But many talking heads are saying that the receivers made Josh & if only Lamar had them.....🙄 Of course we did draft Zay Jones..... Very simply every receiver the Bills have traded, let go or left the past 4 years have pretty much disappeared (except and let's not start an argument, because he has been paid Watkins).

And when does the following start? How do you turn a productive receiver in to a has been? Have Lamar as his QB.....😉 (I don't 100% believe it, but certainly he does not make receivers better or get them a "pay day"). And so was McD in 2018/19..... -

50% of Lamar's passes are to "Safety Valves". Yes I'm being sarcastic...... -

Greeny would too I bet you take Lamar over Allen. He's been slow in acknowledging Allen and this is his narrative. Surprise, goes right to the title of this thread & what I expect to hear...... You are too 100% correct that Diggs made all the catches he should (though he did have 5 drops) and also some difficult catches, but "wow" ones I don't remember. Put a reel of Lamar's great throws (and not those the result of busted coverage after incredible escapism in the pocket) and it will be a short one. Allen on the other hand. Just the two to Davis on the run along the sideline last week, still are hard to truly appreciate. -

Great response. Sometimes people disagree.... BTW Tyrod was the QB in 2016 and the Bills Offense was 16th in the league & 30th the next year. McD then started Peterman vs. SD in 2017 & then doubled down on him in 2018. That tells me all I need to know. Case closed.... -

Sure tell me how year's 1-3 we saw anything that said MCD was concerned about the offense. And yes I found the word Process a Bills created mantra. I have applauded the Management, coaching and GM. There were stumbles, but yes we're all excited. -
I'll first comment on weather. Saw how it affected the game Saturday & yep that will be a crucial factor on Sunday. Frankly Saturday it affected Buffalo & Allen all night. He thought he can throw long and just could not. This allowed the defences to constrict the field and takes away from his strength. https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/mo/kansas-city So yes will be watching the forecast all week. As for KC, I do want Mahomes healthy. We saw Huntley move the ball and seen it before, a let down playing back-ups. Don't want the Bills backing into the Superbowl & then hearing "But if Mahomes had played" or the worst case scenario "The Bills blew their chance at a Superbowl birth, Henne leads Chiefs to victory".

Will agree with all others, but year 1-3 there was no if's and or buts that he wanted to win games 17-13 and they were terrible on offense 30,29 & 24th. I've also praised him for figuring it out this year. The Process is Bull.... Good coaching, ethic and management. I'm a Toronto Raptors fan.... Thankfully I never had to hear the word Process. Drives me crazy. -

Well the second miss was at 17-3 (and both of theirs did hit the upright).... So let's pretend it is 20-9, still a big gap. -

No, but add his legs and he is very scary.... What is something else is looking at the Raven's wins. Outside 47-42 over Cleveland & 30-28 vs. Philly, they won by 32,17,14,24,14,17,26,17,14 & 35!!!! Their losses, they never came back...... Same story on Saturday. -
So the Lamar excuses start????
Billsfan1972 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I take it all back.... This was as said again seeing what happens almost every time the Ravens face a tough team. They are very good, Lamar is a dynamic qb, seems like a good person. He will move the ball, but as soon as they need to put up points to win a game, no one has seen Lamar do it. It was reading the article and not at all questioning Jackson, that to me thought was again making excuses for Lamar. He is a limited QB at this point in his career. Much like I did for Allen year two.....😜 -
So the Lamar excuses start????
Billsfan1972 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He doesn't throw & is not overly accurate. Is he a great runner & dynamic.... Yes..... I posted this earlier today.... https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/17258/willie-snead-iv The thread was based on what I expect many analysts and articles that will continue to defend Lamar. If Allen threw that pick 6, it would have been a different narrative. -

That was the point... EXCUSES!!!! The Ravens scored 3 points & Lamar threw a 101 yard pick six. Can you imagine Nick Wright (yes our new whipping bow) if that was Josh???? -

They don't pass & Lamar as a passer is below average right now. -

Want to bet Diggs wouldn't be screaming at him him like he did Cousins??? Diggs would be apoplectic with 100 targets......😜 -

Billsfan1972 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brown had only 100 targets this year. ANother great receiver and that means less. They are a running team and no FA WR wants to go there under those circumstances. However Allen is a passer, not a runner and we know how bad the receivers were year 1, and improved year 2, but the offensive game plan was basically "Don't make mistakes, because our defense will win us 20-17 games", which is what I said all year. Remember no 300 yard passing games for three straight years. Longest by any other team was 17. -

Here is the Ringer Article... https://www.theringer.com/nfl-playoffs/2021/1/17/22235510/baltimore-ravens-go-bust-buffalo-bills Part of it said Lamar needs the weapons Josh has and he'd be "better" & since Allen did it, of course Lamar can too.(paraphrasing) Yep too lazy to look for others, which is why I posted....😜 I like Lamar as a person, just think he has had too many accolades..... -
Just read a Ringer article with the same excuses..... Imagine Allen throwing a 101 yard pick 6? Any articles or people questioning Lamar after yesterday? He needs better receivers seems to be a tired excuse. As I said elsewhere "How do you know, when you throw so little and very few are actual traditional plays as most are a result of Lamar's athleticism and many busted plays"? And what receiver would sign to play with Lamar and this offense?
-
They played very well yesterday, but still some cracks. Will highlight two plays that cost the Bills huge field position & probably points. 1. Bills have sacked Lamar, then a Holding penalty & two false starts have the raven's at their 1 yard line. Allow an easy 12 yard throw and then convert a 3rd & 18.... Bad. Raven's do punt and then get the ball back, which leads to some soft coverage and the FG before the half. 2. Lamar out and first play by Huntly again from the 2 and he scrambles for 20 yards. Kick and the Bills start is the 24. Cost them 25-30 yards that play.
-
Instead of a new thread, will try and resuscitate this one.....😜 Biggest concern was the weather and frankly that was a huge disadvantage to the Bills. Yep & said that on Monday.... Allen couldn't go long and the wind was a significant factor. Lamar had some great runs and eluded tackles too. While no points the Bills when Lamar was sacked and three penalties had them second and 32 from the 1 and the Bills let up a bit, cost the Bills points. How they let them get an easy 12 yard gain & then a 20 yard one could have been the turning point.

The End of the Lamar Jackson Era
Billsfan1972 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do we know they're the worst? Seems like a chicken or egg argument. Lamar "fans" will tell you that. Others see a QB who is under average out of the pocket and can't make great reads. He is plenty elusive and often makes great plays when coverage breaks down. All qb's will hit some throws and those will be the one's his "backers" will point to. However only last week (and it was only 10-0 in the first) did Lamar come back in a game.
