  1. Sorry, just think you're flat out wrong on this one. I've seen enough with Matt Cassel, Jimmy G and now a rookie on a short week winning 27-0 against a 2-0 team. Not to mention the amount of times the Pats have won when Brady wasn't on his game or the game plan was geared toward winning with a heavy dose of the run. Sure, Brady has thrown the team on his back before and won the game for them, but that's not to say they wouldn't have won with another QB with a totally different game plan to utilize that players strengths. It actually amazes me that more coaches don't take this approach and is reason #1 for the Bills struggles. Too many times coaches try to fit their players to the scheme instead of fitting the scheme to your players strengths.
  2. Who cares, our football lives are ruined until BB retires
  3. Does everyone still think Brady is a HOF QB if he were with any other team? I think BB and Ernie could take a HS QB and turn him into a star. They are either light years ahead of everyone else in terms of football smarts or really good cheaters (and perhaps a bit lucky).
  4. Great post, been thinking about this and feel Gilislee is a hidden gem. I don't even think it's too much of a stretch to think he could be a better fit than Shady for our style of offense. The guy hits the hole hard and runs north/south. Shady will take a 3-4 yard loss instead of taking the 2-3 yard gain, and our offense isn't built for 2nd/3rd and long. The negative runs are drive killers. Not sure how Shady's contract is structured, but I do know the money we are paying him could be better spent elsewhere.
  5. I'll tell you, in the Ravens game he took zero chances (all safe throws) and missed opportunities for big plays. In the Jets game, he made two big plays (give him full credit) but padded his stats at the end when the Jets were playing soft with the big lead. Stats don't always tell the story. He has regressed. I do think not establishing a running game hurts, but I see plenty of plays to be made and he either throws a bad ball or goes with the wrong read.
  6. Nobody is perfect, but they've had a lot more hits than misses.
  7. Agree with you on this and they would never draft a guy like JP. They look for guys with a high football IQ and more importantly have a very strong drive/work ethic/chip on shoulder etc. They've established a winning culture which makes buying into what they're being coached probably easier than other teams. It's all about the "team" there and it's been established that you'll be gone and easily replaced if you're not willing to do what's best for the team. There are a lot of individual players that care more about their stats, and that's something NE doesn't tolerate.
  8. It's Belichick and Ernie Adams that run things there and both are on a different level than the rest of the league. Yes it's a game of inches, but scheme, analytics, game plans, coaching, and probably some cheating make them who they are. I've said this for years, Brady would not near the player he is if he was on any other team. It's a plug and play system and proven they can just switch guys in and out without missing a beat. Just watch, Garapolo will look like an all pro with the Pats, and if he goes to another team, he won't have near the success. We need BB to retire to have any hope, not Brady. If you read the book Spygate, it's pretty interesting. Not sure I agree with everyone but there are some interesting theories.
  9. Here we go again with Polian riding in on a white horse and fixing everything.
  10. I've always thought Gilmore was a bit overrated. He's good, but not great. He's also injury prone and doesn't come up with many picks. I say let someone else pay him crazy money and move on.
  11. I could see a scenario where Bills win the next three, but only if Garapolo isn't playing. The NFL, especially early in the season is so unpredictable. Anyway, probably won't happen, but you never know!
  12. The same Kizer who's currently 1-2 at Notre Dame? No thanks
  13. They've gone up and down, when the offense is good the D is bad and vice versa. Can never seem to be solid in all three phases.
  14. I think a big part of the chunk yardage had to do with the defense getting worn down because they were on the field 2/3rds of the game
  15. I actually think this could be possible. I always felt Roman was one of the few not in Rex's circle. Sure, he coached with Roman awhile back in Baltimore but that was it. The Pegulas interviewed Roman for the HC job and really liked him, so I'm guessing they pushed Rex a bit to bring him on board.
  16. Blame to go around on this team, starting with the coaches. The biggest dissapointments to me are Tyrod and Roman. I really thought Tyrod had a chance to be a franchise guy, but after two games I think that's highly doubtful. I also hate offensive scheme, with long developing run plays that lose 3-4 yards. The few times we ran a quick hitting run play we got some nice gains.
  17. The whole secondary had a rough night, but we don't really have a pass rush. Jets also have some big talented WR's and Fitz played very well. Overall, just not good enough and we're staring at 17 years now. Blame to go around, including the coaching staff
  18. Anyone know why Spikes is inactive tonight? Thought he could play a big role in a physical game tonight.
  19. ....then they'll have to win their next two.
  20. Ok, so all of last year the offense actually performed pretty well. It wasn't always pretty, but we all felt we had a potential franchise QB. One game into the season, after a pitiful performance, we're ready to write him off? Believe me, I have my concerns as well after how bad he and the entire offense performed. But damn, can we wait at least a few games and see how the season pans out? Didn't we win the first game like the last three years? How did that work out for us? I'd love nothing more than to have this team make the playoffs and shut up all the doubters/Rex haters. I'd be lying to say I didn't have concerns about this team and its coaches, but they've proven they can be good on both sides of the ball. They just need to find a way to make it all come together. If we start 0-4, then perhaps we start talking about some coaching changes.
  21. Yeah totally disagree here, Sammy was healthy for the game and sore after. No excuse at all for not going downfield and attempting more vertical passes. Tyrod and Roman can share equal blame here. Tyrod had opportunities to throw deep and chose not to, and Roman was late getting plays in which ruins the flow of the offense and doesn't allow time for audibles and examining defensive alignment.
  22. Talley, Reed and Thurman would be obvious. But if we're going on what this team needs, might have to kick the tires with Reich. He was a winner
  23. ooops, we made a mistake, we just realized Gronk can't block so let's bring Felton back
  24. They are not an elite team by any stretch. Well coached, decent defense (although Bills made them look all world) and Flacco. No real RB or WR threat, just don't see them doing much better than 8-8 this year.
