  1. Not 2 games, 16 games. Thats why he has to play the full season and not Jones.
  2. But then dump Tyrod at years end? Or pay him $27 million next year? Thats the options based on his current contract (although Im not real familiar with what he needs to hit as far as incentives). I say play Tyrod all year no matter the record. If he gets hurt, then you have to decide on EJ or Jones. If Tyrod continues on his current path, I cant see paying him elite money next year. If he shows promise, we pay him the big money his contract warrents and head into next year with our QBs as Tyrod, Jones, and ???
  3. It looked intentional. Gilmore was sick of getting pushed around and embarrassed by Marshall, so he did the only thing he could, a cheapshot. After the tackle, he didnt try to disguise it, or even look back at Marshall, just walked away.
  4. Theres no reason to. Give Tyrod all season to play. They have to know beyond a reasonable doubt whether to cut him this offseason or not. Huge money is at stake next year for him and so far, hes flatlined. We dont need a 25 million dollar placeholder while we look for another QB.
  5. I think that youre right here (aside from your horrible choice of tone/attempt at riling people up). The run 'bread and butter' play is the jet sweep, where the RB makes one cut and goes. Karlos, JWill, Gilly do this well and it usually goes behind Richie. This hasnt worked well through 2 games. The passing is the scramble & bomb. Definately not sustainable unless you consider Cutler sustainable. They need Watkins and Clay on the 10-20yd routes. The offense doesnt work without those. It opens up the bomb and the running game.
  6. We'll see this week what they have planned. If Roman was really trying to implement hundreds of plays each week, then confusion is warrented. Was that his MO in San Fran, too? Personally, I think its Tyrod, and Roman thought he had someone he didnt. Realistically, Lynn has an audition starting Sunday, and better figure something out to right the ship. If the O doesnt show signs of progress before the bye, start planting the dynamite and blow the bridge when Pegs feels the time is right.
  7. Streamlined offense = we're gonna run variations of the same 10 plays over and over until the season ends or the owners continue firing the coaching staff. The optomist in me says that it'll be good to see Tyrod under center, throwing more timed routes. Seeing the RBs one cut and go. Throws over the middle, and everything else that we've been lacking so far. However, the odds of that happening and working are slim. No, I see us cutting alot of the playbook out (which isnt what good teams do), and having some success with it in the 1st half, or maybe even the whole Cards game. But its not sustainable. Teams will figure out that they know whats coming. And we arent good enough or confident enough to execute like that.
  8. Dont forget that he allowed Manny Lawson to beat up his old lady (or whatever he did) and then had to cut him. But to be fair, the bi*** had it comin.
  9. How many times will Weo say "stomped" in this thread? I think its officially a "money grab" at this point.
  10. Schwartz and Roman would make a good combo. Too bad we had one in 2014 and the other in 2015.
  11. I agree with the point about the presnap reads. Its so frustrating to have them line up, know what play theyre running, and just snap the ball. Like theyre practicing or playing in a vaccuum. The best QBs, and even the mediocre ones like Fitz, call out the D theyre seeing, etc. What was Tyrod doing for 4 years behind Flacco? Thats when he should have learned this stuff. Baltimore knew thats the part of his game that was lacking which is why they said "We're gonna make him be a QB". Sadly, Tyrod will continue to be a 'bottom 1/3' QB until he gets cut. Unless he learns to read a Defense, he'll have to keep relying on athletic ability, which doesnt get you very far in the NFL anymore.
  12. This will be like when Hackett was the coordinator. Theyll have about 6 plays that they run over and over throughout the season. After the first week, everyone will know them and they will get blown up over and over. There just isnt enough time to completely change an offense midseason.
  13. Yeah, if there was a hole to crawl into, Gilmore would have last night. He played like a rookie or someone who just doesnt care. This is what the NFL has become, though. When you feel like quitting, go ahead, because another team will pay you anyway. No matter how he plays the rest of the year, someone will give him 12million next year.
  14. When Hughes bit his tongue and had to go out for a few snaps, the passrush never recovered. Not sure if he hit his head too (announcers said they checked his jaw, too) but he barely caused any discomfort for Fitz from that point forward. Outside of him, we have no passrushers, so I would say yes, those who were missing made a difference.
