BROCK PURDY: for real or fools gold ?
Thrivefourfive replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
His legs. He gets out of pocket trouble and finds an outlet, and even my god, finds WRs in the corner of the the endzone with accuracy. He threw some bad location balls in the first half and Seattle really had a chance to pick a FEW… but they didn’t. He’s not a Brees pocket passer, and his small frame will get him hurt in the scramble game. He’s listed at 220, combine 212, and 4.84 40yd. He looks light. He might be faster with the ball in his hands than on a dash — he’s quick, seems to think quickly. But I think he doesn’t last. SF’s history of QB controversies over the past DECADE continues.. that’s my take -
Bills/Dolphins Wild Card pre-game thread

He scares me less than Thompson. To this day, I have no idea how Bridgewater ever become a thing in this league, going back to his completely mediocre rookie season where he was hailed as an up and coming superstar.. -

This is back to Game 1 intensity against Rams. Chiefs game intensity. This is it. We’ll see a totally different team out there than the lackadaisical defensive secondary and pass rush. It’s time to go and everyone knows it. Josh Allen has been pretty damn good in the playoffs for two years going and I look for him, and the run game to destroy the Dolphins. Game Time -
SF doesn’t want to play Seattle, a team that knows them. I could see an upset Giants over Minnesota Bucs over Boys Buf over Tua-less Dolphins Cincy over Baltimore regardless of LJ Clippers over Jags
-
They should not play Tua. He should be silently inactivated for the rest of the year. If the team somehow beats Buffalo, then the pressure builds, and Miami might have to play him unless the organization steps up and takes the keys from the driver. But sitting him and starting fresh and healthy next season would be the way to handle this.

It’s like the Bills defenders are social distancing. On the cautious side. -

What is Matt Jones — he he a statue, a refrigerator, capably mobile? I really don’t know. Trying to figure out why 49 couldn’t tackle him. -

I am concerned about Allen not taking the easy stuff when the longer stuff doesn’t work. I don’t say that lightly, because one of the things I love about 17 is that he pushes the ball down the field. After 20 years of Bills QBs not having anything close to resembling a vert passing attack, I’ll always root for driving it down field. But there needs to be more happy medium. 41 was wide open on the endzone incompletion to 10. -

Before next weeks round 1, please install sensors under every field to recognize foot pressure.. no more skimming long or short turf blades to determine TDs. NFL, listening? Get ‘er done -

This isn’t Cincinnati, yet the Patriots WRs are shown the respect of Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, and ol’ Kippy Kipperson. -
NFL Resolution to Adjust the AFC Playoffs- Poll
Thrivefourfive replied to Rocky Landing's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not too sharp, but based on that chart doesn’t KC stand the most to lose? They have a greater chance at the 1 seed (which they’d mathematically own) and an equal chance, with the Bills, at hosting the AFC title game. So the league is favoring KC’s 1, and giving love to the Bills if they get to the tile game. All along I said KC can have the 1, but the AFCCG should be in Buffalo (if they win Sunday). -

There’s something I want to say about this. The Bengals were no more guaranteed to win Monday than the Bills would’ve been, at that point in the game. Sure they looked good throwing the ball to start the game. But Buffalo should have scored a TD not a FG, and the game could have, and probably would have been, a blazing shoot out, with Buffalo having a better run game of late. The Bills have losses by 2, 3, and 3 points. No way the Bengals were on their way to blowing Buffalo off the field Monday Night, which seems to be a line of thinking that’s crept into some people’s logic about what’s fair and not fair for the Bengals. A turnover here or there.. anything can happen. The Bills don’t lie down and die. Just want to point that out. -

Why not just wait until things shake out Sunday night. The Chiefs and Bengals are far from a lock to win this week (Bills are of course 😚) -

What ifff… Chiefs 14-3, Bills 13-3, Bengals 12-4 KC gets the bye as the 1 seed, but Buffalo Hosts the AFCCG because they kicked their ass earlier in the year, and are gonna kick their asses again in late Jan. How bout that? -
Revisiting the Tre White to Safety thread
Thrivefourfive replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Got no argument from me there. The Bengals SCARE me if Burrow is just gonna stand back there like it’s LSU vs whoever that year. I’ll go back and look (no I won’t), but I believe the ball Higgins caught was on Tre, and then Higgins runs like a deer, and that’s when I’m like… they’re just picking on #27. I could be wrong though on that. Not really motivated to go back and review the play. If Chase can do whatever he wants, and Higgins is a definite size and speed mismatch, well something’s gotta be done about that by the smart football coaches at OBD. -
Can some of you more “wise” members here recall the situation with the Sabres goalie in the late 80s? The stories told down my family tree is that the Sabres trainer was a Vietnam War Med vet, and because of his experience with trauma situations in the war, he stuck his fingers in Malarchuk’s neck and pinched the artery and saved his life. Not trying to veer the thread : just recognize the small company who simply save Buffalo players lives over the years.

Revisiting the Tre White to Safety thread
Thrivefourfive replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely hear ya. Never saw him as a freak inception ball hawk though.. if I remember he missed bringing in balls that other dudes make. Would he have been a great, or as great, a safety as he was a corner back in 2021 — sure. Now though? I’m afraid he’s bad as both. And there isn’t time for patience now. The Bengals were not looking too afraid of Tre on Monday. They were eating him for five whole minutes. Chiefs and Bengals. Mahomes and Burrow.. that’s gonna be a problem right now.
