So realistically, who do you want at 9?
Trogdor replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edmunds lacks the instinct and physicality for MLB. He is big and fast, but doesn't shed blocks well and gets fooled by the run a lot. I think he would be better utilized on the outside with his speed. It's like taking a college RB and telling them to play QB at the pro level. Bills need some 1st round talent on both lines. If tackles weren't a need I would say this would work, but unfortunately the whole line needs to be retooled. -
Quenton Nelson - Indy OG ...#6 overall was worth it
Trogdor replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What solid LT is available in FA? We go that route and you end up with Newhouse and Bodine. Bills need to get young and talented on that line, not one year stop gaps. Now is the time to sell out and improve instead of putting it off for another rebuild. -
Daboll hasn't ever coached a good offense. Even for as stacked as it was, Alabama struggled for a big part of his time. Frazier didn't do well in his time in Minnesota and it looks worse with their current success.

Vontaze is more talented probably. I doubt he misses that torpedo attempt lol. Players routinely call out dirty players, so I'm not sure what you mean by NFLPA. He is entitled to the same representation, but not a weak response like Philips gave. I really question the team make up when they respond like that. Good teams don't get the mild response like the Bills do.

This defense is a mirage. They are horrible in the red zone and the terrible job in the field position battle has limited the yards they give up. There were a few games, but they had more bad to mediocre games than good. While that's great about 4th downs, how often do they make conservative 3rd down calls. I feel like they constantly run plays short of the sticks on third. I just don't think we will agree on this lol.

Until his kicker was hurt that is. The end of the first half in Detroit was bad. That should be a quick out or throw it away. It was still in range for a healthy Hauschka and instead ended up being a bomb short of the end zone. He almost always punts. Last game to end a bad season and he finally starts gambling. I think your forgetting the rest of his conservative 2 years here. It's like watching Jauron 2.0 sometimes.

2019 NFL Draft: Bills officially picking 9th
Trogdor replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's basically wondering if they got #9 on purpose or through incompetence. I'm leaning towards the latter. His FA pickups and trades have been awful so far. I think the OL pickings are slim for FA. The list I saw wasn't great. Probably end up adding the previous worst at their positions again. OL needs to be a draft priority. -
End of Season Rank the rookie QB's
Trogdor replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually don't think the Bills were worse than the Cards. Similar struggles at RB, Cards Oline was much worse somehow, and Larry Fitz was hobbled a lot. Neither situation is great for a rookie QB. With Zay and Foster finally showing up and the relatively weak schedule after the halfway point, I think the Bills had an easier time. The schedule actually worries me a bit and I'm hoping team improvement wasn't just a mirage because the Patriots were the only decent team they played after week 9. -
End of Season Rank the rookie QB's
Trogdor replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see a ranking of the offensive lines for these teams. Browns looked ok, Baltimore was solid, Bills were awful, Cards were god awful, and I think maybe the Jets were just ok. Seems to be about how the stats broke down for the QBs. Mayfield looks much better than the rest as far as consistency, but after that it gets harder to separate them with overall team play. -
All Rookies QB's final stats and prorated to 16 games
Trogdor replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You might be building your team wrong if your QB gets sacked 40-50 times. These rookies came into some ***** situations. The completion percentage for Jackson is actually the most shocking to me. His ball placement was god awful in college. He basically feasted on terrible defenses and garbage time against good teams. -
Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
Trogdor replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that's what everyone is looking for. Unlike college, can he make performances like today a regular havit or not. -
no tackle? Easier said than done. Teams don't let their stud Olinemen walk. Most of the successful teams have built their line through the draft, and that means they are going to have to spend 1s and 2s not 5s on linemen. I'm not sold on Teller or Dawkins and they still need depth.

Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
Trogdor replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see any improvement in footwork, which was important for his progression. His decision making is coming along very slowly, but he has yet to stop trying to make the big play over the right play. I'm sure his velocity also makes near catches quite a bit more difficult. That being said, the WR corp is terrible. Even easy catches are missed because they try to catch with their body more often than not. All around it's a cluster. -
Buffalo News: PFF Breaks Down Josh Allen's Accuracy "Issue"
Trogdor replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wasn't a great throw. Could have been caught, but not a sure thing. I think that in and of itself is a narrative that is getting pushed a lot around here. The Bills aren't the worst team for drops either even though that seems to be a favorite talking point around here. It also makes sense that the Bills QB is under a microscope on the Bills message board. I watched the Detroit game and would never say Allen was much better. Dinks and dunks are a legitimate tool that he can't seem to grasp, but don't fault other teams for utilizing them correctly. -

pairs well with the defense that is very poor in the red zone. -
McBeane will build a Wr Core of 2s & 3s.
Trogdor replied to BillsFan1988's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a very good reason he didn't get many reps in college. He needs to learn to use his hands when he catches. Id be interested to see what percentage of WRs develop that skill after College. -
I'll take a shot at the 2019 offense FA's
Trogdor replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that Dawkins needs to move, so that would account in our difference of opinion. That whole line needs new additions if only for depth purposes. -

I can't disagree with this enough. They need OL bad and anything less than a first is an insult to team building. They need at least 1 tackle and 2 guards because Teller hasn't proven anything yet. WR and RB can be acquired later or through FA much easier than a LT. -
EJ Manuel: What went wrong after year 1?
Trogdor replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big game wins. Bowl games, conference championships, and rivalry games are important. You can look back and see many of the great QBs carrying their team to victory in important games. Even for guys on stacked teams there is usually 1 or 2 games a year where they actually have to perform. EJ played on a stacked team, but he shrunk and had terrible games when they needed a QB. Against Florida his senior year he got exposed and threw 3 interceptions. They were basically a decent QB from the National Championship at that point.
