  1. Agree 110%. Want to have an offensive star to cheer for and instead it's a joke. This is a QB's league and receivers are hugely important. I like TT, but if he is having trouble reading coverages, the coaching is lousy and you don't tell him to throw to Watkins, just exacerbates the point. Again here are the top receivers and targets. Top 25 have at least 8/game and 5 receptions (if played all 10 games)... http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving/sort/receivingTargets
  2. Yep the refs were atrocious, but the game was there for the taking Fourth & under 5 and NE runs into the kicker and no flag or replay. Was in a bar and again scratching my head. That would have been a first down. No PI on Hogan pass. Text book simple call. How many times the Bills have been called and I am upset with the DB/LB and concede what an obvious call it is. TT ignoring Watkins again. This is plain stupid. The article looking at Deandre Hopkins and his 1 targets/game with worse QB's tells you all you need to know How come NE get's receivers over the middle and moving and Buffalo just don't? Watkins should be catching passes on the run Defense played well, but again a missed tackle (last minute of first half) and one long gain negates much of it. Wasted timeouts..... Dumb dumb dumb..... Two minute offense pathetic. Bills last play or not advanced the ball 35 yards in 2 minutes. One sack, but no sense of urgency. Coaching & TT unprepared. 3rd & 6" from midfield. Run up as Brady does and sneak it. Terrible 3rd down play calling throughout. First play of the game we complete a 9 yarder and still a three and out..... Off to KC who the Bills have manhandled the last two years and still managed to lose.......
  3. And another interesting table...... http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2015/
  4. Only 8 targets...... Still not enough. If I was Sammy, reading the list below I'd be upset too. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/receiving/sort/receivingTargets Not everything will be so perfect, where there are only 12 passes in a game and the running game is so good. Yes he's missed missed 4 games, but in the other 4, less then 6 targets/game or 58th in the league...... BTW take a look at poor Antonio Brown and what happened to him with Big Ben out.
  5. Both TD's were huge.... One an 80 yarder to win in OT and the other tied the game @ 49 vs. NYG......
  6. Got lucky on that play and the WIlliams TD could have been called a touchback (stupid rule in anycase). Can't complain about the reffing for a change.
  7. And so far this season a staggering 26 targets & 18 catches, which is two weeks for Odell, Julio or Antonio. As said the most positive note was that TT looked at him first, not Clay or Woods. Interesting but when they'd line up, this week you could tell Watckins was the target.
  8. Yes it is a silly observation, and I do not think 66.7% of all targets should be to one player, but it was really interesting to see that TT was actually looking at Watkins on those plays. Add to that he was responsible for 92.8% (168 of 181 total) of the total pass yardage (must be a record). But then let's look at Odell Beckham & Julio Jones who had 17 targets yesterday and Antonio Brown 23!!!!
  9. Except penalties are penalties and all were legitimate. The #'s are staggering. Watch other games and 50% of the penalties.
  10. And Taylor looked for him and he was lined up and they ran plays that allowed passes to be made. I actually saw him in the slot...... Everything went right today.
  11. Only 8 targets!!!!
  12. And that lousy defence on the 4th down pass will cost the bills 30 yards...... Defense has not been good.
  13. Again this was Jacksonville. They also had a 73 yd TD drive, a 36 yd drive that had two out of the three plays stopped in the back field & that 79 yard 10 min drive. All teams have 3 & outs during a game, don't go on about how wonderful Buffalo is becuase they had some too... Two of the TD's were on third downs and the final was a 31 yard out play when the whole point was don't let them score a td!!!!!
  14. Flacco is not Bortles..... Jax got on the Bills side of the field and scored everytime (outside 4 runs from the 3). This was supposed to be at worst a top 5 defense, with an elite line with all the worries about the offense. At home the Bills D has been very suspect. Add to that missed coverages and bad tackling at inopportune times has too cost Buffalo.
  15. Beating the Titans is not something that should be at the top of your resume.
  16. needs to be held accountable. This was to be the Bills strength. Thus far average (or below) at best. The Offense has been actually much better then expected, but when a stop is needed, a big play required or the line to come through, it has not been there. Add to that penalties, redzone defense (one int vs. NYG and the stop yesterday) and third down conversions and you just shake your head. I did post eslewhere but yesterday again is a perfect example. This is Blake Bortles and he drove 84 yards to win the game. They had a 75 yard TD drive and converted key third downs in the red zone. Even the short drive contained two consecutive plays where the bills stuffed the receiver and rb behind the line and both times they gained positive yardage (the second resulting in a 28 yard TD run). The 79 yard 10 minute dirve, Bills fans are supposed to applaud because they were stopped on the 1 yard line? This came after the Bills had seized momentum (scoring 10 points prior to half) and then killed by that drive. As for the line, here are their stats wrt sacks & qb hits through 7 weeks. So far this season..... Indy 2 Sacks 6 Hits NE 2 5 Mia 2 10 NYG 1 1 Tenn 2 7 Cin 0 1 Jax 2 3 11 27 And when you need a play, they haven't delivered.
