuffed in the middle. Legs should be in good shape, but with a pec injury, he probably lost some upper body mass. -
The good news is that you can still piss in the bathroom sink for another 4 years. But after that, nothing is guaranteed.

Why is it so hard for fans to admit reality?
Captain_Quint replied to oldmanfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we went into a game where they had a new offense and defense, so there was little prep we could do. The gameplan was vanilla, and it worked against some guy named Stick and the interim coaching staff. If we don't fumble/throw a pick, it's a runaway game for us in the 2nd half. -
Is Josh Allen done? Under 50% completions, pulled from game.

Sherfield, too. At this point, those two might be doing more for the offense than they ever have by laying down some solid blocks. -

Good choice. -
Good point. Parsons rushes from the right and Josh does a good job stepping around it from that direction. But this is my biggest matchup for this game. Hopefully Knox just stays on the line and shadows Parsons wherever he goes for the double team.

I'd rather he go to Kincaid 9 out of 10 times, but that was probably the one time that he should have glanced at Gabe.

Bills Hire DJ Mangas as Offensive Assistant
Captain_Quint replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, the Cook wheel routes caught them off guard and worked great (since he caught the ball this game). I doubt that same play will be there going forward. But it could showcase some of Brady's creativity if we run it as a fake and throw it elsewhere, knowing that other teams will key on it. These last few games will be interesting to watch unfold. -

I hope they look outside the team for the next OC. Brady is on game 3 in his honeymoon phase. He's doing well, but the rest of the season will be harder for the offense with the game tapes rolling in. -

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas

Any chance something like this voids part of his contract? Would be nice to get a discount on him if he's gonna be on the books for 3 yrs. -

I was hoping McD would throw a chair on the field ala Bobby Knight when Josh was horsecollared and then called for intentional grounding. -
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, Surrender Edition
Captain_Quint replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, I'd say in the offseason. Do the thing where you conduct interviews during the playoffs, and then as soon as the season ends, announce the new coach. I like the Lions OC Johnson after seeing their offense evolve the past 2 years. -

Captain_Quint replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
He should, so he can get a jump on the candidates for next year. More likely, he waits until the season is over, and we get the 3rd or 4th guy off the stack. I would take the best OC available for head coach and to call plays. Then get a defensive retread with a similar scheme to coach up the D. -
Really good game for von to become von again
Captain_Quint replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
My thought exactly. He and Epenesa both do it too much, but Epenesa is still agile enough to work back down sometimes and make plays on the edge after going upfield. Haven't seen that with Von yet this year, and Hurts needs to be contained. Having a spy on him will help contain, but it will also open up passing lanes against our already weak secondary.
