Changes on the O line?
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to harv shitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This. It'd only be a 9 game rental. It's not like anyone thinks we should sign him long term. This offense could be loads better with a solid upgrade at guard right now. -

To be realistic, none of us have any idea how likely or unlikely it is. Whaley has signed lots of guys with previous issues. Either way I think it's stupid not to. -
A Team Player- CJ Spiller
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what I thought the crying was about too. I know he wanted to prove everyone wrong who said he did't have it anymore, and as soon as he busts off a great run he gets hurt. -

I think CJ will stay in BUF for a hometown discount, but I'm just speculating based on the type of person he is. He and Freddie are really close. -

I don't really understand what point you're trying to make. Are you saying you don't think incognito would be an upgrade to our line over Pears? -

I think he learned a lot from Freddie about how to act in the NFL. He's definitely one of the most genuine, good guys on the roster. I'm pulling for him regardless of what team he ends up on. -

I don't really care what he's known for off the field. I'm looking for the Bills to win, not get the "good guys" award. He'd be a 9 game rental and that's it. And signing him is probably the best way to improve our chances to win out of any single roster move we could make right now. -
Changes on the O line?

Why? Because he's available and he's absolutely better than the guards we have playing now. If you're trying to imply that Incognito isn't better than Pears, we have nothing else to discuss. -

Sign Incognito. It's win/win. -He could be had dirt cheap -He would instantly upgrade the Oline -Despite what anyone says there's no way he'd cause a problem in the locker room. It would essentially be a 9 game rental until we can address the position after the season ends. Do people really think a guy that is on his absolute last chance to have an NFL career is going to ruin a locker room in only 9 weeks? Very doubtful. Plus he would add a nastiness to the line that we've been missing this season. A guy like that could very well improve he other guys around him. -
Mckelvin, Gilmore, not worthy; Buddy's picks
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to rcatty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can we all just stop and appreciate that our deep woods Georgia boy is balling out and leading the league in interceptions right now? People see these dudes as automatons with their helmets on. I want you to WATCH THIS VIDEO and realize this dude is leading the league in INTs for *US* right now, for Bills Nation. http://www.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Leodis-McKelvin-I-looked-like-a-receiver/5a2d505c-8800-4a02-a0de-dd4a78d61257 -
NE Gets A Little Help From The Zebras
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to All_Pro_Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do you think you would feel officiating a game that included one of the longest running dynasties of great teams that currently had a QB and a coach you were already aware would go down in the history books as the greatest pair in the history of the entire sport? You don't think there could be any possibility of subconscious bias? Do you think Muhammad Ali didn't get a little point bias from scoring judges later in his career? Or that the refs of his fights weren't a little more hesitant to call a low blow foul on the peoples' champ? It doesn't have to be a huge conspiracy for it to be true. It only takes a VERY small bias in the judgement of the refs to significantly alter a game, and since there have been SO many of these games over the past few years that favored the Pats it seems pretty obvious a bias for them exists. -

McKelvin is tied for most INTs in the league.... -
CJ Spiller; surgery for a broken collar bone WGR
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel really bad for Spiller. He's a really, really good kid. He's quietly just as humble as they talk about Watkins being. -
I'd rather keep CJ and let him heal up and while we get to see what Bryce Brown can do.

Even the passing D isn't as terrible as people think imo. We've just played against some really good QBs in guys like Rivers, Brady, and even Cutler. Look what the Bills did today with Bridgewater. After today we've moved up to 18th in passing yards given up and I expect us to keep trending up as we get to some of the easier games in our schedule.

I would sign Incognito in a heartbeat. How much damage could he do in the locker room when it'd essentially by a 9 game rental to get us to the offseason so we can address the position more permenantly?
-
If anyone is willing to spend the money to keep this unit together it's Pegula imo. I was really, really happy he got the team. I'm not nearly as worried about the Bills letting talent walk anymore. There are stats that go both ways. We have more sacks and have let up less rushing TDs while also allowing shorter runs, but because of today they have allowed less rushing yards per game.

I've been wondering for awhile why Hairston hasn't been given any consideration. I thought he played pretty decent last season yet he hasn't even been in most of these Oline conversations.
-
Definitely the strength of the team, but we're always so hesitant to label anything Bills-related as "best in the league." I think we should embrace that they are indeed second to none when it comes to the defensive line. On a semi-related note I also think it's safe to say that the Shepphard-for-Hughes trade is probably the most lopsided player-for-player trade in the entire history of the NFL. I looked around a bit and couldn't find a single instance that worked out better for one team.

Most people agreed we had a really good Dline going into the year but seldom went as far as saying they were the best. I'm going to go ahead and say that, at least through 7 games, the Bills have the #1 defense in the league. We thought we'd be sacrificing sacks for protection in Shwartz's new scheme, yet here we are leading the league in sacks. Bills Dlinemen make up 3 spots in the league's top 10 individual sack leaders. Before today, we were ranked #1 in the league in run defense. We gave up some today, but we're still ranked 5th. If we had Kiko next to Spikes and Bradham I'd go so far as to say they had the #1 front 7, but I'll wait until next year to see if that pans out.

What will they do about this horrid O-line?
TheBillsWillRiseAgain replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Regardless of how they turn out, I hope we can at least all agree that just because they're playing badly now doesn't mean they always will. There's definitely a learning curve for almost all rookie Olinemen. Even a lot of the "studs" that are picked in the top 10 struggle some or all of their rookie seasons. If nothing else them getting all this experience is going to allow us to speed up the learning process and know what we really have in them much quicker than we'd know sitting them for a year or two.
