2nd half thread Bills @ Jets

Why do you keep running the ball. Why. I can't understand that especially when we go 3 and out ON THE TEN. -

Marrone has to see how terrible hackett is by now. Surely -

Our offense looks just terrible. 10 points off of 4 turnover. Just wow. A combo of Hackett and Oline being bad. Our defense must hate this game. -
The capricious nature of the NFL

Great post. But I also feel like our wideouts are better than the Seahawks'. This doesn't really add much to the point you're making but I thought I'd point it out. Again, great post. -
I'm loving the way Orton is playing. He's efficient and that's all a QB really needs to be.

Is a stubborn, old fashioned man. He won't take Pears out unless he's injured (maybe not even then). He won't play Urbik or Mike Williams because of some unknown reason, they probably did something to piss him off. This is very high school/college level stuff. He needs to admit his mistake about the Oline and bench Pears or Cyril for Urbik. As for Mike, at least throw him in in the red zone. Quit with your mind games and step up Marrone. This is getting ridiculous.

I'll start off with the positive shout outs: 1. Sammy. Played so well today and was easily the best player on offense for us. This guy is gonna be (and already is) very good. 2. Chris Hogan. Made some clutch catches after his early fumble, which isn't easy to do from a confidence standpoint. And that catch to set up the game winner. I nearly cried tears of joy. 3. Kyle Orton. Looks far and away better than EJ. He's consistent and, while not very athletic, drops some dimes for our wideouts. I love his poise. A true vet. 4. Boobie Dixon. He really stepped up when Fred and CJ went down. Love his heart and all-out attitude. Well wishes for CJ and Fred. Hope they get healthy soon. 5. Leodis. Had some questionable coverage issues today, but he had 2 picks that really helped us out. 6. Marcell Dareus. This guy is an absolute monster. I don't even have to say anything, he just balled out today. Now for the less positive ones: 1. Oline. They looked very poor today. Constant pressure on Orton. This unit looks very sketchy at the moment. 2. Nate Hackett. He had some nice play calls, I'll give him that. But he also had some very poor ones. You NEED consistency in the NFL to consistently win. Also, I saw a few screens to Boobie D today, why don't any of those go to CJ when he's in or to Sammy? It blows my mind. 3. Doug Marrone. He looked like a lost child today. He seemed very confused and uninspired. Worrisome. 4. Aaron Williams. His tackling was atrocious to say the least. Absolutely man handled on 2 separate occasions. He needs to be better than that. 5. Stephon Gilmore. Got beat in coverage several times and lost his cool with Greg Jennings. He needs to be more mature there. I really hope he starts to improve... 6. Turnovers and 3rd down D. Too many turnovers. They will kill us. Also giving up those long 3rd downs several times. Those WILL be killer against better teams. We need to shore that up on the coaches' and players' sides. Comments: Very happy that we pulled out a win today. Sammy is a beast and I still don't like Hackett, he has no idea how to use all of our weapons. Robert Woods needs the ball more, not sure whose fault that is. Pass defense is terrifying right now, we need to shore it up quick. Run defense is solid though (it's like the exact opposite of last year). All in all, we are above .500 and I'm loving that. Bring on the Jets. Go Bills!!!!!

Wow. Just wow. Show's how "good of a guy" he is...

Quarterback from ECU. He looks very good, strong in the pocket, good leader, accurate, and doesn't make many mistakes. He is putting ECU on the map right now. I would love to get him in the 2nd if he falls to us. Let him develop behind Orton for a bit and then we can see what he can do. Thoughts?
-
Just wondering everyone's thoughts on him. Doesn't appear he'll get his job back in St. Louis. Would you like us to bring him in? I would love to see him and a qb we draft battle it out for the job.

What do the Bills do for a fix at guard now?

Put Marrone back in pads -
What are we gonna do when this guy is gone? He's getting older and must be getting ready to retire soon-ish. He is such a monster and gives everything he has every play. And whenever he gets hurt, I think to myself that he's not coming back. Then the next play he runs a guy over and gains 6 yards. He is the best and my absolute favorite player. I don't want him to go, but all players have to stop at some point. What are your thoughts on the InFredible Hulk?

Golden Tate's proclamation
NextYearGuys replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's just mad that he lost to us. Most players think the Bills and Buffalo as a city are a joke. So naturally, when we beat them they get salty. It's ok Golden, maybe in 4 years:) HAHAHA guess karma is real -
Don't get your hopes up...

I was there in 2003. First Bills game. I was 9 years old and my dad and I flew back from California. One of the best days of my life. -
Best news I've heard all day. Great stuff.

Stephon Gilmore- Played very well today. Been critical of him these past few games (rightly so), but he played great today. That PI call was bs. Kyle Orton- He passed for over 300 with close to a 70% completion percentage (when is the last time a Bills QB did that?). If he can do this on a consistent basis, we're in for a fun year boys. Jim Schwartz- I thought he called a great game. Defense was lights out except for that TD. Good to get this win for him. Sammy Watkins- Those catches. Just yes. Fred Jackson- Ran hard as per usual. Love that guy. My favorite player by far. Marcel Dareus- Just a nightmare for the Lions O-line yesterday. Erik Pears- Didn't play particularly well, but he shoved Fairley on that late hit on Orton. Love that. Marquise Goodwin- Please give this guy more looks. He is very very VERY fast. Robert Woods- I don't know if all of you see it, but he goes 110% every play. Works really hard. He needs the ball more as well. Chris Hogan- He made a great catch over the middle when he knew he was gonna get smacked. Love the courage of that guy. Chris Gragg- TOUCHDOWN. Doug Marrone- Solid win. He was fired up after the game. Great game yesterday. First half was a bit sketchy but once we settled down, we took control. BEAT THE PATS NEXT WEEK!!!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always felt like receiving the kickoff is a poor choice. You NEED to score in order for it to be worth it. Otherwise, the other team gets momentum due to making a stop and gets to receive the ball next half. Deferring for me is a much better choice, especially for us, because our defense is so solid and I feel like if we get a stop we get a ton of momentum and likely pretty good field position. Never understood why teams choose to receive the kickoff.

2015 2nd round (or later) QB prospects
NextYearGuys replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Carden looks great. Wouldn't mind Cook or Petty at all. Bradford in FA is a possibility as well. This is still VERY early to be saying all of this though. -
Does anyone still support EJ or Hackett?
NextYearGuys replied to NextYearGuys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree completely with this. There have been the occasional brilliant plays that worked out well, such as most of Sammy's catches against Miami. And even some that EJ just missed, see the Texans game. However, there are many times where the play calls are just ridiculous for our current situation. This is why I think Hackett needs to go. He came with Marrone. That is the only reason he is in this league. No Marrone, no Hackett plain and simple. He'd still be coaching a slightly above average college offense at Syracuse. He doesn't consistently call good plays, which I can see from my chair as well. I'd love to have Chan back as our OC. He was so creative with our players, and we weren't even as talented as we are now. Imagine what he could do with CJ, Sammy, Woody, Gragg, Mike Williams, Boobie D, Fred, or even EJ.
