Sean McDermott is the 2nd Best Coach in Bills History

I am happy when the Bills win, I am not necessarily excited and truth be told not necessarily entertained either. Never been bored by a Bills win ever? Agree to disagree..... -

Great sexist response....😡 Am I supposed to cheer and agree with everything Buffalo does? Go through all my posts & you'll see yep I pretty much stay on topic...... Because these are the things that most interest me and bother me. 1. Was very unhappy with the team & their offense 2. Have always supported Allen and just wanted them to give him more reign and see what he could do. 3. Yep throw for 300 yards sometime between 2017-19 4. Thought the trade of Watkins was ridiculous and helped decimate the Offense and liittle attempt to replace him or help the offense. Oh yea the 2016 team went into week 16 with a chance to make the playoffs and screwed up terribly vs. the Dolphins (Tyrod threw for 300 yards that game). 5. Disliked McD's Defense only philosophy & play the game between the 20's, close to the vest.... 6. Thought the tough talk & The Process is so overblown 7. Peterman experiemnt and then doubling down in 2018 showed how little he knew or was interested in the Offense..... Anything I'm missing? -

No one is happy when their team loses, that is a given..... But many of the Dallas losses were exciting fun games. Name me a game the Bills lost during McD's first 3 years thgat was a compelling, exciting game as a Bills fan. Most were boring games imo, with McD's main goal being to keep the score down and the game between the 20's.... -

I never did. I advocated being entertained watching the Bills. A win alone does not mean the game was exciting or fun to watch. Too often 2017-19 Bills games were terrible to watch. Forget the blowout losses. And actually because you keep harping. If you are not making the SB or are knocked out the first playoff game & since I invest 16 weeks watching & cheering for the Bills wanting them to go 16-0, I'd really like to have more games that were more entertaining then the many of the games were. I will continue to use the Pittsburgh game as a shining example of a game Buffalo won, but McD did everything he could wrt the offense to make it a terribly bad game to watch. Can add the 14-7 Tennessee game too (along with other wins the Bills had). I you don't get it, I give up. I am no longer responding to your posts. But keep reiterating this. And you know that how? Conversely he could have been further ahead, more poised & confident and they beat Houston. No one knows. And again EVERY COACH IN THE NFL has had their team throw for 300+ yards every year 2017-19 but McD, who wasn't able to do it once. And not every QB was a HOF'er. -

No, I expect more..... I have said too that I'm turing the corner on McD (but you ignore that), but I'm not that enamoured with many things 2017-19 or the record or the playoff appearances. As for Allen, I will repeat again and compare him to Burrow & Herbert, where I'm sure you'll compare him to Darnold, Mayfield & Rosen (and you maybe right or maybe I am)...... My view always was that they were too conservative with Allen and he could have been brought along quicker, which may have resulted in a different outcome vs. Houston. The fact McD is maybe the olny coach in the last 25 years not to have a QB throw for 300 yards in a game to me is telling. -

Because you & others are so enamoured with McD and the Process you don't realize that the offense stunk for 3 years playing weak schedules and conversley the Defence looked great. What I saw was being blown out a lot of times, terrible offensive execution and playcalling, a pathetic record vs. playoff teams 3-17 and only 5 wins vs. teams over .500 (the other two being an 8-7-1 & and 9-7 record). Oh & 0-2 in playoffs, both which were winnable games. Let's add to that terrible on challenges, third quarter adjustments, giving up leads as well. But let's talk about that 17-10 win vs. Pitt & Thanksgiving vs. Dallas and annoint McD. Marrone was an idiot to leave and Ryan was Ryan, but somehow stumbled and produced the same record. -

And you are right, but as I've pointed out McD 2017-19 25-23, Marrone/Ryan 2014-16 24-24. -

If using Streength of Schedule the Bills are the one's actually benefitting playing NE 2X/yr or thbey'd be weaker. Also NE plays the first place schedule. How so..... Brouught up other coaches & the top 4 are pretty much no doubters right now. McD at 25-23 (now 30-25) without a signature win & a 3-17 record vs. playoff teams is not close & really a silly premise. -

25-23 in the first 3 years and so many have annointed him. This really is a joke (or the expectations so low)? Again last year the Bills played a joke of a schedule. He somehow was able to go through his first three years without his team throwing for 300 yards (yep my preoccupation, but no other team went more then 17 games without accomplishing this simple task and McD's team went 48 games!!!). Offense ranked 30,29 & 24, while playing the 21,27 & 27th Strength of Schedule the past three years..... I'm admittedley much happier with McD this year, but wasn't happy vs. Tenn & KC, and thus the next 3 weeks are important. To put him anywhere near Wade, Marv, Lou or Chuck is a joke. -
You are not allowed to talk about these things with McD as coach, because remember it is a Process. Now being blown out, that's okay, because it happens. To actually blow-out a team, is just not something the Bills do..... Notwithstanding they have won some games by lopsided scores, but that is lost with the Offense (prior to this year) usually being shutdown come the second half.
-
And there hasn't been one, which is the debate here. If you're going to say they arrived beating Duck or Thanksgiving vs. Dallas, who btw went 8-8 going 5-1 in the division & beating Detroit, Miami and LA Rams (but yes two wins vs. 9-7 teams), again that is laughable. Bills only win in 2019 vs. a winning team was vs. Tenn (Mariotta + 4 missed FG). Go Bills (& spank the Pats).......
-
Duck was a disaster...... The Bills basically turtled that game and refused to do anything on offense. They had 269 yards in offense. They were too scared to do anything. Look at the Play by Play and you'll see how sad the Bills were on Offense. https://www.espn.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=401128065 The play at the end of the half and after they took the lead in the 4th they got the ball twice and ran 6 plays (all runs), thus handing the ball back to Pitt. BTW Duck is now on the Steelers practise squad and their 4th QB.... Wow what a statement win that was.
-
No other coach went more then a year without a 300 yard passer 2017-2019, regardless of the QB..... The only constant is McD..... So yes it falls on him. Glad that monkey's off his back. I also said I'm coming around on him, but still not convinced. And yes the Rams may be that win, but his record & performance vs. teams over .500 is not good (many blowouts included). For a team with a 25-23 record under him, that is a glaring hole.
-
So what side are you on?🙄 We played a team with maybe the worst QB in the league (only because he played for the Steelers was he given any press) and needed to pick him off 4 times as we played that game scared to death on offense. It was actually pathetic the playcalling on the Offensive side of the ball. The only thing I remember on Offense that game, was getting the ball with 2 minutes left in the first half and petrified to move the ball and grinding out three runs for a first down and celebratinbg as if they had just scored a TD late in a game to go ahead (all so they wouldn't punt and give Duck another chance before Half!!!!).....
-
And everything the staff has done is good? I didn't start this thread, I only agree with the premise. I said it was a good win & may be, however too am disappointed over McD's tenure the bad games vs. teams with over .500 records that the Bills have had, where they have generally been uncompetitive.

What we are missing? Consistency...

If 5-3, then the Bills are likely in trouble. If ever there was a game they can't afford to lose, it is this week vs. the Pats. -

It was PI (or holding,as the defender too knew it & let go after the throw)....... Oh and then there was the bogus Int, which basically turned the wole game around.....
