THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - No Bills on Sunday Afternoon, No Problem
Billsfan1972 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
The way he catches & holds on to the ball is incredible. Again wouldn't give up Diggs and if the Bills didn't pick Jefferson, who was not a lock, this would be a completely different team too. What scared me yesterday was seeing how good the Cincy receivers were in catching the ball in tough situations. Outside Diggs, been a while since I remember a great catch or effort by a Bills receiver. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - No Bills on Sunday Afternoon, No Problem

Home field will be crucial. Big difference in Cincy, Minny & SF yesterday. -
Lamar Jackson leaves denver game with knee injury
Billsfan1972 replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Scary to think that's exactly what the Bills would look like should Allen get injured. -
He was in the process of falling to the ground in the end zone. Yes his feet were in the field of play but to me that should have been called a safety as the play if completed would have been a sack in the endzone. Should thie rule be changed (yes probably a 1 in 100,000 occurance).

Yes I am a glass-half-empty person especially when it comes to the Superbowl this year. Minimum the Bills have to be in it. If they aren't I can only imagine the glass-half-full contingent thanking McD for overcoming such obstacles this year and all the other praise that we will see. How about reading the Title of the thread. OL Pass blocking was terrible times vs. NE & Drops - But a comfortable win I called it a Comfortable Win. I guess that's not enough.
-
Long time ago and when the Bills were a real tough watch. No team in the modern NFL (last 20 years) accomplished that feat of 50 odd games. McD had no interest in offence those first three years. As said he's grown on me however that ineptitude with regards to throwing the football has not been matched by anyone. Let's not forget he put his faith in Nathan Peterman. And then double down as the starter the following year.😜 I was looking for a thread that addressed my observations, there were none, or comments embedded in other threads. Sorry you have an issue.

I love Diggs, but doesn't mean I can't be upset when he drops a pass (especially at a crucial time). Vs. Minny, the ultimate blame goes to Allen for the OT pick. No idea what he was thinking. However the drop late in the game was crucial (and uncharacteristic). Thanks for the support. Trust me, when I started the thread I thought it was pretty mundane. As you can see some people turned it into a number of other things, that yes I've bitten on and then debated, but the thread was about the OL and Drops. Yes I was looking for attention saying the OL was bad and too many drops on a fan site discussing the Bills and the game. Talk about thin skinned.😡

So looking at the reactions to the OP tells me exactly what I need to know about this site. 4 Thumbs Down - Does that mean that the OL played well and that I was wrong about the drops? 2 Laughs - Huh? What was so funny about the thread..... I guess I'm not in on the joke 3 Eye Rolls - I get it, how dare I post anything that could be construed as negative. 1 Agree - Only one agreed that the OL was bad and there were too many drops Always interesting to see these. I juxtapose with last week pro Bills Thread praising the coaching and 88 people agreeing with it. Very obvious, Pro Bills Threads (especially praise of McD) will be applauded, anything the least bit negative (and remember I did not talk about the win, just two observations) are pilloried.

Do I dive a damn who likes me on some anonymous Bills fan board? Intelligent people I respect as I do smart debate. These are neither. The thread was about the OL play and that I saw a # of drops. You and others brought up yards and the offense and yes I bit and responded. My expectations for the Bills are much higher then some. I'm okay with 9-3, just think they've haven't played too many really good games of late and issues in the second half, but that is another thread, that I'm not going to start.😉 Have you even answered the original post. Was the OL bad and were there too many drops?

Huh????? Again you make no sense. You make a comment that if NE didn't rip off a big play for a TD they score only 3? What does that mean???? BTW it was a pretty simple play they turned into a long TD and was on 2nd and 5 (heck a good bounce & the Bills recover the prior play). I pointed out two plays that very few QB's make both on 3rd down that resulted in an extra 11 points for Buffalo and you're arguing that? Here's a simple question..... Are 3rd and long conversions more important then those on first or second down? I'll answer for you.... YES they are.
-
Again context..... The thread pointed out that I saw a lot of drops Thursday and that it stuck out to me. Big picture, it mattered little vs. NE Thursday. This happens in the playoffs and the Bills lose, different story. I also noted the Diggs drop was reminiscent of the one late in the game vs. Minny, that would have ended the game effectively. Yes I know many things went wrong that game (and I erased my recording of the game as I was so disgusted), but that was a big drop.

I am as big a fan as there is. The thread pointed out two things that concerned me. Heck I didn't talk about the win for the most part or what I thought about the game, just that I who seldom get's caught up in the OL and the nuances, saw some terrible play by the line. I also counted at least 5 drops, which is an unusually high amount. Others here seem to get very upset when anyone points out anything the least bit negative. Week 3, the national media already were talking just how good the Bills were and the Superbowl odds were ridiculously low. Allen was by far the MVP favourite too. After the KC win, 16-1 was discussed. Now a 24-10 win vs. NE is considered a watershed moment. I thought it was a little disjointed effort, but again wasn't the point of the thread. Others here changed the narrative and yes I responded. BTW Buffalo Bills lead the league in drops. https://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?type=Receiving&range=NFL&rank=232

Just refuting garbage responses. So 5 drops a game is normal according to you? The Bills amassing 355 yards is a good yardstick for this offense? 24 points is a great offensive performance? My expectations are higher. Happy with win, however was just okay. Context...... The comment above was highlighting the importance of Josh that got them to 24 and not 13 points. Two incredible plays that only Allen and Mahomes make.
-
Whoa...... 117 yards on 27 carries is not something to crow on and on about. It was good yesterday, but still under 5 yards a carry. Still were a lot of 2nd and 8's or 9's and third and 3. JA did the heavy lifting.

They are 6-6, not a juggernaut. Jones' stats are fraudulent if you ask NE fans who watch every game. Their dvoa is highly skewed on three games versus Indianapolis, New York and shutting out the Detroit Lions & throw in the Pittsburgh game. Otherwise they've been ordinary. 9-15 on third down was pretty much all Allen. Cherry Picked stats? I pointed out the line did not play well and that is the fact. Allen was hit six times, sacked twice and a forced fumble. He makes the line look better than it is. Keep trying
