We evaluate teams based on what they’ve done the last month, basically. Agreed? The Bills are awful at screens.

The Rams kill with the WR screen. Used to be Cooper Kupp, now it’s Nuka. They catch it, see a hole, and sprint. It’s smart, the defense is either standing still, running towards you, or getting blocked immediately. Here’s the Bills problem: they can’t even catch these passes. We have no idea if they work yet. However, they also don’t set up WR and RB screens very well at all. I mean how predictable it it when we see Diggs or Harty immediately looking for the ball. Everyone watching sees the simpleton play before it even happens.

Johnston was, especially with injuries to Williams and Allen. But that was the knock in the draft - not ready yet. Watson needs to improve on being an all around receiver, like winning jump balls. But man does he flash. The Packers are LOADED at receiver HAHA cracks me up because when Rodgers was there the receiver room was always a question mark. AJ and DK do it with less than great passer talent. Imagine them with guys like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Stroud. Is that what Elam is supposed to be? 🤭

So the Chargers can’t let him out of the building, correct?? Have they already met the Rooney Rule requirements? Their entire franchise’s future is in the building today and the only way the Chargers should allow out of LA is with a contract.

They separate when the ball is near with their catch radius. Christian Watson is big and fast. Quinton Johnson will be this way. AJ Brown, Metcalf.

While I totally agree about their fear of the weather, right now they won’t get over a hump because they can’t beat good teams. The Cowboys signed sealed and delivered their only win verses a good team. The Jets and Patriots getting better doesn’t really hurt the Bills yet.. we split with them this season.. it’s the Dolphins that will be hurt by a more competitive division. It’s a very strange thing. West coast and southern teams just look so out of place in the Northeast playoff games. Last year, the 49ers crumbled in Philly. Some teams usually look awful in cold games, like the Saints in their road games in the Brees era. In the 1980s, I think San Francisco won a road playoff game in Chicago, I think in 1988(?), but in their Washington, Giants games they looked so out of place. Montana was a PA, South Bend guy who played freezing ass home games at Candlestick, but when it’s 0, he looked like an old man in a cabin. I would never ever ever expect Miami to be able to handle the elements. There’s just too just fun stuff for this guys to get into in Miami South Beach. They’ll always expect champagne service.

Just dawned on me. Stroud’s performance was better than Jordan Love’s against the Cowgirls. The only thing Stroud had going for him was home field. Yet here on GMF you’d think Love is the only quarterback who played this weekend. Love was great, but Stroud just became the youngest QB playoff winner,, against the NFL’s so called best defense,, with a rookie head coach, losing his best WR, having nowhere near an Aaron Jones, and leading a franchise coming off an all timer type bad season. Love is already like 38 years old, so I’d take Stroud in a heartbeat.

Our NFC counterpart has fallen and can’t get up. In embarrassing fashion, the owner over there is none too happy about it. The ‘Boys garner the most national sports talk coverage….with their Star, and that receiver who’s really really really good. They have a pretty good offensive line too. Nice back. A better rookie tight end than ours. But they always seem to hate the idea of their quarterback. Their coaches have been soft and dopey. That defense was supposed to be a frightful sight, but we just kind of rolled them down a hill, and Green Bay shoved them off the Cliffs of Moher. Dallas, you were up there in the conversation of being a legit title contender, and then you got blewwwn out in the first round of the playoffs by THE 7 SEED, @ home. Don’t know what to make of you now, but I still hate you since 1992, and go have a pleasant off season and good luck next year!
