Bengals are in a far better situation right now then we are, Burrow has far better younger surrounding talent. Bills are older and maybe have a 1-2 year window before they will need to rebuild. Poyer/Hyde/Miller/Dawkins/Morse/Diggs are all about 30 or older and no one knows if White will ever get back to the level he was before getting hurt. My biggest concern right now is Beane missing on so many picks and the Bills not restocking the shelves we great young talent. Look at all the first or second year players the Chiefs had last season that contributed to their title, that was a reset year and they won the Super Bowl. Outside of Diggs the Bills have too many older players making big money that are no longer elite difference makers. Either you draft well or it catches up and when was the last time the Bills made a trade that brought back a regular contributor or starter on defence/offence?

How much longer will the window be open?

Excellent post, Beane is living off of Allen because outside of Diggs the roster has no other elite talent. Beanie needs to get this team younger, too many older guys making big money that are not stars. -

Not if they don't get him better surrounding talent and continue to expect him to carry the team both passing and running the football. -
WGR speculating the Bills will make a trade

This is what is separating the Bills with the Chiefs right now, they are hitting on picks and Beane is missing bad on picks. Kaiir Elam, Basham/Ford are just a few bad high round picks that Beane has blown. There is still time for Elam but trading Basham to the Giants for a chance at swapping lower round pick is another bust return. At this point I would just prefer Beanne use a second rounder & 3rd rounder for Taylor. You get a 24 year old star RB that you can offer an extension that does not kick in until next season. We really need to start adding young talent around Allen. You cannot just continue to have guys in their 30's making huge money and then missing on picks. Very good possibility that Diggs gets moved next offseason is he continues to make noise. Allen/Kincaid/Taylor is a very solid young triplet pairing Something tells me Sean who loves high character guys choose AJ over Boogie, for me AJ is a bust and only still on the team because he was picked high. AJ is just not consistent enough. -
Elam now CB4 and playing kickoff coverage in the preseason

Exactly.... the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last season because they hit on so many picks. That is just not happening with the Bills -

Still early but unless things change this could be another bust top pick from Beane, I really thought this kid had elite talent skills -
Bills Signing OL Garrett McGhin (who)
Niagara Dude replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
13 secs and then the Bengals playoff game, you keep making excuses ands referencing regular seasons. Let's focus on playoffs and he cannot win in the real season -
I think the Bills will never win with McDermott and Beane, they get credit for turning things around but that is because of Josh Allen who is a HOF type of QB.I think it was a huge mistake for Pegula to give them both extensions.

McDermott is a narcissist, thinks he can think everything himself. It's the biggest reason why the Bills never hired a DC cordinator which is going to be another huge mistake and getting quality depth at offensive line will be another huge mistake. McDermott finds character guys and thinks he can transform them into great players if they have good character. How many average talent players are on this team because they're good character guys, you cannot think like this. Maybe Peters does not fit the good character mold -
Well that was an absolute crap fest - PostGame thread

Easy to dismiss this as only the preseason but the fact remain that all other teams in our division added more talent and got better. Losing Edmunds and not having a solid replacement may be a huge mistake. While scoring points and having a great offence is important, if you cannot get stops then you put so much more pressure on your offence to be perfect. The Bills need to keep their eyes on other teams that have a surplus at LB because right now that position is a big concern. While Edmunds was not perfect, his size alone create problems for teams trying to attacking the middle of the field. Combined with Milano's sideline to sideline run defence they were a great combination . Sorry but AJ Kline is not an option, just look at what happened after he left the Bills last season. Could not stick on a team, I think the offence will hold serve from last season but the defence could take a step back. -
One big bright spot from the game - Kincaid
Niagara Dude replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is good because we need new young blood on the offensive line -
We need Bernard to at least be average
Niagara Dude replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only a preseason game, but if things go bad this season Beane is going to be on the hot seat. We essentially have one starting level LB on this team and the rest are useless -
Just sports, it's great we're contending and finally have an elite player at the most important position on the field. Some fans have higher expectations and losing to the Bengals at home the way we did was a serious let down after one of the biggest late game meltdowns jobs in NFL playoff history 13 secs. The AFC east is no longer a guarantee, the Dolphins and Jets are real and both got better this offseason. Should be an interesting season and let's see what happens, I am kinda happy pundits are not picking us like last season and hope that offers some motivation.
-
This all points to big games in the playoffs, 13 secs is all on him because he had timeouts and he needs to make sure everyone knows their job and what to do. It started with the kickoff and then next with DB'S playing off the line and trying to protect the sidelines when KC had timeouts. You can include not just holding guys on the first play to burn clock and only give up 5 yards. As for the Cincy game, they came out flat and it just never got it corrected. Yes the Bills have had some great regular season success, but a lot of those wins came against teams with garbage QB'S. I think this season will be Sean's biggest test, the division is no longer a given and the East (4 elite level QB'S alone)is stacked with good QB'S. I think Sean made a wise decision moving on from Frazier, not sure about getting rid of him and now calling defensive plays himself, but we shall see if it was him all along with the conservative no blitzing thinking or Frazier. If Sean shows to be aggressive and they start racking up sacks then Frazier is toast. If the opposite happens then Frazier can just claim it was Sean who did not like to blitz. We heard from Frazier that it was Sean who did not like sending extra guys to get to the QB.

Bills are one of the worse teams in wasting money on special teams players
-
I respectfully disagree, I hope I am wrong but this kid was overdrafted. When your that talented you don't need to wait until your turning 24 to jump to the pros, again I hope I am wrong but I said the same thing the night we drafted Ford and everyone was all hyped up.

Analyzing 10 years of first round TE production
Niagara Dude replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not one player that you can turned into a star, just another reason why Beane was stupid to waste a first and fourth on a position that we already have Knox at. I don't care what number he had at Utah. They could have traded down and got an extra 3rd and taken the monster TE from Georgia. I like all his other picks, just wished he had picked up a monster size DT. -
I did not like our first rounder because the TE position had massive depth in this draft and no need to give up a 4th when we have holes to fill. I loved this pick and it was a massive home run , this guy can play and has elite size. Has something like 1500 drop backs without giving up a sack.
-
Why are people even making these comments , this pick is going to cost Breane . We needed help at other positions and they could have used a 4th to grab the massive TE from Georgia .
-
Another Cody Ford level pick, this guy will be lucky to see the field and why did they give Knox huge money. Stupid
-
This is not a first rounder, average speed 4.7 forty. Small school and we gave up a 4th rounder with much better players available, Beane has this team backwards and they will be fighting for wildcard. I see no overall improvement and this pick excites as much as the Cody Ford pick
-
DHopkins would cost a 2nd round pick...would you do it?
Niagara Dude replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am sure they put their demands out, for a receiver that will be 31 when the season arrives they will be lucky to get a 4th rounder. Hill was 27 when the Chiefs traded him. -
Florio raises an excellent question:

So obvious to see, only Beane apologists cannot see he has done next to nothing this offseason. Glad Mike called it -

Harris is the one major improvement and everyone blaming the line for our running game will see how average Singeltary was
