Rob Quinn on Trubisky replacing Tyrod
Southern Bills Fan replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The giant red flag is Larry Fedora's system of all offense and no defense. It's the football version of what Loyola Marymount used to do in college basketball. -
It doesn't always look good and yes, it looks downright bad sometimes, however, 7th in scoring at 26 points a game in his starts last year i believe. Who can we bring in to IMPROVE on that then?
-
I agree with you 100%. Let's move that logic forward and apply it to Tyrod, who when Sammy was out which was quite a bit the past two years, played with one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL in the past 10 years. Yet many, I'm not saying you, crucify him here daily on this board. I guess my point is that picking and choosing what metrics, standards and statistics we use to judge players just to make our own personal opinion about them seem valid is the wrong way to look at it. The constant refrain of "I'm right and if you don't agree then your stupid" on this board ruins the appeal of it to those of us who just want to discuss Bills football because we love the Bills. Sorry to rant.

What was Jim Kelly coming out of college? Chad Kelly is a knucklehead and immature. That being said I have seen almost every college game that he played. He is by far the best NFL ready passer in the draft and it's not even close. He's definitely a boom or bust pick. If he gets his head on straight he has immense talent. But that's a big if.

I say it in every Tyrod thread. It isn't always pretty but we score a lot of points and very rarely turn the ball over. We could do a lot worse.

Man, this one is hard to take

Ok Hillary. I thought you were a fake Giants fan. -
TT gets probowl invite
Southern Bills Fan replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But he couldn't have made the Pro Bowl, MAJBobby told me 146,328 times this year that he sucks. -
I've seen a lot of him here in Mississippi. He went to East Mississippi Community College after getting booted out of Clemson and before Ole Miss. You like to think he will mature after each incident but he never seems to. That being said, if he gets his head on straight and that's a big if, he has all the tools. I think he will be 10 times the pro QB that Deshaun Watson, who many are yelling for at #10, ever will be.

Predict the starting 22
Southern Bills Fan replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kirby you have us drafting Rueben Foster which would be awesome. He was by far the best player on the field the other night. -
OJ Howard at 10 anyone?
Southern Bills Fan replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our LT, LG and C are good but all are getting up there in age. I hope we start to replenish the talent there. Build a team from the lines out. Dallas is a good example. -
Deshaun Watson is the answer

Williams would be a great pick and a need for us at 10. -
Deshaun Watson is the answer

So 76 td's and 30 int's leaves him +46. Tajh Boyd had 70 td's and 24 int's his last 2 years, also +46. It's the system. Bubble screens and deep lobs to taller wr's. -
Deshaun Watson is the answer

So 30 interceptions in his last 27 college games, many of which were against weak competition, doesn't send up any red flags? Your right, he can "sling it". He just slings it to the wrong team more than once a game. -
Deshaun Watson is the answer

"I've really struggled to grade Watson for the next level. He has had some issues with accuracy, decision making and turnovers. However, none of those issues showed up tonight. There's something to be said for guys that rise to the occasion and play their best in the most important games. He's always done just that, and he did it one more time tonight. We are several months away from the NFL draft, which Watson intends to enter, but this game won't soon be forgotten by NFL evaluators". Ok. What about Daniel Jeremiah from NFL.com? Or is he an "idiot" also because he doesn't agree with you? -

Watson may end up being decent but I certainly wouldn't trade up for him. He is a turnover machine, 17 interceptions this year. -

So you have surveyed the "vast majority" of the football community to know how they feel? And constantly calling anyone who has a different opinion on a player than you an "idiot", kind of makes you look like, you know, and idiot. -

That's why you look at his complete body of work. That's why I included the fact that he threw 17 picks this year. Tajh Boyd is Clemson's all time leading passer by throwing bubble screens to Sammy and letting him run. Did that translate into NFL success? My point is that most of his yards are short passes where the WR"s ran or a lob to a taller WR. That does not necessarily translate to NFL success. But I'm sure you guys are all correct. Let's trade a one read, athletic QB who doesn't turn the ball over for one who does. -

Because others who have excelled in the "big game" are Jamarcus Russell, Matt Leinart and Vince Young. Watson threw 17 picks this year against a not great schedule. -

Yea, your probably right. I should only read things that fit my narrative. -
Deshaun Watson is the answer

Deshaun Watson*, QB, Clemson Height: 6-2. Weight: 205. Projected 40 Time: 4.60. Projected Round (2017): 1-4. 1/9/17: I surveyed teams around the league to see where their initial draft grades were for Watson. Two playoff teams told me they had third-round grades on Watson. One said it was on the low end as a third- to fourth-rounder. Another playoff team told Walt that they had a third-round grade on Watson. Two other teams said they had second-round grades on Watson. Another team thought that Watson still could be a late first-round quarterback, similar to Teddy Bridgewater, because of the dire need at the position across the NFL. In this draft analyst's opinion, I would grade Watson as a third-round pick for the 2017 NFL Draft. Watson has been off with his accuracy this year, displaying poor ball placement, especially when going downfield. He has missed a lot of potential touchdowns as a result. Watson's performance against Louisville confirmed the accuracy and ball-placement problems we've seen all season. He hasn't dominated, and his play is not that of a top quarterback prospect. All of this illustrates that Watson still has room for improvement with his field vision, ball placement, and accuracy. He did finish the regular season playing better, but that doesn't make up for the struggles in the first two-thirds of the season. Also, Watson is undersized compared to your average NFL starting quarterback. On top of that, he plays in a college spread offense that doesn't correlate well to the NFL. Thus, he's going to need to learn working under center, operating the huddle, footwork, and not being a running quarterback. There is no doubt that Watson has great intangibles as a hard worker with good character off the field and leadership in the locker room. So far in 2016, Watson has completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,173 yards with 38 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He has eight rushing touchdowns as well. 7/29/16: Watson played really well to lead Clemson to the National Championship game, and in that title tilt, he threw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns against an Alabama defense that featured tons of future NFL talent. Watson completed 68 percent of his passes in 2015 for 4,104 yards with 35 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. On the ground, he averaged 5.3 yards per carry for 1,105 yards with 12 scores. Watson has a decent arm, excellent athleticism, and can show some superb accuracy. However, he is undersized and doesn't play in a pro-style offense. His numbers are vastly inflated by his college offense. Operating under center will be one thing for him to learn. Watson also has to improve his field vision. He flashes good field vision to work through his progressions on some plays, but he is inconsistent and he can also look to run too soon. Watson won't be able to run as much in the NFL and he needs to get faster at working through his progressions. His pocket-passing process has to get quicker as well. This is from WalterFootball.com. -

He's a projected 3-4 round pick for a reason. His completions were 2 yard bubble screens that the receiver ran for a lot of yards or lobs to a tall receiver who outjumped the defender. He's certainly not as athletic as our qb now.
