Chubb and Howard already have been ruled out by head coach Mike McDaniel. Mostert and Waddle, two players who missed last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens because of their injuries, likely will have their playing status determined Friday, and a lot depends on whether they can participate in practice.

Remember last year when the Bengals were starting second string guards vs the Bills and the entire oline was banged up?   Dont put too much stock into injury reports.    Even the backups are NFL players.

Exactly,  the goal should be playing with pace and trying to get as many possessions as possible,  Dolphins will want to slow this game down and keep their defence off the field.

The Bills need to play this game like their playing KC,  force the Dolphins into being one demensional

Bills need to convince themselves the Dolphins listed on injury report will all be playing except Chubb and maybe Waddle.

Some of these listed on the report are still going to play,  Bills just need to know where to tackle/hit when the game starts. Example is Hill and Waddle/Mostert,  the Bills need to tackle/hit around the ankles.  Anyone saying that is not nice are kidding themselves if they think Dolphin players are not going to go at Allen shoulder area. Even the Pats were going after Allen's shoulder area

End of the day the Dolphins are hurting,  the Bills need to attack through the air and get an early lead.  As the game goes on players on that report will begin to wear down and maybe not be as effective after the pill for pain that guys take before games begins to wear off.

Lewis mostly plays safety but also gives you flexibility because he's also the back up slot corner.

Lewis is an accident just waiting to happen,  has no where near the athletic talent or speed that Elam has.

We weren’t meant to see him in the boot when he left practice to go to his house fire. He will not be a 100 percent. If the Dolphins think he will fly around when he wore an immobilized boot on Wednesday this Sunday they are fooling themselves. Let’s go play this Triage unit physical and kick their ass.

Tackle at Hill's ankle area,  that boot being worn says he won't be anywhere near 100%

Agree on Tre. I'd move on.  Agree on Hyde. I thin Poyer can stay another year.

They can not move Miller so you just have to hope he is better

I'm with the minority here.  I would play him. He had an extra week of rest and will want to make a splash play in front of a national audience.  If it were Sept they might dress an extra for the heat and to keep guys fresh. Not an issue now.  But I would dress him and sit Jonathan.

I agree,  he knows he either show up and goes all out or he may not be returning despite the cost. I still think McDermott sitting him as because he knew the final game was going to be for all the marbles.  Sitting gives him a chance to think about things and ho bad his return has been,  either he makes some plays or he will be gone before next season.  I would put down money that he plays and finally makes a big sack

Say what you want about Vrabel as a HC at times but he has team always ready to play and very physical.  He's quoted this week how much he hates losing and wants to win badly.  In addition Tannehill is going to start. In a one game situation he can be very dynamic and carve a team up. He realizes this is probably his last game with them and wants to go out with a win. They are home.  And Trevor Lawrence is beat up and really hasn't played that well this year(except against the Bills of course 🙄). I think there is a real good chance they pull off the upset and the Bills are in the playoffs before they kick it off. Would be nice to know that then can go get that #2 seed!

I prefer we focus on the Bills taking care of business themselves and not expecting other teams to do our work.

This big disparity in injuries can end up working against the Bills, big time. It sets up an expectation that, if it's not met quickly, can turn on a dime and work the opposite way with vengeance, just like a huge underdog that hangs with the champions. There's an inflection point where one team starts playing their best and the other their worst.

In short, the Bills need a fast start to put this thing away. No garbage like a three and out followed by a quick strike by Tua or kick return for a touchdown.

Bills need to come out fast and play with pace,  if Dolphins are as banged up as report says then you push them to keep up. The last thing I want see is some ground and pound with tin consumimg drives then we will be playing into their hands.  You want as many possessions as possible because our team on offensive side is healthy and they are not.

This looks like something the Pats would do,  put in a massive injury report and then almost everyone plays on Sunday.  I am not buying it, I just hope McDermott activates Elam for this game.  We need speed at the corners and I believe the Bills should have a offensive gameplan which is pass heavy or similar to the Philly gameplan. Our season is on the line, put the ball in your highest paid players has in Allen and Diggs

I'll zig while everyone zags and say he should dress. This is a guy who has a documented history of coming up huge in big games. He'll be looking to make an impact too, after what had to have been a humiliating benching.

I agree,  I think he knows his career could be done if he flops and the Bills lose this game. Who knows if McDermott benched him against Pats to save him for final game against Dolphins on a grass field

I saw him on the sidelines in Pats game and he did not look upset

Has anyone changed their opinion of him over the last month?

This will be an emotional weekend. I’m prepared for a lot of McDermott threads Sunday night if things go poorly. I want to see how we’re feeling entering the biggest regular season game of his head coaching career.

