  1. I feel like this gets glossed over way too much, thank you. Also, I take it that this only tracks lost fumbles? Equally concerning with the run style of play.
  2. Daboll was doing his best Brian Kelly impersonation before the hit too.
  3. He is in charge of offense and special teams too. We probably have a better chance at the end if he had better time out and clock management. They need a head coach, not just a coordinator.
  4. Definitely dirty. It's long past time to institute a Rugby wrap rule. He is lucky he didn't injure himself by putting his head on the wrong side.
  5. I definitely exaggerated and I appreciate being called on it. There just seems to be an overwhelming push to absolve him here. There is even a group who thinks BB took a hit out on Allen because he was somehow worried about him. When Tyrod looked like this there wasn't nearly as many conspiracy theories, or maybe there were and I don't remember.
  6. The sacks have been just as bad. He ruined field position a couple times by taking sacks after back peddling for a while. It was something like 35 yards lost just off of sacks. Is there time to turn things around? Absolutely, but this whole board is in apologist mode. He looked bad all on his own enough that it's not just team struggles. He has 5 fumbles 6 interceptions and he needs to clean that up.
  7. Mahomes was a far superior QB in college. He isn't a finished product either, but he still looks miles ahead at this point. Allen, while more talented, was the third best QB in his conference at Wyoming. Ironically they also had a top defense and struggled.
  8. A big difference is that he never looks good against quality opponents. He was just as bad with consistency for 3/4 of the Jets game until Mosely got hurt. The end of last year to the start of this year was a cupcake schedule, and I'm still waiting for that win over a good team. Missing blitzers presnap is his fault, a missed block isn't, but he is bad presnap. They need to find a way to help him in that area. They have to keep a TE in to help Ford if they put him at RT or do something to help.
  9. He definitely lowers his head and more runs into the defenders helmet, but I think the defender intended to hit him high anyway. He never lowered his pad level and that added with Allen going down was bad. I'm not full tin foil like a lot of people right now because I see DBs do this all the time. Look at the hits on WRs after a missed pass and you will see very similar style hits. DBs generally have the worst tackling technique of any position group. I don't know that anyone fears JA enough to do "sweep the leg" move, especially in this game where he was a turnover machine.
  10. "This is a playoff team that nobody is going to want to play" is the same thing people said for that wild card game. Im not saying the defense was anything short of great, but that doesn't make a whole team. They have horrible special teams and a sub-par at best offense. Add in the fact that Allen can't stop fumbling and throwing into double coverage, and that's not a very good team. Coaching is terrible too with little to no adjustments, terrible clock management, and questionable challenges. We watched the same game, I'm just not going to claim a victory from a loss like a lot of posters want. This is a recipe for becoming the next Bengals organization.
  11. I'll agree with him at 2, but 3 was overkill lol.
  12. In what world is Brown a WR3? Maybe not a 1, but 2A for sure. Beasley has been very good for us so far and is more than enough at slot. Only maybe Calvin Johnson in his prime saves Allen on a lot of these throws.
  13. One area that he has a clear advantage on is timing routes. He seems to really thrive off those quick slants. I'm not sure the coaching adapts well though or they would've kept a TE in to help the RT.
  14. This is my biggest problem with McD and most coaches we have had. We lack a game manager who can control the whole team. Hiring a good coordinator only works when they make good hiring choices, and he hasn't. He needs to grow outside of his friends and find someone with new ideas or at least a winning record.
  15. They gutted the playoff team and we're using that as the measuring stick? They are no better than year one with the Wild Card. This is similar to the Sabres in that they looked better early in the rebuild than what they did coming out of it. This is like a military mindset where progress is valued over continued success. Should we really feel good that they made a team so bad last year that we are now maybe back to the same level as 2 years ago?
  16. Do teams only have to be good at one part of the game? This is the crux of Buffalo over the years. We picked up a good coordinator who gets his side of the football playing well and we are horrible on the other. The offense has to take advantage of the defense for it to matter, and they don't. We probably still make the playoffs with this schedule, but there isn't any large improvement for this team.
  17. I think a lot of it has to do with an over emphasis on weather. Every single time they look for a HC or OC they want a guy who can build a team for bad weather. It's just not something that we gain much of an advantage on. It usually ends up that we are really good on one side of the ball and sub-par on the other.
  18. Here comes the homer mod to shut down different opinions. Where is this after the wins with the Beane is God threads lol. Seriously though, there were so many things wrong today that one thread isn't going to cover it.
  19. He is an OLB, but he is getting much better at MLB. It's crazy that he was an OLB in High School and the start of College, but now he is expected to stop teams in the NFL. It's probably the largest learning curve of anyone on the team. I'm a big fan of his and think that he can do it.
  20. The defense is legit, but he didn't take advantage of break downs like he normally does. He also had a lot more trouble with the blitz than we normally see. His ball placement is usually very good, and today it was subpar. Still, this means that we are the same team from the wild card loss. No improvement.
  21. I came here to disagree with you because I thought it was a negative post. Can't agree more, this was a huge improvement from the last couple times against the Pats.
  22. Is there any reason that they didn't chip Van Noy? Ford got wrecked all day and you do keep Knox or Sweeney in to block? Forget Lee Smith and his inability to track the snap count.
  23. I was gonna say something similar. I'm not sure about on the sideline, but the other ones were too under thrown and gave the DB too much of an advantage. It's much easier to move in on a catch than reverse direction to compete.
  24. They just proved that they can't take advantage of one of the worst games for Brady. This is peak Jags game where we couldn't score. They have maybe a Bengals ceiling right now.
