Don’t worry, this guy keeps McDermott up at night.

I know.. so dramatic. But here’s a completely useless take, with no proof or science to back it up. Since WE KNOW the coaching staff has relied on Josh more than they should, have we ever considered that the players do exactly the same thing? JA17 is such an athletic freak, I suggest that the offensive line is constantly in a state of confusion when pass blocking. And the receivers are timid. Example, when Gabe Davis isn’t making one of the greatest long ball catches of all time vs the Steelers 2022, he looks practically afraid to catch the football from Allen. I’m seriously hoping Sherfield, Hardy, Shorter.. ‘take it to the opponent’ and don’t just run routes to catch the ball and drop to the turf. So sick of the lack of RAC over the past.. 20 years. I just have this illusion of the Bills receivers thinking Look ma, I caught the ball from Josh Allen, and they don’t really want to play football after that catch. The OLine blocks like ***** for Allen. Why? They are too into Josh Allen’s game, than their own. Is Josh going to throw it quick? Is Josh going to run around? Is Josh going to throw it 70 yards? Is Josh going run me over on his way to running over the guy I’m supposed to be blocking. JA17 isn’t an easy guy to play with for OLine. I get that. The offense looked its best in 2020 when things were scripted and timed and executed. The OLine room has to dig deep and figure this out, because the moment Josh pulls a Josh, they get my sidetracked and confused on what just happened. Allen is an animal. I think he needs to sort out some things. He’s like Michael Jordan in 1988 who went ballistic. Then Jordan was convinced to play some team ball, and it was game over. Allen needs that switch flipped. His athletic ability is awe-inspiring, but the boy needs to realize toning it down some is better for the ten other teammates on the field. Is isn’t optional. He NEEDS to do this. King McD. I see what McDermott is doing here. He’s making every defensive guy accountable to one entity: HIM. That’s his move. He is absolutely cemented as King1B in Buffalo. This is not going to be a thing too much longer.. he’ll get HIS guy to call the plays soon, probably next year, but this is an all-in move to put up or shut up for his players. He will get rid of players that don’t respond to this, either physically, emotionally, mentally, whatever. He’s not a nice guy. He won’t let guys hang around. The Bills don’t keep players that they don’t think improve the field product. I think this is a problem because I don’t think it will work. Just my 50/50 opinion. Of course I’ll be rooting like hell for McDermott to have his statue erected OUTSIDE the entrance to the new stadium for winning the Super Bowl as OC and DC. But it’s a tall task on him personally. However, he has no other distractions to deal with, like being a loser, or not having a contract, or bickering with management/ownership. So he is primed career wise to do something like this. After all, he wouldn’t do anything this stupid if it were stupid. All of this should be an interesting season. Oh, Kincaid is a difference maker. He plays football just fine. And Poyer is toast. An injury or a collection of, will sideline him. It would’ve been wise to fully commit to Benford as a free safety all off season, if they think he can play that position.

You know what Dawkins is suffering from? Genetics. He’s a huge man, and doesn’t seem to have the natural freak physical attributes that the better huge men offensive lineman have—Big and fat, but quick and never tired. He’s a guy that would easily weigh 450lbs if he didn’t have a physically active job. I’m sure covid doesn’t help a body type like Dawkins.

Belichick on the hot seat in N.E.
Thrivefourfive replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mac Jones is being used by Belichick to get himself back in the good graces of Kraft. BB sabotaged his second year starter with a defensive coordinator’s offense, and Jones acted up, showing he’s a malcontent. Now BB brings in super duper best friend O’Brien to drive Jones right off the team. Belichick gets a fresh start with another QB next season. Onward and upward. -
What a blow. The mid 2000s playoff game endings were absolutely all timers. Sabres found ways to win when games seemed over. RIP

I wouldn’t expect 20 targets for Diggs, but in his head.. he’s got a different mind set that we would have. “Die trying” is what Diggs thinks against CIN. When you lose that badly, and the best offense player player on the team not named JA17 is even involved.. again this is Diggs’s mindset, imo. I didn’t know Diggs plays so few snaps. Great, that’s another problem for this offense! ☺️ The loud and clear part is the correlation between Diggs losing it after Cincinnati and all the draft and free agent thought that went into fixing it. I’m not saying the front office did all that because of Diggs’s blowup, just that they did do it, for the Rigby reasons, and I bet it all made Diggs very happy. i don’t remember if Diggs said anything about not grabbing Gabe Davis’s stat line in the KC playoff loss in 2021? But since his team lost, there is probably a small part of he’s disappointment coming out after Cincinnati as well.

Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?

Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
Thrivefourfive replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
So pissed I wanted to start a thread. Kyle Allen is sorry. If this turns out to be a reason that holds this team back, it’s all right there in front of us week 1 of pre season. To the OP, hell no.. Barkley is not an NFL QB. He’s a locker room, QB room guy. He’d get killed if he played any meaning regular season minutes. Back to Allen,, if HE has to takeover, he’ll eventually make game crushing mistakes. It’s in his DNA. What pisses me off is that great rosters have won Super Bowls (with a little bit of luck) with backup quarterbacks — Allen is not that guy. I hope time WON’T tell! -
It’s the game script. The play rhythms and rhymes. There needs to be a complete offensive drive play sheet, and then a connection of drive calls that fit together. I mean.. these OCs around the league.. they are not calling a play on 3rd and 5, in an isolated way. They’re calling that play with all the other game plays in mind. Just watch Carolina’s play calls with Bryce Young out there. Everything Reich designs and calls is for a reason. Young’s time in that game went about as well as it could possibly go. He got his feet wet, made the right decisions, and most importantly got hit. Now he has a clock in his head on those plays. I expect that he’ll push the ball more down the field next game, but again, won’t run. He won’t run in the pre season. I bring up Reich and Young because they are very smart, and know exactly what they’re doing. This is the sort of thing Dorsey and Allen better be doing. It’s all got to be part of the plan. Not… *****, we haven’t gone deep in a while, let’s try that!

Cooks in a tradition RB role was cool. The defense is pretty deep. They have a lot of backups that could be starters elsewhere.

Is the MLB Competition Over Before It Started?
Thrivefourfive replied to JackKemp's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s the Luke Kuechly position if you’re Luke Kuechly — a complete freak. Not every Ravens MLB was going to be #51 reincarnated. It’s not hard for a good coach to make the adjustment.. Oh, we don’t have Luke Kuechly so I guess I won’t expect Luke Kuechly madness on the field. I think McD can figure that out. Man,, can you imagine if an idiot coach fielded a defense with Luke Kuechly in mind, but didn’t have Luke Kuechly. What level would that coach be at.. Frosh? Lower? Luke Kuechly. -
Josh Allen: Assistant Offensive Coordinator?
Thrivefourfive replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
This just tells me they’re loose. I hope not too loose. -
I’m back! I’m guessing the red dot is JJ. I agree with you—that communication on this thing sucked. I also think Diggs’s outlandish behavior at the end of the final game of the year was building and building not only within him because of how he feels he was used, but with all the crap that his team had to go through all damn season. I can’t believe he didn’t blow his stack sooner, actually. He an emotional player.. and that was about as an emotional season any team in any sport has ever had barring a plane crash. I hear you. All great points, and I appreciate your posts. I think diva is too strong a word for Diggs. Divas obliterate locker rooms and seasons, and then ship off. We’ll see how Diggs ends his time in Buffalo, I’m sure we both hope it’s not a disaster zone. To me, and to Diggs obviously, a phase out is based on what the player is expected to do for his team in the biggest games. We’re talking 20 targets and 15 catches type of expectations in a home playoff game with JA17. God knows they weren’t going to run the ball effectively. And the catching core was weak as hell outside of Diggs. With the Bengals loss, Diggs blew up. Whatever happened there didn’t keep the Bills from competing to their best at the end of the season or playoffs. Just need to see all the off season additions to the passing game.. that’s not because of Diggs’s ineffectiveness, for sure. It’s because the org hears Diggs loud and clear. I’m just defending Diggs on this one. Why,, I don’t even know. In a bubble, he blew up, but in my profession you better have an idea on who is capable of doing that, and figure out how to make sure it doesn’t happen on your watch. Allen and staff weren’t blindsided by Diggs’s actions, but they didn’t seem to know what to do before/during/after either. Just to get back in #14’s head at the time, who was more emotional than he when Hamlin went down in Cincy? I just think he really wanted to win that playoff game, and he’s a dawg.. the last thing he wanted to experience that afternoon was getting a beat down by a punk ass team like them. He was over it. I’d ride with Diggs any day if I’m a Bill.
-
Ya know. I don’t know how this isn’t the easiest thing to understand for everyone. Diggs was pissed that he was phased out at the end of the year and playoffs. And the team played like ass. If Allen and staff handled it the right way, I’m sure he’d have gotten over it without further drama. But they didn’t. They let him sit in *****, and didn’t come out and overly explain their understandings of his frustration. Diggs was right, and they treated him like he was being a diva. He wasn’t.

RB$ circling the wagons for fellow RBs
Thrivefourfive replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
All it took was one loose, far-sighted owner to drop the ball and pay one. What ended up happening wasn’t good. Elliott declined, as excepted, and is living out a pretty typical RB league career as one of the best of the decade. He’s done — but probably ended up getting paid for his three excellent years, two good ones, and some others. However, nobody wants to see their player get paid and then rapidly decline. Just leaves a bad taste. So all the RBs wanting their bag can thank Elliott for showing GMs and owners that it’s a bad decision for the team. -
This is the kind of women that could settle JA17 right on down

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
Thrivefourfive replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hopkins and Diggs.. somehow we’d have the only 1/2 punch in the league that can’t get one YAC I’m glad he’s in TENN. of course he came to the AFC, who doesn’t.., but Tennessee isn’t anywhere close to competing at the top level right now. -
Good Breakdown on Bills, KC, and Cinci moving forward
Thrivefourfive replied to newcam2012's topic in The Stadium Wall
The next top position in NFL front offices will be McDraft McMaster. This person will be head of scouting and actually making the draft picks. The McGM will work the money, and McHC will lead the men in battle on the field. -
Do we want JA17 watching this or not?? Part of me says yes, learned more about your enemy (without being in complete awe of him). Or, screw it, do your own thing.. you’re a creative genius and you’ll chart your own course. I’m not sure…???