If they come out on Sunday trying to run the ball and again struggle on offence costing them the division then I will be pissed and point the finger at him. Even Brady conceded that part of the reason Diggs is not getting the type of production is the Bills trying to run the ball more. Sunday should be about passing the football ,  you paid your QB and top WR loads of money.  Win or lose with those 2

“I don’t think it’s any one thing,” Brady said when asked about Diggs’ part of the equation. “I think it’s a combination of we have been trying to run the ball a little more, I think other guys are continuing to step up, and naturally the focus is always going to be on Stefon Diggs. When you play teams, that’s where the focus is going to be. I have to continue working through just finding ways to get him the ball regardless of that.

Shakir has come on over the second half of the season as Allen has seemingly grown more comfortable throwing him the ball.  He has made some drive saving, and by extension, game saving receptions.  He seems to get the ball in his hands and head straight up the field for YAC instead of dancing around.  He runs crisp routes.  He seems to have worked through his yips/drops issue and has been sure handed.

He only had 8 receptions and 105 receiving yards through Week 7 of this season.  At the end of Week 17, with the bye week in there, he is now sitting at 33 receptions on 39 targets and 506 receiving yards.  He is averaging a gaudy 15.3 yards per reception.

If he is made a bigger part of the passing offense and gets more targets, can he continue this upwards trajectory?  If Gabe is too pricey to come back as the #2 next year, or if Beane and Brady simply want to move on from Gabe or open up competition for the role, does Shakir have the ability to leave the slot and move into that WR2 position?

The prevailing wisdom is that Beane will draft a solid WR prospect and sign a veteran free agent WR to come in and compete for the #2 spot.  I would have no problem with that plan and then have a camp battle between the new guys, possibly Gabe, and Shakir for the WR2 role.

The question is what are the odds this is a situation like the recent MLB transition (Edmunds/Bernard) where Gabe's replacement is already on the roster in Shakir?

No the Bills need to upgrade the position or they will fall behind in the arms race.  The offence has struggled solely because receivers don't create enough separation .  Getting a legit #2 receiver is a must and Shakir is not him,  I think he makes for a good #3 and maybe Shorter develops into the 4th option.

Allen was 8/10 in the 2nd half. Narrowly missing Diggs to make it 9/10. The 1st half started 0/7, finished 7/13. Probably 3-4 drops. Working in condensed space in Pats RZ. I don’t consider finishing 15/23 all that bad.

He needs to start the Dolphins game with a sense of urgency ,  I highly doubt were getting 4 turnovers in the first half to overcome playing like garbage on offence when we cannot even compete a forward pass. Practice this week the passing game,  this game needs to resemble two years ago or the Philly game.  Not trying to force running the ball with Cook then they will lose and I will blame it on McDermott forcing both cordinators into playing ground and pound football

Allen was having a great statistical year as was Diggs until Brady took over

Too much into trying to run the ball and is contributing to slow starts,  this week has to be about throwing the football and Diggs involved. We hated playing Tom Brady because they killed us passing the football,  we don't have Tyrod Taylor we have a top 3-4 QB. Stop with those stupid screen passes and get the forward passing game going.  This is the week to do it and if he fails then you replace him.

Considering the Bills have always been effective on offense against Miami no matter the year or coordinator, and considering Miami does not have Jaelen Phillips or Bradley Chubb, I would probably agree with this. If the Bills offense is sputtering against Miami, and especially if we end up losing, I can’t imagine Brady is back next season as OC.

I personally think our offense will come to play though.  The thing is too, a lot of this falls on Josh Allen and his receivers.  There is a combination of bad drops by receivers  and bad misses by Allen lately, and that can’t happen on Sunday night.  Especially in a game where we may HAVE to get off to a fast start like the last time we faced Miami.

that is where I am mostly concerned. This offense is back to getting off to slow starts which cannot happen this week.

I agree,  outside of Philly game their has not been much.

  14. 5 minutes ago, FilthyBeast said:

Very concerned about this matchup, even more so than the Patriots since it's a road game and the Dolphins are going to be motivated to not only bounce back from an embarrassing outing in Baltimore, but end the Bills season if that's on the table pending the results of the earlier games on Sat/Sun.

If the same team we've seen against the Chargers and Patriots shows up Miami will win and likely win big.

I agree the whole key to this game is Davis/Kincaid/Diggs along with Allen need to get the passing game going earlier. We cannot wait until we fall behind because the Dolphins are not the Chargers or Pats

This is a game we will see if McDermott can get his team up for the moment

I think I would bring up Isabella for this game and drop either Harty or Sherfield who are just wasted roster spots

No because the team has nor been ready to play the past two games and both against garbage teams. If they come out conversation against the Dolphins they will lose
