Just my thoughts because everyone has good points here. He had a great career and still can be a good get for some team. But when a guy who has been so good for so long suddenly gets a bit shaky to the point where I don’t entirely trust him anymore I think it’s time to move on. He has just not been as good as his first year here. The last 2 years were pretty consistent with each other but still a dropoff from 2017. In all fairness to him I don’t think the injury he sustained helped his cause. The family sounds awesome for what they contributed to the community. There is a risk to go with Bass, but I know he at least has the leg to give us a shot beyond 50. And who’s to say he won’t be as effective or better from under 50? I can’t say for certain Hauska makes a kick anymore that Bass can’t make. check back with me at playoff time lol

I think limiting our range with Hauschka at 50 directly impacts us in game plans. Now we are most likely punting or having to go for it. I go with the big leg. Just my opinion .

I wonder if this is more of a speculative link given to us given our interest in the year past. He hasn’t really done much since 2017. Given his injury history I just don’t see it unless less Beane lands him on a one year prove it deal. Even then I’m not so sure Ansah himself would take that deal.

Very true. I agree about McKenzie and his value. And yes like you say if they have a guy in mind other than him to fill the role he could be out. I wouldn’t risk J Brown in any circumstance, cause stupid things happen out there. like Brandon says it’s great to be at a point where you have to make some tough roster decisions! the top four are a lock. Do we roll with six or seven? Foster I think is effectively done and if we believe McKenzie value is low, thats another who could be out.

I think Roberts brings a sense of stability to our return game that doesn’t make me cringe that someone else is going to mess it up. I’d be surprised if he gets cuts. I think we possibly over value Mackenzie if anything.

I’m ready to roll with Bass. We need his leg. If they want to keep Hauska and can find a spot for him I’m fine with that too.

I think he is probably one the odd men out. . I was hoping after 2018 him and Josh could recapture some of that magic but it just never really materialized.

My safe prediction is Josh Allen Top 15 QB My Bold is Top 10. I think our offense will be on fire this year!

I think Hauschka starts the season just because there is really no game simulation to see Bass. But If Bass performs well out in camp (we might not get much indication with the lack of media) I wouldn't be surprised if Hauschka was cut. I don't think it will happen but I bet we find ways to keep both. As much as he was clutch in Houston, Hauschka numbers have dropped since 2017. He was 1-5 from 50 and beyond. . His range is maxed out. This is a detriment to our strategy by now having to either to choose to punt or go for it. Hopefully we will be scoring a crap load of points or moving the ball well enough to keep us out of Long Field goals this season.

Love this move and l am fine with the timing of this. We should show that we are all in with him as our head coach. Mcd in my books has nothing but deservedly earned my respect and he seems to get the same praise around the league.

Good points. I’m very excited to see what both can do. The more I think about it I think They both may end up just beating out Foster and Duke, I think we keep Roberts for special teams. Foster had some magic with Josh 2 years ago but it seems we just keep waiting to find it.
