  1. what have they shown us so far?

Not enough to even think they can win a close game. They failed, yet again against NE, they lost to KC who in a neutral site would have been even competition, they have little chance to beat P Manning, or Cinderella Brady, or Rodgers. Hell, they may not even win against the Browns!!!

A playoff caliber defense for one thing.

  2. You're right, yesterday was definitely a stereotypical Bills loss. But it was the first one of the season imo. Sucks it happened in such an important game that kills our WC chances, but the division is still possible. NE has a tough schedule coming up.

  3. It seems like every year we surmise that 11-5 will be needed to eek the playoffs, and every year we're wrong.

Also, for a team (KC) that's made its living winning ugly, there's a whole lot of confidence going around that they'll get to 10-6 by finishing 4-3 with five losable games still left on their schedule:

    1. Seattle
    2. Denver
    3. @Arizona
    4. @Pittsburgh
    5. SD

The problem is that there are 5 other teams to contend with for a WC spot and they all have much better conference records than us. What are the chances none of them make it 10-6?

  4. If they knew they were in 4 down territory they should have ran it a couple times to create a 4th and short. We were running all over them our past 2 drives. Terrible play calling to throw to the endzone 4 times in a row on the #1 ranked pass defense in the league with Orton as your QB.

ESPECIALLY since it wasn't goal-to-go and we could have gotten a first down before the endzone.

  5.

I hope so, and I expect it, too, to be frank.

But I wish it would matter more, because this team has dug itself a HUGE hole in the AFC. It's to the point where I think we need to be as lucky against 2/3 of the Pats, Broncos and Packers, as we were unlucky against the Chiefs.

So I'm saying there's a chance, but not one that any Bills fan should be putting money on regardless of the Miami outcome.

Pretty much how I feel about it today. Our fate is no longer in our hands. Not only do we need to win win most our remaining games, but we now need some other teams to have some losing stretches.

  6.

Pretenders lose a home game after a BYE that they dominated all game long.

Contenders win a home game after a BYE that they dominated all game long.

That's cute that you don't agree but Facts are Facts.

Contenders don't lose meaningful home games against Conference opponents that are served on a platter as a win.

The 2014 Buffalo Bills are pretenders.

This is the kind of loss that chatters a locker room. The defense dominated the game. The Offense shot themselves in the foot. Trust is lost.

Remember when the 2013 Buffalo Bills quit in Tampa, FL. Remember how almost every Thursday game has been a huge blowout. Dolphins 38 - Bills 6 is my prediction for Thursday.

    Ok guy.

  7. There multiple, fundamental similarities, including a bottom-feeding offense that cannot score touchdowns in the red zone, a weak, porous offensive line, and thoroughly overmatched coaches whose motto is "play not to lose." Those are just a few off the top of my head.

Get the !@#$ out of here. We're obviously not watching the same season.

  8. A) It took them the 2013 preseason, 2013 regular season, and almost the entire 2014 off-season to get a durable and experienced NFL QB on this roster. Prior to this they had glass-Kolb, a journeyman in Lewis, UDFA Jeff Tuel, and a myriad of others now out of the league. The exception was Tarvaris Jackson who they inexplicably cut.

    What's your point?

    B) You would pull EJ too if your HC and GM job was on the line. The expectations were playoffs in 2014 and it was clear after week 4 EJ wasn't taking this team there.

    What's your point?

    C) EJ presses because he's afraid of failing. He does exactly what the staff tells him to do and showed little ability to adapt to opposing defenses. He is headed toward bust status real quick.

    What's your point?

  9. I disagree. Good coaches have a 4th and 1 ready to rock like KC had today while . our bumbling response was another lame attempt to draw the offsides. Orton was not razor sharp today , but we were killing them throwing to our backs. So with 4 downs on their 15 we make no effort to get a first down, throw underneath or to run, we go the throw to the endzone 4 times. When it comes to crunch time, this coaching staff is in a highchair at the table with real NFL coaches.

Redzone offense is the only thing anyone could possibly complain about. We got more yards than most teams that have played the Chiefs.

  10. Now we know the 2014 Bills are pretenders.

See I can't agree with that. A paper tiger is a team that looks good against terrible teams but completely folds when faced against a skilled opponent. The Bills had stupid mistakes that ended up being really costly today, but they certainly weren't exposed as a weak team.

On the #1 ranked pass defense in the league, Kyle Orton passed for more yards than Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, and all but ONE(Jake Locker during KC's horrible week 1 game) QB the Chiefs have played all year. They were in control for most of the game and had 6 sacks against a team that before today was only letting up an average of 2 sacks per game.

The Bills lost this game the way we're used to them losing games over the past few years. It sucks because they've been able to avoid those "Bills-like" mistakes that cost games up until this week.
