  1. Yes that was exciting and got you pumped for the Rex Ryan era. And then Indy went 8-8......
  2. Absolutely right an exciting game. Win it 10-7 & go 8-8 in the big picture no thanks. I was at least entertained in that loss. When the end result is mediocrity absolutely. The amount of time watching games like the Tennessee 14-13 stinker or Carolina 9-3 loss is a waste. Answer this one........ Choose one...... 10-7 win week 17 to go 8-8 where nothing happens 35-31 loss week 17 to go 7-9 where it come down to the last drive..... Now extrapolate it the full season knowing the same choices and you have 17 weeks of compelling football and going 7-9 or 17 weeks of boring football to go 8-8..... Sorry I take the 7-9 exciting season every single time.
  3. I'm not talking competitive, close or those few blowouts that were fun to watch. I'm asking about games that had you on the edge of your seat and riveted. 2015 - Jacksonville comeback (eventual loss) KC - But they screwed up and did nothing the second half Philadelphia (maybe) 2016 Seattle Miami This is my issue with the Bills. There are just so many more stinkers then compelling exciting football games. And yes I invest 3-4 each week to watch them......
  4. No I want to see them win. Also am disgusted with myself wasting 3 hours watching a terrible game because I am a fan. New Orleans vs. Buffalo, I'd rather watch NO everytime given the same level of interest. NO 7-9 3 straight seasons, but a ton of fun games. I can't remember the last fun game the Bills played.
  5. 7-9 and exciting with a chance to come back and win games vs. 9-7 and once you're down the game is essentially over and no playoffs...... Much rather be 7-9 and entertained. Sorry 9-3 vs. Carolina was a lousy game. Even that last drive was boring. Time of Possession was 2:1, 125 yards passing...... 2016 - 9X's less then 200 yards passing, 2X's under 100, another 3X's 200-210..... 2015 - 7X's under 200..... Ughhh..... Pathetic
  6. And I disagreed as I felt the offense was not properly suited for him, play calling was lousy and unimaginative. They bring him back and I am interested to see his play with a invigorated offense and what do they do? They trade their best receiver and set TT up to fail and talk about draft picks and not 2017...... I think TT is a competent QB, but not with the tools and players given and that is the big FU the "NEW REGIME" gave the fans. I was at the Jets game and it was boring.
  7. Again missing the context. I'd much rather be entertained and go 7-9 then 9-7 and 14-10 games........ Absolutely right that the Saints are more fun to watch then the Bills and the results are pretty much the exact same. The difference is with Brees & the Saints a 14 point deficit does not mean the game is over. With the Bills it does. I wish I was wrong, but name one comeback in the last 3 years (closest I remember is vs. Jacksonville in London 2015 when EJ was the QB).
  8. Yes I'd rather see 7-9 and an exciting offense that can throw for 300 yards and never out of a game, vs. 9-7 knowing that once down 10-14 the game is over. Yep call me an idiot (though neither team makes the playoffs). Now if the Bills only made the Darby trade, then TT has an above average receiving corp. As it stands now the Bills fans are banking on a defense that we'll see how it responds to their first real challenge.
  9. That has been my comment all along. I think TT is a good qb, who could be very good, but management and OC's have undermined him and basically with the trade of Watkins ensured that. Heck Gaines may have been cut by LA as he was 4th on their depth chart when we got him. Probably could have traded for him with a # of options and he was not someone they were targeting. The Management wanted rid of Watkins and a draft pick for him. So stop using his good play to rationalize the trade. I'm talking Offense in this thread. The expectations for a Bills QB are so low, that 7-8 wins is season to build on. Scoring 20 points is a solid offensive performance. 220 yards passing in a tight game are strong #'s..... As for just win, I'd frankly grow tired and find another team if it was 100% based on defense and little to no offense. Does anyone enjoy a 10-7 defensive struggle more than a 35-31 shootout?
  10. Let's start with wins....... The Bills are not a winning team or organization the last 18 years...... Repeat that and we can go somewhere. The Bills run game is very good, but often padded in those blowouts. When you are down in a game, then it is passing that get's you back in. An 80 yard 10 minute drive when the run game is strong and up 3 (or 7) in the 4th is great. Not so great when down 10 and the clock winding down. Geez 300 yard passers went 6-0 in week 1...... Are you ignoring that? Tom Brady threw for over 300 in the SB and won..... Does that count? Sometimes both QB's throw for 300 in a game and one loses, how do you account for that? How about if they got their team back in the game (tied it up) and lost on the last possession, does that account for anything. Answer this..... Does the threat that a QB can throw for 300 yards a game help or detract from a team?
  11. Thank you.... Someone get's it...... The threat and ability to do it is what matters. Also helps if you're down.
  12. Not a single team you mentioned is a pop gun offense. The Bills passing offense hasn't shown that it isn't....... How far back you going with Dilfer & Grossman..... Yep Payton is a lousy QB that scares no one, nor does Russel Wilson, nor Keapernick the year they made the SB. Guess what they too all threw multiple times for over 300, which the Bills haven't done in Regulation since 2014!!!!!! That was the point. Oh and keep ignoring Matt Ryan, Ben Rothliesberger (sp.?) oh and that Tom Brady fellow in order to make your point......
  13. Check how many 300 yard games those teams threw for...... That was the point of the thread that they all have QB's and offenses capable and the Bills since 2014 haven't once in regulation. Everyone of the teams noted were and are capable of throwing for 300 yards and have game plans to achieve that. Funny how you ignore New England and Flacco who did it 6X's (+1 in the Playoffs) the year they won the superbowl, but you claim were not a dangerous passing team....... Eli did it 9X's in 2011........ What a joke of a post.
