This is what I was banking on. I wanted to work out how this Bills team is the best of this era. If they can beat KC, then yes.. they’re better than the 2021 team. It’s all right there in front of them for the taking.

Im a little concerned vs Mahomes.

His timeouts on seemingly every 3&7 with 4:45 left in the fourth, with the Bills up by one score really bothers me. The timeouts on that -draw them off sides- garage pisses me off to no end. I disagree because it seems McDermott calls these timeouts on defense as if the game is over if the Bills get a stop. Situationally, the opponent usually has 3 timeouts of their own, to get the ball back with plenty of time to take the lead, leaving the Bills with time but fewer timeouts. And I hate that. Strategically, it bothers me because why isn’t his defense ready to initiate contact..? I want the Bills to be the team to CAUSE THE OTHER GUYS TO CALL A TIMEOUT. Don’t want to dwell on this,, it just proves to me that McDermott is conservative and coaches scared. Here’s the incredible kicker (sorry, that’s a bad word right now), there’s confusion on defense after the timeout!!! Dorian Williams comes running off the field last second and Dane Jackson is doing jumping jacks because he’s not sure of something. This was in the most important play of the game to that point! Dane luckily didn’t get called for raping on Pickens like he should have. Like, what in the hell are the Bills doing sometimes??? Let’s never forget: McTimeout calls a McTimeout to ice kickers and then his team has 12 men on the field. Can’t stand ya.

Elam is still lost out there. A opponent not throwing his way is a major fail on any offense. I watched him on a play where Pittsburgh runs a left WR on a skinny post route, and runs another guy to the left flat. Elam turns around and chases the deep guy even though the safety is all over that WR, and Rudolph is NEVER GOING TO MAKE THAT THROW. So the ball goes to the flat, Elam spins around and can’t make the tackle in space. His pick came in close quarters with nothing else for Elam to do but defend it. However. He looked super athletic turning around that quickly AND catching the ball. Give him that. He's no first round pick. This was a bad bad draft pick.

What about if a defender is out of bounds touching a teammate who’s inbounds touching the inbounds ball runner? New draft strategy: draft ten more Groots, hold hands across the field and dominate. The “we are the world” formation.

Fitzpatrick is one of the most physical players in the league. Man, he loves to hit. Diggs can be stupid or smart about what to do when Fitzpatrick has his hands on him. I’m glad he’s smart.

Shout out another “elite” HC like Mike Tomlin

All this contract talk and is Tomlin worth giving a lifetime deal to.., I just can’t believe he was dealt another WR1 head case. -

Looks like a young AFL Ralph Wilson to me. -
You know what sucks about these threads, this has been going on for over a decade. Now, all the sudden, we have threads on how illegal an illegal hit is on a sliding QB and that fake slide nonsense.

Injuries vs Steelers - Update from McDermott
Thrivefourfive replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wonder how well Allen can punt. Big, high, beautiful punts isn’t really necessary every time. Put Allen back there and go with the ol’ Run/Pass\Punt-Option. Works every time. -
As long as there are NFL regular season games in September, some quarterbacks will reach mega deals. It’s wild. Winning playoff games isn’t even close to a criterion.

Zerovoltz loses bet and pays the bill

The bet is obviously cancelled. Jordan Love fake slid week 6 at practice during the bye week. Disqualified! -
It is NOT time to do that! It’s time to show your cards and win a Super Bowl!!! Let’s leave cutting SD14 to the big boys upstairs AFTER the season. Respectfully, because I feel your frustration and know exactly what play you’re referring to, when Diggs leaves Buffalo he definitely deserves our respect, collectively. I don’t even think that’s a controversial thing to say at all. Yes, he’s got some strong personality traits, and I’m not speaking for anyone, but I think he’s done right by us. I’d veer to say, he comes to my mind when I think about leadership of this team over the past five years.

No, I think you’ve got it. This is California.

Harlan is awesome. I like Ian Eagle. The real gem is over there doing silly college games — Thee Gus Johnson.

I didn’t know that about Johnston. If that catch radius isn’t there then he’s just another Mike Williams, do you think? I would downgrade Herbert if that’s the case. In fact, Herbert is going to lose everything very quickly here, and his OLine still stinks.

Wildcard round - Steelers Bills post game thread
Thrivefourfive replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Remember on the first blown call.. we get back from commercial greedland and Romo is explaining why it’s a fumble. But that wasn’t the call! The call was an incomplete pass. So if you’re explaining that IT’S DEFINITELY A FUMBLE, then it’s definitely a completed pass. I won’t say the refs were awful. I’m glad they didn’t go crazy with the whistle. But those too reviewed calls were so terrible. Always side on keeping the play alive, then allow for reviews. The refs did the complete opposite in both instances. And that’s little league stuff. -

Have to say, an ounce of my heart muscle was at a loss for faith when Bernard went down, then, air cast and cart, and he’s reaction. Told wife, He’s the Allen of the defense. I probably just wanted to justify my heart hurting. -

We’re on the same page with that. There should be a congressional hearing to squash the BS. ….Right after Congress convinces our kicker to kick the ball higher than the prerequisite ten feet off the ground. -

The Eagles defense doesn’t want to play tonight. But I can’t hate on the quarterback. I like him a lot. He’s an over achiever, and I think his persona and message is getting bulllied out of the locker room by big ego veterans. Wow… beautiful throw by Hurts. Right on time -

NFL Quarterback Honors..Bias

You’re absolutely right. I’m surprised Allen wasn’t more of a positive topic of conversation in the media this season. Dak had a career year. The thing is JA17 has everyone’s career year every year. Nothing is flashy and gonna be talked about in Buffalo unless there are trophies. I mean, the proverbial window already closed remember. That was a crazy storyline. -

Boomer Esiason feels the same way. To a finer point, the refs should be very clear when they call something out of bounds — what part of the body was out of bounds and what part of the body touched the ball. And that’s what they should check on in the replay. The whole process should be completely transparent. We should hear those conversations. Can’t think of one reason why we shouldn’t.. -

They’ll have to shoot our TB43 to keep him off that field next week. He’d play with Barbaro’s leg if he has to. -
Wildcard round - Steelers Bills post game thread

I hate how the Bills always seem to find a way to make it dramatic. The game should’ve been over in the first half. In the 2nd quarter they kept throwing it to the runningback or receive behind the line of scrimmage. They got wonderful field position at the their own 45, and went three and out and lost yardage. Kicked it and then Bernard got hurt. Then they CANNOT EXECUTE a 49 yard field goal and the whole thing was fueled to go up in flames. I just want to say one more thing about the terrible field goal unit. Bass will kick a 55 yarder half way up the net. He needs to be counted on to make that 49 yarder. It’s in his range, and you just have to put him in a position to succeed. It was the right call. But there also has to be consequences for botching it. I don’t know what that is, but this unit has to be made to understand that you won’t hesitate to call on them whenever and wherever. Until Bass starts missing them short but perfectly straight, all this is in his head. So Bass, I promise you, you’ll never miss a 49 yarder short. Just kick the damn ball up into the air!
