I’m sorry, but the play design and calls and execution looked like high school stuff to me. Two tights right, one quick out, one 10yd out, against one/one zone on that side was a pathetic spot to look and actually throw the ball to. Then on the third pick of the game, they run the exact same patterns with Davis on the 10y out, but since he’s a receiver the Jets have safety help so it’s a short/medium/medium-deep attacker zone, and ***** Allen throws it again. Stretch hand-off dives up the 1 and 2 gaps absolutely sucked too and wreaked of high school. The three plays on the OT possession spelled it all out. Uncreative, passive, lacking clear objectives and purpose, and the lack of execution (if that was even possible). The offense sucked tonight. I saw nothing that made me think — Wow! That’s was some talent! It was beyond basic, and embarrassing for Dorsey and Allen …… f*cking those two idiots….. I don’t know what to think. Tweetle Dee and Tweedle Dumb, clearly. Jets have an above avg defense, which the Bills O made look like a top five in the league defense. That should never ever happen if you have a great offense, as the Bills should have.

I posted he was toast in the Pittsburgh pre season game thread. He’s toast. A question that the staff needs to answer is how long do you allow him to be a liability out on the field. He’s a vet, so he knows how to wiggle his way to the ball on running plays. He can tackle when he’s got a runner wrapped. He’s also balls to the wall tough, so he’ll get in the middle of some plays. But as far as being a suitable starting safety thoroughbred race horse for a championship contender, NO. That ship sailed.

If you’re in Pasadena Jon, Southern California HS football is ten hands full. Warm beautiful summer Friday night games.. right down to freezing games in November for the playoffs. Awesome, unforgettable stuff. Those Florida, southern, and Texas teams can pop on tv, but nothing is as deep as Southern California. Whichever top team is in Georgia, we have four or five of those, and one is actually public. I still go to a couple games a year, 30 years after my time in the east San Gabriel Valley. I get it. It’s in our DNA to doom and gloom when there’s nothing really tangible going on. But just last year, after the KC game, the Bills were clear media favorites to win the Super Bowl. That team is still here, and is actually better across the board except for one middle linebacker. This team is fine. If the players pull any loser crap and make sorry excuses I’ll be disappointed. Their whole careers have come to this point of being on a Super Bowl contender. Let the fans be scared of their own shadows. Please not the players.

The offense should click better than ever and that will become the norm for a five-seven year window. It’s the defensive that needs to constantly reinvent itself and hit when it counts in the playoffs. Right now, I’m worried that the defense is just kind of ordinarily good. I’m not sure how anyone thinks differently about Mahomes. He’s by far the best quarterback. It’s just that way. Pretty indisputable at this point.

Man, Taylor is thee prototypical runningback. He has everything. I think his injury setbacks will not project as a career definer. He really is the perfect back in the NFL. If you can meet the price, he can absolutely help take a team to the Super Bowl as a difference maker.

Paying to watch NFL games on a TV that you already own and on channels that you already have nothing but greed. It’s like each game is a pay-per-view event, so insanely gross we don’t even realize it. Pirate, then break this thing up.. and the owners can deal with a little less square footage at their fourth winter home. Tech pirating will always stay ahead of the curve, gov regulations. Oh they’re going to be sliding over A LOT. Problem is Brown will still be on the field when they do.. sucking at blocking the little men that get all up in his grill on snap. I need to go back and watch, but I have it in my head that Brown looks worst when the defensive guy gets right up in his chin strap initially and then uses his hands and feet to disorient the massive giant until it’s time to go right by him and pursue the ball.

The narrative came after the success in that first season as HC! Funny to think now, but McDermott was just another hire in a long line of hires for the Bills. Rex Ryan got people thinking Bills again, and McDermott was a pretty big step backwards from that excitement. I buy this move to HC/DC as a “culture” thing. That mysterious thing that just means “We care about being good people who play football. Look at us - We try!” It can’t be an X&Os thing. He’s been out of that game for so long, he can’t believe that his brilliant play calling is the missing link. So yes, I think it’s a power move to keep accountability, and it may or may not work, but it reinforces his dominance inside and outside the building. It’s like the rich not paying taxes,, once you get to that level you just play money ping pong with like-walleted individuals <— and when there’s no one else to play with, you play with your toys alone.

To mean I don’t like McDermott as much as you @Augie, I’m just stating that given the choice between his winning the Super Bowl as DC and not, I’m doubting it. My money is on - he won’t. Whatever that betting line is, I’m going against. I’ve got McDermott’s back as our HC. In fact, McDermott deserves even more credit than he’s been given. There are very VERY few GMs in the league that would hire over McD. He’s that successful. After 20 years of pain, McDermott has control over the division and wins 10+ every year. Be crazy to even think about dissing him at this money in time. Let alone the fact that you can’t,, because he is going NOWHERE unless HE decides to. I hear you on Davis. That catch was awesome. I love when receivers get their hand out above them and catch in stride. Looks cool. But I do think he still looks slow. We’ll see. Hope he busts out (again?), but I think the other pass catchers have more potential to wreak havoc on defenses. The OLine seriously need to figure something out. Like big boys do. It’s them and Allen, and it ain’t working. This play is too poor, and for this caliber a team, it’s unacceptable. Yes on Williams! I want to see more.
