Surprised not hearing more Bills restructures/cuts
Niagara Dude replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just look at the play makers the Chargers now have on defensive side of the ball. That KC game was ours if we had a defence that could make some plays and get off the field just like Cincy's D did the following week. As much as I like Allen, it's asking too much of him to expect scoring on all possessions to win games. Our defensive stats were more because Frazier was playing soft zones with both safeties way back and not allowing the big play. How many long time consuming drives did our defence give up last season. That side of the ball just does not have any play makers and sorry but Milano is not some star play making LB when it comes to big games. Very disappointing if he does nothing, this would be like the trade deadline where you have some fans thinking were so good we don't need anything. I just don't see us getting anyone in the draft that is going to make a huge difference on defence in their first season -

I think this works if your team is loaded with elite talent on both sides of the ball, but beyond Allen/Diggs on offence and White who is returning from an ACL we don't have any elite players to wash/rinse and repeat. I think Davis/Knox could get there and maybe Rousseau own defence but it's hard to win a chip without having big time play makers and then hopeful you find one in the draft drafting so low. The good news is Allen is a stud, but he still needs talent around him to win -

You could make an argument that he overpaid Milano but no way are the Bills letting him go. That makes no cap sense, Milano is a good but not great player who I said last season was worth 6-8 million tops. Those who think he is worth more show me all the big plays he makes in big games against good QB'S. Right now I could see them cutting ties through a trade with Edmunds who will be making 12 mil and expect and extension paying him even more. That would be a huge cap mistake. -

Maybe Beane is going to do nothing and all these rumours of Bills looking sign various players turn out to be a nothing burger. If that is true it would be a huge mistake because Bills do not have enough talent/play makers on defensive side of the ball. -
They cannot just admit they screwed up not drafting Allen over Baker Mayfield who is a bust at this point for a #1 overall pick when you compare him to Allen. They went with the hype, so did national media and sponsors who awarded Baker with endless off the field endorsements. Allen is the real deal stud QB and now they trying everything possible to make Baker their bust #1 overall pick look good. How many star receivers have they traded for now?

Yes I saw later the part of no guarantee money

The county would own the stadium, the narrative of Billionaire owners accepting tax money is the reason why we heard the Bills will make big splash money move to offset any public criticism. In order to make a splash move the Bills need to restructure current contracts and offer signing bonuses that gets spread over the length of the extension and lowers cap number.

Yuck! could someone explain why we are bringing this guy back?
-
Last thing the Bills need to do is waste another pick in their top 3-4 on a RB, this guy would not push Singletary and most likely plays special teams. I told never to stay away from Cody Ford and not buy the hype on him and Bills went ahead passed a superstar Metcalf who has world class speed for Cody who may not even be on this team this season. There was to many very fast 4.3-4.4 guys in this draft and that is what this team needs to add this offseason to the RB position.
-
Unless 5th round and up this would be a terrible pick because of all the available top speed RB's in this draft. This would be another wasted pick, no thanks plenty of 4.4-4.3 guys in this draft. I don't care about his quickness and making guys miss, this NFL and you need to either run over or run by guys.

Bills don’t need a number 2 receiver
Niagara Dude replied to BuffBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall
These are the same guys saying we don't need any trades at the deadline. I love Davis and he played great against KC but that was after KC lost their best DB and then started doubling Diggs. Davis is good but he also had games where he could not create separation , so yes we do need another top receiver or a 2d/3rd guy who can stretch the defence. -
This could be a player Beane signs on a 2-3 year deal and then trades out Edmunds. That gives him time to draft another LB and not have to worry about extending Edmunds this offseason to huge contract. All depends what they think of Edmunds and do they want to invest a big contract into a player who has been good but not great so far in his career. Edmunds is still young enough to get to another level and maybe in another system used differently he reaches his true potential. There are some coaches and GM'S that love his size speed ratio.
-
Let's wait and see how much Klein signs for, seems like many fans on this site liked him and and never saw the attraction or skill level to justify his salary this team.
-
Edmunds was a first round draft pick, those numbers are set.
-
If was really good then they would not have cut him, end of story
-
I agree Murphy who I said from the beginning was trash by far the worse, I got killed by some on this site for saying Murphy was a bust signing and he was.
-
Then those teams are not very good because you need to make sure you spend your money wisely with salary cap
-
Beane's not well at all signing free agents, I think Beasley is one of few
-
When? guarantee no one signs anywhere near that type of money because he is mediocre and you don't pay mediocre players that type of dough
-
Great decision to cut him, another one Beane's long list of poor free agents signings where he paid too much for so little production. Not surprised to see hims sign for league min our out of league because he is a mediocre LB. I am sure some experts will laugh but you watch what he signs for, no team paying him what the Bills gave him and those kind of signings were a big reason why defence lacked any playmakers beyond White.
-
I still don't believe any HC should lose his job just seasons after beating Brady & the Pats in a Super Bowl.
-
You know why?. because staying competitive every season means staying employed. Look at Philly, their former HC Peterson wins a Super Bowl and then gets fired a few seasons later.
-
For this to happen the Bills need to clear some contracts out, you have Milano/Poyer/Edmunds/Hyde making around 44 mllion in cap space. It may also require trading Star's contract out to another team to eat and that could cost us a draft pick . Splash move require cap space,

Rumor- Harrison Phillips not coming back
Niagara Dude replied to wiseman3's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not surprised at all, he is a mediocre player who wants big bucks and then Bills want to upgrade the position. Our defence is already filled with players who are not great and making too much money. Other then White we have no play makers on that side of the balll and yet everyone wants to get paid 10 million plus a season
