Josh is horrible on long throws all 4 games
Trogdor replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In what world is Brown a WR3? Maybe not a 1, but 2A for sure. Beasley has been very good for us so far and is more than enough at slot. Only maybe Calvin Johnson in his prime saves Allen on a lot of these throws. -
Will offense operate better with Barkley next week?
Trogdor replied to GG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One area that he has a clear advantage on is timing routes. He seems to really thrive off those quick slants. I'm not sure the coaching adapts well though or they would've kept a TE in to help the RT. -
horrible game decisions my Coach McD
Trogdor replied to slipkid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is my biggest problem with McD and most coaches we have had. We lack a game manager who can control the whole team. Hiring a good coordinator only works when they make good hiring choices, and he hasn't. He needs to grow outside of his friends and find someone with new ideas or at least a winning record. -
They gutted the playoff team and we're using that as the measuring stick? They are no better than year one with the Wild Card. This is similar to the Sabres in that they looked better early in the rebuild than what they did coming out of it. This is like a military mindset where progress is valued over continued success. Should we really feel good that they made a team so bad last year that we are now maybe back to the same level as 2 years ago?

Do teams only have to be good at one part of the game? This is the crux of Buffalo over the years. We picked up a good coordinator who gets his side of the football playing well and we are horrible on the other. The offense has to take advantage of the defense for it to matter, and they don't. We probably still make the playoffs with this schedule, but there isn't any large improvement for this team.

I think a lot of it has to do with an over emphasis on weather. Every single time they look for a HC or OC they want a guy who can build a team for bad weather. It's just not something that we gain much of an advantage on. It usually ends up that we are really good on one side of the ball and sub-par on the other. -

Here comes the homer mod to shut down different opinions. Where is this after the wins with the Beane is God threads lol. Seriously though, there were so many things wrong today that one thread isn't going to cover it. -
He is an OLB, but he is getting much better at MLB. It's crazy that he was an OLB in High School and the start of College, but now he is expected to stop teams in the NFL. It's probably the largest learning curve of anyone on the team. I'm a big fan of his and think that he can do it.

The defense is legit, but he didn't take advantage of break downs like he normally does. He also had a lot more trouble with the blitz than we normally see. His ball placement is usually very good, and today it was subpar. Still, this means that we are the same team from the wild card loss. No improvement.

I came here to disagree with you because I thought it was a negative post. Can't agree more, this was a huge improvement from the last couple times against the Pats.

horrible game decisions my Coach McD

Is there any reason that they didn't chip Van Noy? Ford got wrecked all day and you do keep Knox or Sweeney in to block? Forget Lee Smith and his inability to track the snap count. -
I was gonna say something similar. I'm not sure about on the sideline, but the other ones were too under thrown and gave the DB too much of an advantage. It's much easier to move in on a catch than reverse direction to compete.

They just proved that they can't take advantage of one of the worst games for Brady. This is peak Jags game where we couldn't score. They have maybe a Bengals ceiling right now.

Gameday Thread Bills vs Pats* 2nd Half
Trogdor replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Getting hit and that causing an int is not the same thing as continually throwing bad passes. Allen is bad, and he cost then this game. -

How do they not have help for Ford. He is so bad. -

Nobody wants a Wild Card team that doesn't score a TD. They are supposed to be better than that. -

Do you remember our last playoff game? We're still that same team. -

At least the Whaley guys are balling out. Best safety combo since Clark Polamalu. -
Is Jason Peters the greatest Eagle of all time?
Trogdor replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peters' averages about a sack a game and im not sure how great that is. I never thought he was that great honestly, but I might be biased by the exit. Bell the next year after he left was very good too. I'd still take a healthy Cordy. -
Does anyone miss Zach Brown? Nigel Bradham?

More like an ok wife and an ex that let you experiment. Fantasizing is how Bills fans survive lol. -

Blocking is so underrated in a WR. Why we didn't do more screens to Watkins with Woods blocking is beyond me. His yards and tds will never show how valuable he is. -
Has anyone outside of Beane ever said that he could be a good RT?

Maiorana's Report: Realism or Pessimism?
Trogdor replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One of the biggest problems with Edmunds is probably his time at MLB. He was an OLB in High School and to start college, so he really has no time at a position that takes a lot of work. It's no surprise that he has trouble recognizing plays. I just wonder how many years that are willing to give him for development. -
Maiorana's Report: Realism or Pessimism?

Edmunds and Ford are in the same boat for me. Both of them are great football players in the wrong position. I don't think it's a surprise that many in the draft had Edmunds at OLB and Ford at RG. I'm not sure if it's just trying to justify their draft slot, but that's where they end up when this testing is over IMO. I'm still a big fan of Edmunds though and he can be a force at OLB. I'm not even sure that he is running the defense like some people believe. The safeties seem to come up and make changes pres-nap, but I don't see Edmunds moving guys around that often. Before I get flamed, I still really like Edmunds lol keep that in mind. -
His pass charts showed his strength was intermediate passes in the middle of the field last year. The Beasley pick up and drafting of two TEs was the best thing they could've done to really play off of that. Sometimes the long ball is necessary though to keep a defense honest, and he hasn't been close or has thrown right into coverage so far this year. Overall though I agree with you, just trying to clarify.
