Khalil Mack holding out... in Buffalo
Trogdor replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I said seriously address, not throw poorly rated players at it. Harrison isn't proven and most likely will be a rotational early down DT. Murphy has had one good season and a PED suspension with injuries. Edmunds is a huge specimen with a high ceiling, but he is better suited for OLB at this stage. If that's how they are going to "address" holes, then this team is doomed. Harrison might turn out to be a very good DT that replaces Kyle and I think Edmunds will be a stud for years, but that doesn't do anything this year. The Dline isn't any better than last year and the LBs are worse. You clearly aren't following the Bills very closely. Still waiting on those upgrades. The LBs are older and just as slow, the Dline still can't stop the run, and the Stud secondary is still the same studs with no real depth. I agree though that the OL is is worse shape and probably bottom 5 in the league. If they can figure out how to stop the run, the defense might be very good. Maybe holding out doesn't fit the "process"? I'm still trying to figure out the parameters with the addition of the PED suspension players. -

The problem with Hughes is that he is a liability in the run. He loses contain all the time to try and get to the QB, or he takes a dumb penalty after a great play. He is a great piece when mixed with another dominant end, but not by himself. We have such a good secondary going to waste and it's hard to fathom why they didn't seriously address the DT and DE. This is where a great pro personnel guy like Whaley shines. I'm not impressed at all by Beane's moves and he probably needs some help. If Benjamin stays healthy it will be his first positive for me. I'm not sold on the McDermott defense either and its going to need new linebackers to be effective. I would love Mack btw, but I don't think it would solve anything. -
You see Landry off his feet with a shoulder to the helmet at 11 seconds. That view is by far the most damning. I'm not sure if cle23 has an excuse for that one as well.

When did Jags fans become so anti-Bills?
Trogdor replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have you ever felt a lingering despair about games the Bills should've lost? Over the last couple years I'm sure a lot of fans see the Bills on the schedule and pencil it in as a win. Florida is just not a Pro State. Baseball and Football do poorly down there even when the teams do well. -
Why is nobody discussing the offensive line?
Trogdor replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Long completions to who? Our deep threats have a history of underwhelming performance. Lets hope they develop along with his ability to read defenses. This line is horrible and it's probably going to kill the run game, which won't help. I don't argue that he has the higher ceiling, but I'm worried about the rest of the team around him. -

That's going to be an issue. WRs and TEs are going to have to fight for it. I'm not sure there are many options for the offense this year. -

We had multiple blowouts, poor clock management, and the penalty issues are still there. I'm not sure you can just jump straight to well coached. It wasn't the first time they finished 9-7, but it was the weakest year for the AFC. They grabbed two offensive linemen and they were both rated as the worst or bottom tier for their position. Dawkins was the one guy I was sure of and he got pushed around like a little boy last game. The DT they paid to stop the run has graded out poorly against the run since his rookie season and hasn't looked impressive at all. It's not a great situation for a very young basically OLB trying to learn to play MLB in the NFL. There is no depth behind what little talent we have, so it's going to be a rough year. They should hire a therapist just for Incognito and kick the tires on him again. At least Dawkins Incognito and Groy would give Shady one side to run to. -

Peterman excels at quick short timing routes and most of the WRs are slot guys. It might just work for a little while. -
Mahomes vs Allen deep ball

It should end here, but it won't lol. -

Edge rusher doesn't do us much good when teams can just repeatedly run right and get big yardage. That game, preseason or not, looks too much like the other post Dareus games. I miss the Schwartz defense. -
Josh Rosen vs Josh Allen: Game 1 Comparison
Trogdor replied to BuffaloButt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not for nothing, but they did take out their starting DEs before Allen came in. He did look good though. Rosen is just more polished. Damn, what happened to NOs line? The Cardinals are like the worst rated and they just handled them easy. He did complete a strike the first game with a guy holding his legs. His line in college was one of the worst and he still had top tier stats, so I'm not sure this is going to hold true. Darnold to me looks like he will struggle in that situation. -
Shaq isn't going to live up to that first round grade or become the pass rusher he never was, but he is a very serviceable end who can set the edge. That's important when Hughes is just as likely to try to spin inside and lose contain. We gearing up to get gashed by the run again.
-
If your definition of **** show is top rated I guess. He still has things to work out and I don't think those first six games are the time for it. It's all starters out there at that point. Do you think his stats would be the same last night with their DEs still in? I doubt it, and that's not a knock on him. Dawkins looked like he was scared.
-
Quick decision and release. That's basically the only way any of our QBs will survive this year.
-
That's probably going to be the case all season. He is holding the ball a lot longer than the other two.
-
You missed a whole thread basically dedicated to this lol.

I agree that there is a ton of time to develop, but I seriously doubt he ever becomes a big hitter. He did that same thing through college and he is big enough for it to work. I still think we need a Spikes type with him on the field.
-
He is a OLB being forced into the MLB. Pysicality was a big knock against him in college. We really need a thumper like Spikes for that run.
-
Hasn't been good since his rookie season. He was rated really poorly last year.

And so it begins....
