We held Carolina to 9 points and McDermott is the problem?
Hilarious.
He's the head coach. He's responsible for the offense, defense and personnel decisions. So if the offense is crippled for whatever reason, he's accountable.
-
TT is what he always was...a poor mans Michael Vick.
Yep, and as soon as the coaching staff realizes that the better off the team will be.
-
It's going to be hard to tank with the defense playing like it is.
-
You sound butthurt...
Watkins was a bust, should have never made that draft trade for him, was pissed when they did, and it turned out worse than I thought it would.
McBeane is not why the Bills suck, far from it..
Right, Watkins scoring TDs and winning games for the Bills really sucked.
There are a lot of people out here who are "butthurt" about Taylor. It dominates the board. But Taylor didn't have to be here this year. The front office had several outs to give the vocal Taylor critics what they wanted. McBeane chose keep him and play him.
It's obvious that Taylor has hit his ceiling in the NFL, so why did McBeane make the decisions they did? I think it's a valid question and discussion. If these guys are tearing down and rebuilding, the decisions they make should be fair game for discussion for Bills fans.

I guess if you're that worried you could take a break from the Bills.
What are you, my life coach?
-
McDermott coached his butt off and our team played great. Can't believe people are shocked we couldn't move the ball against that D in their house. We are a work in progress, but full of promise.
We're the 2nd oldest team in the league. We shouldn't be a work in progress. Clock management isn't the only worrisome thing about the new coach or GM.
-
That play is more the QB's fault that Jones', it would have been a great catch, poor ball placement by Taylor, a better QB and that is a TD.
That play is McBeane's fault. They could have dumped Tyrod and they could have set up the Bills WR corp so that it wasn't relying on a rookie to win a close road game.
Taylor is out there because they want him out there. Zay Jones is starting because they dumped the starting WRs from last season.
-
What I can't believe is that there are people on this board STILL defending Tyrod after a game like that. All he had to do was throw that last ball towards the pylon and that game was over and even though he played like **** all game, he could've been the hero. But that last pass was the epitome of Tyrod's career. He can ONLY hit a receiver that's standing still and wide open. That's not gonna cut it. It's Peterman time.
Look, everyone knows who Taylor is. The fans knew it. The new genius head coach knew it. The GM-in-waiting knew it. The soon-to-be OC knew it. So what did the genius coach do in the draft? Did he draft a QB? No, he punted to next year. When it came time to make a decision on Taylor's contract, did the GM cut ties? No, he doubled-down on Taylor. When it came time to build the team around Taylor, did they bring back the receivers that he build a rapport with last season? No, they let Woods walk and they traded Watkins.
So knowing that Taylor is a running QB will little accuracy outside of the deep ball, the Bills brain trust dumped his best down-field threats and brought in an OC who has nailed him inside the pocket.
There are no so-called Taylor supporters on this board. There are people defend him because they realize that when Taylor's in there, the entire team has to step it up to make plays. And when they don't, the person to blame isn't necessarily Taylor, it's the geniuses who put Taylor in there and set him up to fail.
If you're looking for someone to blame, don't blame the so-called Taylor supporters. Taylor is not out there because of supporters. He's out there because of McBeane. Unfortunately, McBeane doesn't appear to realize how to be successful with Taylor on the field.

The best defense in the NFL would have closed the door in the 4th quarter. With the game on the line, Carolina went on an 8 minute drive. The best defense in the league would have stepped on their throat in the 4th.
Not to say that they aren't a good defense, or a great defense, but they're not the best defense.

Now thats a new excuse. Any 3 year Starting NFL QB makes that throw
Really? Newton played in the Super Bowl and he missed a bunch of easier throws today.
-
The ball hit him in BOTH hands. Throw was off, but this is how this team is built to win, and they didn't.
2nd oldest team in the league. PASSED on drafting a QB in the first round. Traded their only deep threat. Dumped all the young talent at RB.
Wins aren't easy with the way this team is built. Guys have to make every play to win. A ball hits you in the hands, you gotta catch it, because chances to win games will be far and few between.
-
Our #1 receiver had his first catch 40 minutes in.
Our #1 receiver is playing in Los Angeles.
-
No where, but the anti TT crowd need to continue the narrative that there are so many people supporting him around here that they are the oppressed minority around here so they can make themselves feel smarter knowing he isn't good. They also take anyone not putting 150% of the blame in this game on him as being undying supporters of TT
TT sucks badly today, but so does Jordan Mills and others on this offence
Bills fan violence on Bills fan is the favorite distraction while the team stumbles and bumbles its way through another season.
-
i cant blame this on the coaching staff anymore.
its up to the dudes on the field to make the plays
tyrod cant, and hasnt been able to do it consistently for a long time now.
Everybody in the league knows Taylor can't play from the pocket. IF you're going to start him, the entire offense better be based on a run/pass option scheme. Expecting him to play from the pocket is wasting everybody's time.
And this is entirely on the coaches.
-
next year they begin Working the Offense.
and the Defense.
this is a meet and great year. kinda
Just what we need during this 17 year playoff drought; a strategic pause.

Jim Kelly's and Marv Levy's HOF speeches.

The Indy game was here. First win wearing blue jerseys at home opener for a new head coach?
Levy's debut win was also at home. ESPN has fired so many people that they've become fake news.
-
With 21-12 win vs Jets, Sean McDermott becomes first Bills coach in the SB era to win team debut (debuting coaches had been 0-10 in SB era).
As stated above, Rex won his debut against the Colts. Levy also won his debut against the Steelers. It was a mid-season win, but he still won it.

Holdouts have been around for decades. GMs shouldn't take the job if they can figure out how to handle them. In this case, the best player on the team isn't in the lineup opening day. It's on the GM to figure this out. The Bills had several players who held out during the Super Bowl years. Polian used to loudly complain about it, but he got the players signed and on the field.
-
Defense showed great character on that drive.
-
Can we stop, for the love of god, running right?
-
This team is going to be bad for many, many years.
-
Half time adjustment that must be made: RUN LEFT. Stop running behind the weakest part of the team.
-
How?
Seriously? Clay doesn't have the hands to be the #1 target on this team. Holmes is not a reliable deep threat. The WRs caught 2? passes this half. The Jets are teeing off on the run, and don't respect the pass.
