  1. So you're talking about a Marcel Dareus, Mike William's, or Sammy Watkins type of talent? ?
  2. I honestly hope you're right.
  3. According to the genius Bills GMs who made those picks, I guess they were. Anyway, those picks were justified as BPA. As for elite pass rushers, if you replace Hughes with a JJ Watt who is in his prime, how many more wins do the Bills have this season with their current offense. How many more years do the Bills have to tank before they add talent to the offense? Anyway, it looks like Hughes is staying, and the defense will likely finish top 10 while the offense falls to 32nd. It'll be interesting to see how Beane decides to build a modern NFL offense next season.
  4. Right, basically the same scheme Fisher was running.?
  5. Said Donahoe when he drafted Willis McGahee or Buddy Nix when he drafted CJ Spiller.
  6. Yeah, the assumption is that they have the QB, but that remains to be seen. Unfortunately, this draft looks like a EJ-like pool of candidates. The Bills really blew the '17 draft. It's going to set them back years.
  7. The Bills also had a massive need at DE that season. It's not like they had a top 10 defense and a historically bad offense, and decided to draft Smith. The last two drafts they needed a CB and LB and did pretty good addressing those specific needs. Do the same in the next draft at OL and WR in the first, and they can turn things around quickly.
  8. No, you trade down and take a WR and a RT.
  9. So a team that can barely score one touchdown every three games is setting itself up to draft a DE in the first round. Great!
  10. Not to mention that this trade would blow another freaking hole in the roster where there isn't one now.
  11. Yeah, and they fired his defensive-minded head coach and replaced him with an innovative offensive coordinator.
  12. Shady is still quick, but he is no longer fast. He can cut and make a guy miss, but he has no acceleration out of the cut, and gets taken down by the guy he beat. He killed the running game the first half.
  13. He lives in Buffalo, right? They said he has 5 kids. Don't think he'd want to leave them, but who knows. If Beane and McDermott are tanking, then it's a giant FU to Kyle, who came back one more year. And if they're doing that to Kyle, then screw them both.
  14. If it was an advertisement, it wasn't much of one. Can't think of a team watching those guys play tonight thinking 'I need me some of that.'
  15. Nothing. Fans who claim they are tanking mistake the NFL for the NHL or NBA where there is a huge dropoff after the top few guys in the 1st round. There is no huge dropoff in the NFL if you don't have a Bruce Smith at the top of the draft. No team tanks the year AFTER they draft their franchise QB. This is pure incompetence. This front office believed that Nate Peterman is a NFL starting QB. They believed that Benjamin was a #1 receiver. They believed that Zay Jones was worth trading up for. They don't believe in speed at the skill positions. In the 2018 NFL where offensive records are being set around the league, the Bills are run by a staff whose offensive philosophy is stuck in the 1960s.
  16. He played well tonight, but he still gets no separation. The front office has no concept of how speed is a part of modern NFL offenses.
  17. Tanking for the top pick when you're not targeting a QB is just a giant FU to the fans who continue to pay top dollar to watch total incompetence. Seriously, how will the #1 pick in the draft help this pathetic offense. It's like trying to fix a sink hole with an tube of toothpaste.
  18. That's not even the discussion we're having here. No doubt any rookie QB playing under a prehistoric defensive-minded coach would look better playing under Reid. The argument is that young QBs learn best playing, not sitting and watching.
  19. Right, if you disregard his natural talent and football acumen and make a giant leap in the logic of cause and effect. Mahomes, like Watson, would have been fine as a first year starter. Who knows, the Chiefs might have made the Super Bowl if they started him instead of Smith last season.
  20. Okay, I'm seeing them Wednesday, so I'll tell him them. Mahomes would have been fine starting last season. The guy can handle the football and can make more than one read, he didn't learn that running the scout team and watching the all-22. He's a true franchise QB.
  21. You probably watch several NFL games every weekend. Does it make you a better NFL QB? Watching didn't help EJ, or Cardale Jones, or Peterman for that matter. Players learn by playing. Edmunds plays the most demanding position on defense. Nobody made him sit and learn.
  22. How about the Bills aren't being blown out so badly by half time that are more than 20 people left in the stands for Thurman's ceremony. Oh, and nobody dies at the game. Be safe and have fun Bills fans!
  23. Watching the all-22, Daboll is calling some solid plays. Problem is with execution. It's still way early, but right now a much bigger concern than Daboll is that the Bills drafted a QB who can't even make the simplest NFL reads.
  24. And, like with Goff, they fired their defensive-minded head coach and replaced him with an offensive innovator.
  25. Andy Reid is having a great year also. Most NFL OCs are just calling plays; Reid is running a scheme. The Chiefs might die early again in the playoffs, but Reid is currently at the top of the game. Give Reid credit for going after Mahomes. Mahomes is definitely more that a cog in the system, so far he's a big upgrade over Alex Smith.