  17. Not the point. Just a comment on the lack of pressure.
  18. JJ Watt..... 2 Sacks, 4 QB hits, more then the entire Bills team. And this was one of their best games!!!!! So far this season..... Indy 2 Sacks 6 Hits NE 2 5 Mia 2 10 NYG 1 1 Tenn 2 7 Cin 0 1 Jax 2 3 11 27 And when you need a play, they haven't delivered. Sorry letting a team go 79 yards and chewing up 10 minutes and then applauding that you stiffened @ the 1 yard line means little.
  19. The defence allowed a game winning 84 yard TD drive. They allowed a 10 minute drive to start the 3rd quarter when momentum was on the Bills side. The allowed a 73 yard TD drive and couldn't tackle on the short 36 ydard TD drive (twice had runner in the backfield). Three qb hits and 2 sacks (the vaunted line only had one of each) is not the defence Bills fans were led to believe they had. This was Jax, not NE. The point is you stop them when you have to. Example is NYG, few penalties, took the lead on a 100 yard kickoff return and then held. One brought up GB allowing 500 yards.... Absolutely right, but when SD was first and goal at the 8, they held.
  20. How aout not one hurry, hit or sack and the bills were home. Tennessee was easily beaten by the Dolphins and while only scoring 13 points vs. the Bills, they moved the ball. The Line & LB's have created very little pressure and sacks. Add that to penalties and bad third down % and you are scratching the surface as to what's wrong with the D
  21. Not a single sack or hit on Dalton and it was a home game. No excuse whatsoever. Philly at hiome controls the Giants and creates pressure. The Bills were okay, took OBJ out of the game, but when they needed a tackle allowed a 51 yard TD. The Giants are okay and not a juggernaut. NE killed us and that happens. The D was not as great as others made them out to be vs. Indy & Mia, but did play well. Mariotta is a damn rookie and played well and moved the ball, and the Bills got 1 sack. When they do have a good game they bak and go on as if they are the best D ever. It is embarassing. They are lost right now.
  22. Yep, been on and off TBD for a long time and often join up again when a major controversy arises or something pushes me to post. Sorry the minutiae of the draft does little for me. I can't and don't get riled up about most signings or many of the secondary and tertiary decisions the team makes. What I do is watch every single game and Sunday I was there and yes Watkins was the focus of almost everyone in our section. We watched him lined up the same spot (outside), the coverges and he was open, with no plays or looks (yes one incompletion) his direction the first 25 minutes. What I also have mentioned over and over is that there seems little motion or interesting offensive alignments. Watch the better offenses and they will look at the defenses and see the coverage on their #1 target. Sammy says he's open 90% of the time and watching the games it appears that way. As for the rest of the offense no screens, swing passes or lining Sammy in the slt (until the TD). BTW the first observations was on how putrid the defense was.
  23. The Defense was terrible. Read Winners & Losers on Grantland and see that the Bills were 24th against the rush and 29th in Defensive Pressure. At home an not a single sack or hit on Dalton Please no comments that Cincy is good. Deplorable D yesterday. Cincy converted third downs easily and were 4 for 4 in the redzone Watkins comes out with his comments and still EJ and Roman called all of one play the first quarter and a half. Heck EJ looked his way only one other time. Every play was the same with no mothion and Watkins lined up outside. The 89 yard drive 4-4 and the only time an interesting formation and a TD pass to Watkins. How after Watkins comments, you come into the game ands again didn't use him for the first 20 minutes defies logic. I posted the exact same thing last year. The Bills offensive scheme is so vanilla and pedestrian that it has no chance to succeed.
  24. I've watched TT (though only 2 and a bit games with Watkins) and you can tell he doesn't look for him. Too many plays it is obvious from the get go that if a passing play it is called for someone else. To me that is the OC's responsibility.
  25. Let's get this right. Sammy has missed 2.5 games. TT didn't look at him vs. Indy, got a few tio him vs. NE & maybe 2 X vs. Miami (one long completion, another completed OB). The last 2 weeks the WR's were MIA and pretty obvious Harvin disappeared as the primary target with Watkins out. Only Clay @ TE a viable target. Watkins is right that TT and the OC barely look at him, while Eli Manning basically looks at OBJ every play (whether he throws it to him or not). This goes back to last year and does get old and I understand Watkins complaints. One other thing that is seldom shown is catchable balls or open targets. To say someone was targeted 8 or 10 times and caught 6, means little if the other 4 were throwaways and uncatchable.