  14. Wow 32 not 35...... You got me....... 300 is a arbitrary yardstick used by almost all outlets. Yes 300 is a simple # that the Bills OC and coaches seems anathema to achieve. Nothing would make me happier then to see opening up the offense and airing it out. And as said I don't blame TT. The coaches got rid of his best receiver and have an offense that is incapable (to date) of coming back. I like TT and thought with decent coaching an offensive game plan and playmakers (i.e. Watkins) could be a very good QB.
  15. Which was the 7-9 Bills 2016 Offense. Sure and the Bears 1985 defense and they win the Superbowl.........
  16. I started the thread and support TT. I repeat I am a fan of his and think he is a good QB, who could be great in the proper situation. I put 90% of the blame on the coaching he's received, lousy offensive schemes, bad play calling and a ridiculously conservative offense. Any close game and it is almost always being too conservative and getting in that position. The Bills have played some very good games and then it is a blowout. Tight games they seldom pull out and the fact that they are incapable of passing for 300 yards is a fact. Can someone tell me the last time they came back from 14 down? What I can't stand is it seems they set up this offense to fail and made trades to that end. And yes in the offense 213 yards passing at home is reason to throw a parade!!!!!
  17. Sure down 21-20 vs. Jax they scored on their first fourth quarter possession to win 28-21....... And a 166 yards passing at Home vs. a lousy team Then 14-13 vs. Tennessee 109 yds passing another scintillating offensive show (I do remember the great run he made) Houston was a tie game and another performance for the ages 11-21 211 yds....
  18. This isn't about Tyrod as a QB, because I want to see if he can play the position (and think he can), but the Offensive Coordinators & Management have set him up to fail with lousy play calling and below average receivers. When I say there are 10 games a season where a 300 yard game should/can win you a game, that includes losses. The Bills Defense has played very well the first three games against bad QB's (and Newton who is off and lost his most important receiver before the half against Buffalo). Watkins was a monstrous loss and I am first a fan and ask me whether I want to see a game where you have two offensive minded teams or a defensive battle I'll never take the latter. We are in year 3 of TT as the Bills starter and I have no idea who he is as a QB as the Offensive game plan and lack of passing is just so conservative. What I do know is the Bills have never had a 4th quarter comeback and probably never overcome a 2 TD deficit. Comeback are reliant on PASSING THE FOOTBALL
  19. Because this is the old refrain for TT and the Bills. Wins are all that counts (and don't forget haven't sniffed at the playoffs since 1999) and always an excuse about the offensive woes. The Bills are not Jacksonville or Cleveland and it just is amazing the inability of this team to stumble into a 300 yard passing game. This is the NFL and there are usually at least 10X's during the season you need to throw for 300 yards in order to win a game and this team has an offense that has in the last 2+ years shown they are incapable of doing that. And to those going on about going 4-6 last week (they were by the way 6-0 week one throwing 300 yards), two of those games both QB's threw for 300, Goff threw just under 300 and Hoyer was a 2 point convert from OT, Manning put up 24 points and almost all that passing in the 4th quarter and only TB lost the game decisively. There is not a team in the league worried that Buffalo can come back against them or beat them by passing and that bothers me.
  20. Again the point about 300 is that it is a benchmark that EVERY COMPETENT QB IN THE NFL can throw for....... The Bills are the only team in the NFL that avoids it like the plague. I am a terrible fan to say I am more entertained by a 28-24 game (W) with 300 yards passing then a 13-10 win with 180....... Every year there are going to be 10+ games where you will need the offense and passing attack to win and the Bills refused to address it (actually made it worse). I think TT is handcuffed in this offense and they got rid of their best receiver for the heck of it...... Here is the 2016 300 Yard passers.... http://www.footballdb.com/stats/300-yard-passing.html?yr=2016 Happened 111 Times...... Once by Buffalo......
  21. Not 6-3 if the final result is a 7-9 season.
  22. He doesn't have weapons in needs or OC to date to know one way or another...... I was really excited to see a healthy Watkins and offensive game plan and what it could produce. The coaching/management however thought otherwise and has pissed me to no end.
  23. Again the issue is not TT, it is the decision that the team made to get worse in the short term and hope to hit on draft picks. In particular they took away TT's best receiver from a team that is woeful when it comes to throwing the ball that I blame solely on the OC and game planning. I want to see TT succeed and want to see the offense be successful. The fact that the team and fans seem so excited about 220 yards passing depresses me. I want to see 300 yards, which TT has NEVER DONE IN REGULATION....... I know everyone is excited about the D, but let's see how they perform this weekend and conversely how the Offense reacts. BTW Atlanta does not have a great defense.
  24. DO YOU NOT GET IT????? Every QB I cited can throw for 300 yards anytime and they do. I also think TT is capable of it, but he's never don it in REGULATION. Sorry that I would like to see a 300 yard passing game, but this management of the OC's have him handcuffed (this year and prior). Wow btw he's 26th in passing yards, with 2 games at home and all three in ideal conditions...... Really amazed anyone would question Wilson, Big Ben, Eli, Luck & Ryan....... Throw in Brady and complain about his offensive #'s and that they mean nothing. When the Bills needed 10 points from the offense vs. Carolina, they put up 3.........
  25. Did you see the Dallas game? Plenty of factors involved. How about I point out that Brees has a superbowl ring, Ryan lost in OT, Luck has made the playoffs consistently and among active QB's Eli, Big Ben, Rogers, Wilson, Flacco & some middling player named Tom Brady have all won...... I guess their ability to throw for 300 yards got in the way of SB victories......
