  1. Fair point. But somewhat the talent to get us is there is evident. It’s a team sport at the end of the day, especially in the playoffs. Im not in any way saying we don’t need anyone else to elevate the chances of winning in the regular and post season but hammering the point of needing another generational talent to get there isn’t the be all end all. We just need the better players we have to actually show up. Also to your point of trading up, I am absolutely with you. If you feel strongly about this roster then you absolutely have to make moves to get guys who can move the needle closer to Super Bowl contention. There’s potentially a few holes coming up on this team. Especially in the secondary. For that reason I’m inclined myself to believe they maximize additions this year and the next. Corner is a massive looming concern, especially if Benford proves himself out of Buffalo with another very strong year. Would they tag him if that’s the case? You would hope so but that solution is also in play for Cook and maybe even Bosa if he stays healthy and racks up the sacks and a deal isn’t worked out. They need elite talent. Every team does. Finding generational ones? That’s not as easy a task to hang your hat on.
  2. Douglas was solid after the acquisition but he was extremely sloppy down the stretch last year. Unless it’s for the vet minimum or as close to it, hopefully they explore someone else; rookie or another UFA.
  3. You think Hunter doesn’t have sustained success? Interesting. Not denying it but am curious as to why? He’s a kid and has plenty of room to mature. He reminds me of Patrick Surtain if I’m honest.
  4. Landing Grant and Amos/Hairston would be outstanding for the first 2 selections. Hope this pans out. Parrish would be some solid value in the 4th as he’s a solid man coverage guy who is only limited by his physicality. @Mark Vader, hopefully they take a flyer on a QB. These guys they have backing up Josh don’t cut the mustard per se. wouldn’t mind Rourke from Indiana or Ewers from Texas as other potential candidates outside Oregon’s Gabriel.
  5. They come few and far between for any franchise during an era, let alone multiple. We got a guy, potentially, in the top 5 of all time at his position in Josh. IMO, if anything, we need the solid to better players to be consistent when it matters. Our QB is talented enough to get us there alone.
  6. Agree. However I’d rather try and address a boundary corner given the deal handed to Dane and what you’re suggesting with Douglas. Need a guy that can fill the outside role in the event Benford is priced out of Buffalo. We’d have no one under contract unless Ingram becomes sensational.
  7. Just over 15% of the cap is warranted. Wouldn’t mind him even making 20% of it. Dont win much without Josh.
  8. 7:20 to around 14:50 of this video is where he talks about the situations of Hoecht and Larry O. as to where in the video @H2o posted, I couldn’t tell you.
  9. On one hand, sure given his production in the league. on the other, he didn’t do much and sent a premium pick to Cleveland for him. Could do better or worse. Think Palmer addition negates him coming back at anything more than 5-7m p/y imo
  10. Zay Jones was no slouch those final 2 years of college for those Pirates… he had what his final year? 150 receptions for 1700 yards? That’s nutty production
  11. March 17th 2023…
  12. Was hoping they’d go after St. Juste. Enjoyed what I saw from him in the Commanders games I managed to catch last year. CB is either a cheap vet, be it Douglas or a guy in the draft imo. Vet wise, I’d love for them to scrap Douglas and sign either Noah Igbinoghene or Ahkello Witherspoon maybe even give CJ Henderson a shot as he wasn’t too bad before his exit from Carolina. Didn’t really do anything in Pittsburgh though.
  13. Aside from QB, absolutely the hardest position the play at a quality or high level in the pros. hope they hit another home run when they choose to go the CB route in this upcoming draft. All the best to Elam, sucks it didn’t work out for him. Hopefully this kickstarts his career.
  14. The only value is that it’s a one year deal and doesn’t hurt the team down the road if he picks up a serious injury. Not a big fan of the signing personally but don’t hate it either as the interior still has issues and he can’t be counted upon to stay healthy as it stands. Looks like he’s immediately occupying the Von rotational role as he was essentially doing that for the Chargers (14 games, 9 starts, 42% of the snaps). The silver lining is he’s turned in solid seasons in the ones he’s completed. Nothing otherworldly but 10-12 sacks would certainly be a welcomed addition.
  15. Oh I’m with you bro, hence the point he’s above the quality he showed with the Jets. I think he’d have awesome numbers with Stafford in LA as he immediately takes the Kupp targets/role. Herbert? I think you’d be doing a disservice to the performance of McConkey last year as Adams has seen some of his best work bouncing in and out of the slot. Exactly like Ladd. Either way, yes. Following his buddies in the hope of greener pastures shouldn’t be his hat stand. A contender or somewhere that can accentuate his strengths is the smarter option.
  16. They were talking this morning on Sirius about his release and bet he follows Aaron Rogers to either New York Giants if he goes there. They joked about him following him back to the Raiders and how it’s like a spurned ex who’s moved on and got better. The talks are they probably wouldn’t allow that to happen unless extremely team friendly, so the other option/s that are being thrown around is a return to his hometown of Los Angeles via a Rams or Chargers signing. Will be interesting to see what happens as he is probably well above the quality he showed after signing with the Jets last season.
  17. The German kid, Kreig, is on the rise it seems.
  18. Agree For consistency, definitely Mario. Lived up to the contract.
  19. 75/25 Talent/Scheme Theres less you can do with the front standpoint as our “base” defense is nickel and not a traditional 4-3 where you can change the gap assignments in an under or over front. For that reason, it mainly falls on the talent lacking at the interior. However, with a consistent failing to make some changes in the personnel like he did during his Carolina days, I get it though as Taron is one of the best, makes it fall on scheme too. Still there was periods Taron was out and he kept it the same. During his Panther days he had Shaq Thompson as a hybrid safety in the same role Taron occupies. That in turn doubles back to the lack of talent to have freedom of assignment variations.
  20. Not saying it won’t because we aren’t even at the doorstep of the draft yet but man that is some insane talent in the first 4 picks. Definitely the first 3. Jemari Harris is a guy that I’m starting to like a lot the more I watch. Seems like he could be a solid boundary corner. The only thing I’m noticing is he lacks decent physical elements; strength and speed. For that area of the draft though, would be a perfect selection of those concerns translate to combine/pro day testing.
  21. Rice isn’t that much ahead of Shakir, if at all. Caleb Bullock would have been a nice addition but we’ll see where we are at with Bishop. Pick for picks, as is stands right now, id say we did solid. They’ve all produced somewhat where as the other group only has 2 players making any impact; Rice & Bullock. Legette, like you said is tbd.
  22. There is nothing worse than complaining about what others enjoy. Lighten up.
  23. Trade, when healthy, our best LB when we’re likely going to make his job a whole lot easier if we upgrade the defensive line? That’s a no from me dawg.
