Watkins, Hopkins, someone like that who has great hands and catches the ball out in front of them, I agree. I havent paid enough attention to college ball this year to know who that is, but hoping there is someone like that near our draft slot.
It works well, too. It gives him a break and allows him to focus on rushing the passer. It's the way alot of the older pass rushers play out the twilight of their careers.
I'd love to see him stay for the future and put him in on obvious passing situations. He has a pretty good contract and has been paid already.
Then Josh needs to bounce back. It's a huge game, and he laid an egg last week. He's not going anywhere, but if we're going to make the playoffs and compete, he needs to get better. Just like Daboll.
Y'all are crazy if you think a talent like him is coming back to backwards Buffalo. Y'all go back to working Y'alls little jobs the rest of y'alls lives. Y'all want a response, here go one.
Those few plays where they didnt look good have been from Ford. He's a step behind the DE most of the time and isnt quick enough to catch up. Unless he finds some technique to change that, he'll continue getting beat around the edge.
It wasnt just Dallas either. Find the blown plays from other games and you'll see Ford missing assignments on the right side.
The "late slider" comment is interesting because our coaching staff and Josh has said he needs to learn to slide better. I just think he never wants to slide but knows he has to sometimes. Where some qbs are always looking to start that slide early, hes more interested in getting that extra yard.
Still should have been a penalty there, but I would say that was a late slide when you watch it again.
