  1. And that is what I have said too over & over. What I disagree with is the coaching. I think McDermott has been lousy in game, the second halves often difficult to watch, Tyrod hasn't been helped, Shady has been tackled more for losses then any RB in the NFL, because teams know the call and some decisions have been out and out wrong. I however certainly think they can beat Jacksonville Sunday, just still want to see more from the coach and front office.
  2. Again I was posting an interesting fact. The tie-breaker that got the Bills in was Strength of Schedule. If I'm correct 4 teams were tied..... 1. Head to head (didn't all play each other so moot). 2. Conference (8-4 Tenn, 7-5 Balt & Buff, 6-6 LAC). 3. SOS (Buffalo was better then the other three all of whom played Cleveland). So yes Cleveland sunk Baltimore & would have too Tenn & LAC.......
  3. Interesting stat is that the Bills had the 12th easiest schedule, but Baltimore, Tennessee and LAC all were easier, and that was the second tie-breaker. A big thank you to Cleveland for being so bad and NYJ for not being as bad......
  4. Geez, which is exactly what I am saying. I do think the team would have been much better as it was constructed in the preseason. I do however applaud the Benjamin trade and trying to improve the offense.
  5. And I do...... Just missing the point as you drink the Koolaid...... I've explained it before and will no longer rehash it. Just not buying the coaching yet........ The good news is I thing Jax is a fraud and hope for a win.
  6. And I agree 100%....... I've been glued to the TV (or at the games) since 1972. Doubt I've missed more then a dozen (travel, trips) over that time, so yes I am a diehard.
  7. And I am a fan....... But I also look at this team without rose-coloured glasses...... I've said it if not a FAN, this team is hard to watch. They are hanging on for dear life almost every win and come the second half they lose almost everytime on halftime adjustments. They should have kicked Miami's butts twice, thoroughly outplayed KC too, yet hung on for dear life. Jauron ball kills me and the inability to throw for 300 (though they seem up for the challenge the first half at times). So you think this team is better the the prior 3 years? I will say they are more disciplined and for a change getting some breaks. Y^es I'm excited, but TBD and the pom pom waving does make me smirk.
  8. And yes the 18 year curse was lifted. The Bills won the tie-breakers and we're in the playoffs with the best possible first round opponent (something I predicted btw). The point is (and I keep repeating) is that this is pretty much the same records as 2014-2016, so quit thinking this coaching staff & HO turned water into wine. What it did do was create such low expectations that some consider it a miracle. What was miraculous was winning 6 games where the opposition had the ball at the end of the game with a chance to win & the Bills winning each and every time. I am as excited as anyone that they are in the playoffs and planning my Sunday, but I am not getting ahead of myself and anointing this coaching staff as an all time great. However I am a fan and don't get stuck on the minutiae wrt to drafts, schemes and philosophy. It is quite simple for us fans. If a team is 8-8 for 3 seasons in a row, you look at it and say 2 more wins and you're in the playoffs. I look at the skill positions and how they are utilized (and yes was pissed at Watkins, the trade and not targeting him enough). I thought better coaching and tweaks to properly utilize Taylor and we'd see a huge improvement. On the defensive side, it did not take much to see that they were undisciplined, took way too many penalties, and disorganized under Rex, which could be fixed easily to the point they would be competent. So as said I will be here and cheering Sunday & hopefully beyond & will leave shortly thereafter while you argue about the draft, personnel moves & free agency. I will return when Sammy signs and when a decision is made on Tyrod. Again would we fans be so excited if they went 8-8, or 8-7-1 (as McDermott tried vs. Indy) and no playoffs. It is the Playoffs that has created this euphoria, not a record that matches those the prior 3 years...... Flame away!!!!!
  9. 9-7 was a good year..... I get it, but enough thinking that this coaching staff walks on water.......
  10. No they haven't. If they decide that Peterman is the stop-gap, and that this 5th rounder is the 2018 starter and don't get a first round blue chipper, and he fails then no way do they get 5 years.
  11. McDermott has definitely done some good things. No arguments there. His game day coaching however has been not so great (and in many cases awful). Again this team was in and around .500 for the past three years. This was only a 4-12 team when you read between the lines as to what the HO & coach said, which was denigrating the prior regime. And again look at the results. Two wins vs. teams with winning records (and both on the road). Wins vs. teams that had 5, 5, 6, 6, 6 & 4 wins...... Granted no games vs. Cleveland. Losses 2XNE, Cin, NO, Car, LAC & NYJ. So end of the year they played 7 games vs. teams over .500 and ended up 2-5. Important thing was that strength of schedule was better then Baltimore's and thus the playoffs...... Again cup half empty or half full......
  12. No Goff has coaches who call the right plays and put him in position to succeed.
  13. Why the dislike for Tyrod? Yet again terrible play calling the second half and every run was telegraphed resulting in in second and long as usual. Dennison is a dumpster fire and tyrod is blamed? Every qb misses throws and watched Brady yesterday miss many (including an easy TD). Cut him some slack. How about the defense allowing a no name to almost win it for Miami.
  14. No it was a ridiculous decision that actually the Bills were very fortunate he was so bad. I watched and McDermott kept trotting him out and it was only after the 5th Int that Tyrod got back in there.... Even afterwards they waited 'til Wednesday to put him back as the starter. I am 100% convinced that just a lousy game vs. LAC and Peterman would have started the rest of the season...... BTW here was the 14 page thread before Miami..... And here ready to have Peterman start 2018......
  15. However there was one to start him vs. Miami that was 100% serious.
  16. Well at least he is on pace the first half, until Dennison shuts it/him down........
  17. How about an OC and coach who do......
  18. Actually there were plenty of posters hoping for a 4-12 season and to trust the process. Many wanted Peterman as the QB earlier and no part of the playoffs, because they had so much confidence in McDermott & McBeane...... Too lazy to find them but they were continual complaints about Tyrod and that he may screw it all up and get the Bills in the playoffs and they were unhappy...... Stating facts and statistical #'s is quote interesting. Pretty sure Peterman agrees with you on that one. The differential was a statistical anomaly and and moreso a reflection of Tyrod holding on to the ball and being conservative on offense.
  19. And I also predicted Buff vs. Jax. So I'm pointing out some thoughts about the coaching and the 2017 season. But yes McDermott is a God and did nothing wrong all season.
  20. You mean like Cutler handing us that last int or Fales in his first game for Miami throwing it expecting the receiver to turn in and he turned out? Get out of here....... I'm a fan but that was just plain old luck....... The Bills refused to bury opponents and somehow got all the breaks the last drives....... Yes Better Lucky than Good.....
  21. How dare you cite stats and #'s. McDermott called all those turnovers and is 100% responsible.
  22. What????? Please tell me what in my response led to this comment? Maybe Fales will sign a big contract thanks to McDermott?
  23. Yes this year it was something else and even the questionable calls seemed to work out.
  24. Every coach figured it out by halftime. Look again at the turtling Buffalo did yesterday. Oh and Peterman threw two good passes in Dennison's scheme. Wow time to hand the reins to your fifth rounder..... A good coach adapts to his talents skill set. Pretty simple I'm.
  25. Read the first line of the thread....... I was pointing out how amazing it was that everything went the Bills way at the end of games (even when they couldn't cover on-side kicks)..... The real point is that I do worry that McDermott thinks this is the key to winning as the Bills never seemed to get that one last score or first down to seal the game, and it came down to 3 picks, a fumble & missed 4th down (where a flag could have been thrown and would have if vs. NE) to win. I hope McDermott learns from this, but yes I doubt it......
