Both of them (4th quarter & OT) Diggs was interfered with. However both calls I wasn't happy with either. Again just an opinion.
-
No I am making an honest assessment (and yes my opinion). I don't know or can't attribute all the good things to him, like some do here. Maybe we are just so talented a team, that we cover up even more of his mistakes. What I have seen this year though is no growth from him (in 2020 I applauded him for allowing the offense to open up and yep 300 yard passing games). This year I've seen what appears to be McD being outcoached a # of weeks when playing teams that I think the Bills are better then. Do you agree or disagree?
-
Well just because you said so...... By all means lock the thread.....😡 Another McD truther..... Again I say don't fire him, but tired of people anointing him. For instance the Bills stunk out the joint Sunday's first half & some then state he took over the Defense & turned the game around. How about he take control from Daboll inside the 10 and then we score every time too???!!!!😜
-
Actually I'd question that. On third & 2 you have minimum two plays to get the first down/td. They took a 50/50 shot on a stupid fade, not utilizing 4-5 other weapons. But yes you're right Daboll blew the 3rd down call...... I would however blame that on McD, because this has been an issue all year & nothing has changed & not one innovative play called when needed. Anyone else see for instance OJ's easy TD Monday night? Do that and then clock the ball (if didn't score) and still have 2 shots at the endzone. There were so many options.
-
The defense was shredded the entire first half and yep played better, but did allow yards and it is Brady and eventually you expect it to even out. Any turnovers, sacks (one I think) and huge losses? No.... They played much better, but anyone who has more trust in this defense vs. Josh Allen getting 2 yards in 2 plays (or 7 yards for a TD), please explain (of course there is the anchor Daboll to account for).
-
The third down play stunk too (though we all know there should have been a penalty). Point is they have so many options with Allen and chose him making a touch pass and no other options even considered. There were 30 seconds left, plenty of time for the fg if needed. Yes I would have gone for it. Again time was not a factor. These are things you practice.

I was just again pointing out the general issues and those three calls are indicative of deeper issues. OT, the Bills have the ball and can't afford top give it to Brady. So what are the calls????? A run and two short passes. Just pathetic.....
-
I'm looking at your screen name and hope the post reflects it...... Daboll is okay. Again he has not done well this year and particulalrly bad inside the 10 yard line. If he was responsible for those 3 calls in OT, then again there are issues.
-
Exactly.... This year is skewed by beating up on bad opponents and inexperienced QB's. The pass rush is not good. Watch the pressure Allen was under vs. the Bucs and how little we've generated when needed.
-
And that is the point. He won't be fired (maybe he'll find a better job??), but that doesn't take away from his shortcomings, which have been on display all year.

Luv anytime people question McD as we have those ready to move on and then those who are members of what I call the "Cult of McD". I think he's a good coach. Has he got the most out of this team? Are his game time decisions good? Is his game plan good? Is he the beneficiary of great players or has he put them in position to succeed? As said he has grown on me, but I certainly am not convinced he is great. Would I can him? No. I want to see him grow and make smarter decisions and be more decisive. Will continue to reserve judgement.
-
And yes the Bills are the only team in the NFL to allow more then one 60 yard TD run this year. A fact, look it up.... But remember, nothing is McD's fault or responsibility.
-
Again excuses..... If going for it with Tennessee, they should have been ready and have a play called, been on the line. Look at the replay and yes Josh slipped, but there were more Titans on the line then Bills. Vs. the Bucs, again third & fourth down they did not have that play ready to run and then threw that fade, which was a penalty, but if not still not a high % play. Then add the first drive in OT was garbage. That's coaching.

I love the cult of McD..... Started very early his first year. TBH he has grown on me, ever since he figured out that 300 yards passing is not a terrible thing and understood you can't rely on 17-14 games weekly. But he has certainly regressed this year and has been badly outcoached way too often. And then those who grasp at straws (like vs. TB saying he took over the defense after being gouged for 300 first half yards), there's always excuses. He was badly outcoached in every loss and even the wins didn't set himself apart. Add to that terrible results in every close game, you have to question him. No they won't fire him, unless a complete meltdown and miss the playoffs at 9-8, which certainly will raise questions.

How to fix the reffing problem in the NFL
Billsfan1972 replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
How complicated do you want it? There is human error, but even with replay, the stupidity and how long it takes is ridiculous. Most can make the decision in 30 seconds, but then the Head ref going into a booth is idiotic. Simply those in the "command center" call down, tell them there is a review and tell them what the result is. I.e. spot of the ball, TD, fumble or Int. For penalties, only allow Interference, Defensive holding and dangerous plays (horse collar, face mask, leading with helmet). Look the best is the Coach get's a challenge on one PI or flagrant foul call a game (nothing else) and loses a timeout or 15 yard penalty or loss of an extra down (which the Bills had none Sunday). But at the end of the day can you imagine, no flags thrown on the Diggs play and then as Bass trots out the Ref waves time as there is a booth review???? Now Bucs fans go crazy. The Refs were responsible for the outcome Sunday and not sure what could be done. -
Inside the 20 with a chance to win it two games in a row

I was having fun. Happy Holidays too. Interesting points & agree wholeheartedly. I know McD is going nowhere, but he has not been good this year and regressed into some old patterns. Look at me here all the time. They have greatly underachieved and had some bad luck too, but really no reason they don't run the board and make noise in the playoffs and then this will all be a distant memory.😜 I'll tell you I'll be pissed if they lose the rematch with NE too. -
Pass Interference in the NFL is a complete joke
Billsfan1972 replied to muppy's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's been shown they don't need to vs. the Bills.......😜 -
And a similar throw to Diggs on third down in OT too was a penalty not called. So many plays they can call and exploit Allen's unique skills & they don't. This was a crucial play, 3rd & 2 and the Bills chose not to use Allen's best skills and 4-5 other players and were relying on a one on one battle and the refs making the right call. Davis, Beasley, Knox, the RB & Allen's legs were not even an option..... All year every Redzone TD seemed like a slog, requiring a perfect throw. Did you see yesterday OBJ and the simple TD toss Stafford made? Where has that been all year?
-
Nothing close to OPI. Talking heads saying so were just playing the game. How about the tug on the jersey, that's clear as day? How about the one in OT where again Diggs was interfered with or the tugging of his jersey on the the Bomb he then lost track of? Tampa never interfered or held the whole game?
