  1. I couldn't find the rule on the google engine... but couldn't we have declined the cardinal Offside portion of the offsetting penalty call yesterday? That way we would have just taken the 'already first down' with a 10-yard penalty to still make it a 1st in 10? I swear I've seen Belichick do this before.
  2. Does the casual fan underestimate the added difficulty of running a play action adds to the quarterback? Essentially you turn your back to the field of play, and have about ~30% less time to see things and make the throw. Allen is in year 3, and the play action is obviously not only decided to be used because our run game strikes fear into our opponents... I look at it as another development aspect that Allen continues to grow.
  3. This salary argument is flawed for two reasons.. 1- Brady 2- The salary cap continues to increase year over year... so it's foolish to look at it like this. If you're truly worried, you do what KC did with the Mahommes contract.
  4. This was totally surprising... and smells like BS to me. That was a coach making a lame excuse for his team's continued failure on defense. I have no idea what the purpose of lying about this was, but it's suspicious for sure.
  5. Not a football guy here.. but if two offensive players are leading the way, doesn't someone have to just occupy them? Did he do his job in this play allowing the interior defense to come in to make the play? I guess maybe holding your ground a little bit would be preferred but that was a lot of mass coming at him.
  6. Agreed 100%. I didn't mean for it seem like I was pinning it on Allen, I think it's unreasonable to rely on any qb in the league to play a perfect game every sunday. This is the result of our pitiful run-D as you said.
  7. Patriots played 7 defensive backs all game... don't get fooled that the Bills all of the sudden have a great rushing attack, we took what NE gave us on Sunday.
  8. I agree, that's why I think it's a good blue print unfortunately. Patriots aren't a great team and we could have easily lost. But I've mentioned this in previous posts, the Bills did what NE did to us for the past 20 years.. we let the other team 'lose' the game and didn't lose it ourselves.
  9. This might be the worst take I've ever seen on a football team🤣
  10. The blueprint to beat the Bills is run the ball and force Josh Allen to play a perfect game. It's a very good game plan if you don't make mistakes (Newton fumble)
  11. You do realize that opposing defensive game plans and the rest of the team somewhat influence a quarterback's statistics, right..?
  12. The Bills used the blitz during moments of panic during the PATs.. I was losing my mind when on the few obvious passing downs that were presented, we blitzed instead of dropping into coverage against a very shaky passer, Newton. So agreed, whoever is calling the defensive plays.. does not get it.
  13. The Bills took a page out of NEs book.. which is when you're not playing a great team, if you just do your job, then 9 times out of 10 the other team will eventually hand you the game. And fortunately enough, the drop by Davis in the end zone wasn't the play that flipped this script back into NEs favor.
  14. If they win this game, the division takes a huge leap in win probability. It's a pretty big game IMO
  15. Except... Bellichick wanted Brady gone 3 years ago. Instead, he now has a washed up Cam Newton at the helm, and a team that for the past several years outperformed from having Brady, that resulted in lower draft picks than what most teams would have been granted.... TO me this now proves that Belichick was RIGHT in wanting to move on from Brady sooner. This is the fallout from Craft stepping in forcing the Garrapolo trade. IMO you can't take this year sample size (also currently only 6 games), to conclude anything. Belichick has a 2-3 year rebuild on his hands at this point.
  16. Totally.. because the Bucs and Pats have the exact same roster, you can now make a definitive claim... hopefully the OP can now sleep well with this debate settled.
  17. Couldn't agree more that the lack of run game is problematic... BUT there is a silver lining. The division is essentially ours. If we just keep showing up, we have an easy road to make the playoffs assuming Allen stays healthy. (Notice the drop off in designed qb runs lately?) SO Keep Allen healthy during the regular season, and then unleash him in the playoffs.. thus transforming the run game back into a top rushing attack in the NFL. THAT'S IT. Unfortunately for us fans, the offense won't be breaking any regular season records, and Allen isn't going to throw 30TDs this season... we're essentially watching an analytic navigation of the regular season, that will allow for the greatest post season opportunity.
  18. Can you elaborate? I'm not familiar with what this means but am interested.
  19. No win this week is going to provide any super bowl confidence. It's the Jets. The Bills have work to do in order to get to being a playoff contender (meaning has a chance to make a playoff run). It's going to take several weeks and possibly the entire season to get there. They need to do the following... -Shore up the Run D -Start running the ball -Figure out how to get a pass rush going, at minimum in game-critical situations.
  20. Agreed, totally should have gone for 2 in this game. Essentially kicking the PAT last night was an equivalent decision as going for 2 with no time left while the PAT could have tied the score. This was more aggressive to kick the PAT, and go for the win with 2-touchdowns.
  21. Had the Bills somehow put up 30 points, the Chiefs would have scored 40+... Don't kid yourself. I will say, the D looked like they finally came alive during the 4th quarter. They looked like they were playing hard.
