Week 6 predictions: Bengals at Bills
Jmsbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defense Defense Defense. They will have a full week to prepare and will play lights out against the Bengals. We have not played a great game at home since week 1 and with the injuries the D will rise. On offense we will play better than expected and provided we can get Sammy and Karlos back. Lets go BILLS. ( remember we won with Thad and should have with Tuel - we are much better off now than then) -
Bills Among NFL's 1st Quarter Disappointments
Jmsbills replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We looked bad on Sunday - but please take a deep breath - let's see what happens over the next three weeks. We must go 2-1 and hopefully 3-0 - Must wins are Tennesseee and Jacksonville. If we can beat the Bengals at home - then all is well. At 5-2 with only one conference loss ( division game against NE) we are in control of our own playoff destiny. However, if we fall to 3-4 then all bets are off and the playoffs could be in jeopardy. We need to get though the next three weeks without any more significant injuries and get Sammy and Shady healthy - we still have no real idea how good the offense can be due to the injuries. At 5-2 with a bye week and getting healthy for the second half of the season - we could make a serious run for a top spot and remove the "disappointing" tag. It all starts this Sunday - and it is looking like we will be short handed again on offense. -
Tyrod = Jeff Blake v. 2.0 (or who do you say?)
Jmsbills replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod - was never much of a passer at VA Tech and I do not see him ever being more than what we seen thus far - some good some bad and not great with the long ball. It would like to see him throw down field more and if no one is open take off running - use his strengths. He will never be a prototypical pocket passer so do not try to put the square peg into the round hole. Go with his talents. -
Ugly in all three phases -nothing more need be said. A sad performance.

What was the gameplan today? I have no idea what they are trying to do offensively or defensively. Unfortunately neither to the players or coaches. Let's hope the make some serious adjustments at half time.

How Do We Convince Roman To Stay?
Jmsbills replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's hope he has Anthony Lynn and Sanjay Lal incorporated into his game planning meetings and discussions - and let's hope they have the same type of offensive philosophy and the ability to take over the OC job if it becomes available. GR will be a the top of many teams list after this season. -
Urbik is just what the "Doctor Ordered" he best backup Guard/Center in the NFL.

All-22 Bills vs. Pats* -- Joe B.
Jmsbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We got man handled and Joe B gives everyone passing grades and most with B or better. What game was he watching. Just a joke. Why waste out time - someone please tell it like it is. On Sunday we played like garbage - nothing else to say. It may have been bad game or it is who we are. Only time will tell. But please to give our theses grades on that type of performance is ridiculous. Let's worry about Miami and give a real "A" performance. -
Unfortunately - I think we saw the real Tyrod today. He was nothing at VaTech. Did nothing at Baltimore and did nothing today. I hope I am wrong- but I think Tyrod played over his head in limited action in pre season and against the Colts last week. He looked like a third string QB when it counted for mos of the game today. Maybe we can blame it on the coaching and game plan but if was bad today. Let's see what happens next week in Miami.

Matt Cassel re-signed, will be #2 QB
Jmsbills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I assume he got the vet minimum and maybe some bonus $$$ if he plays. Great Move by FO - still want to see TT and EJ succeed and then no need for vet back up next year. -
Who is all going to the Colts game?
Jmsbills replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes will be there section 136 - flying in from Fort Lauderdale Thursday. -
ESPN: Some doubt LeSean McCoy will be ready for opener
Jmsbills replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For what is worth our running game has look good all pre-season with a bunch of no names - I am confident that our O-line can open holes for the running game. Indy is not a great run D team - so no worries - all is good. -
Cost difference of cutting/trading a QB - only 1.35m
Jmsbills replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
usually all high drafted rookies have the 5th year option -
Cost difference of cutting/trading a QB - only 1.35m
Jmsbills replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cut Cassel now - we need all the cap space we can get. We need approximately 20 million to resign MD, CG, SG and NB. MD now counts 8 mil. He will get 11 mil. CG is at 1.5 Mil and will get 8 mil at least. SG is at 3.8 mil and will get 9-10 mil. NB is at 1.6 mil and will get at least 5 mil. We are going nowhere with Cassel - and must resign our guys. -
Edit: now confirmed rumor that Bills will release Cassel
Jmsbills replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's all about economics of the NFL - need to resign MD, NB and SG on defense and CG on offense. Enough said - MC out he door. Can not afford 4.7 million for a journeyman QB - he is Fitz, Orton, etc. - go with TT and EJ - either one can get us to the playoffs and will be less expensive combined than MC. -
Why do only 47 players dress for game?
Jmsbills replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It what the NFL calls " competitive balance". I have no idea what that means - but that's the real reason. -
EJ - cut Cassel and keep Simms - it's all just a matter of economics - just ask Fred. This only happens if EJ continues to show progress over the next two weeks. Unfortunately, none of us or the media will ever see what happens in practice over the next two weeks.
-
Please cut Cassel - we have been down that road since JK retired -

Whaley is an idiot for cutting Fred
Jmsbills replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a business and if you are going to be successful in the long term - you have to make some real difficult decisions. Good teams always have to make theses types of cuts. -
QB Tyrod Taylor to start Week 1
Jmsbills replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well - let's cut Cassel and resign our guys -MD, NB, CG and SG. I really like TT but do not think he is the long term solution, but let's give him the opportunity. We can allow EJ to contiue to develop under this staff. If TT is the answer then great, if not and EJ continues to improve, then great. If not we are in QB purgatory as DW suggested. I am just glad we did not go with Cassel. -
It's all about the $$$$$ - nothing more - nothing less. This fees up 2.7 million. That simple. I hope Shady stays healthy all year long.
-
I have no idea and none of us do. But I think most of us agree it's either TT or EJ. Please trade or cut Cassel. We have been down that road since JK has retired. Please give us a QB with some upside. Our defense will be good enough to to over come and short coming of our QB's in the early stages of the season. I have seen such growth in EJ and TT and to not allow them to grow would be the wrong decision. Under GR we need a versatile QB who can grow into a Franchise QB - not a "care taker". I for one do not see GR being here for a long time as he may be a head coach next season - so let's not take a step backwards and give the job to MC. I can only hope that REX and DOUG are allowing Anthony Lynnn to absorb everything that GR does and grooming him or some other assistant to take over the OC reigns. It will be interesting to see how quickly the QB decision becomes public.
